I'm surprised this hasn't been recommended yet. Both are maho shoujo sentai (magical girl fighting squads). Both Mamoru and Yousuke at first tease the main leading female (usagi and momoko), and Usagi and Momoko both get annoyed with them, but eventually fall for the them. Both girls are not completely human (Usagi is the reincarnation of the Moon Princess and Momoko is half-angel). Sailor Moon has more serious themes and better character growth, but otherwise the two are fairly similar.

Both are shoujo mysteries. Where the main characters, Ivan in Fairy Cube and Hisano in Coelacanth, are trying to figure out the truth about events from their childhood. Both have a romantic element that is secondary to the mystery, but still strongly present in the story as it unfolds. Fairy Cube has decidedly more supernatural elements in its story than Coelacanth, but the latter does have minor hints of supernatural as well.

Both are fantasy adventures, where the main leading girl is transported to a fantasy land and she must gather others and form a group. In Dream Saga, Yuuki gathers her classmates who also go to the other world, and in Fushigi Yugi, Miaka gathers her celestial warriors. However, Dream Saga has a lot less drama and is more innocent; it is also a lot shorter as well.

The two aren't really very similar, but both are short story collections that happen to warrant a look. Unlike the majority of short story collections that tend to be shallow and uninspired, these two collections have very interesting stories. If you liked one, then chances are, you will like the other.

Similar leading characters, an innocent, sweet, but spunky girl, and a boy who is mean to her at first, but then starts to fall for her. Also both feature elementary aged kids, and darker underlying themes. Finally both are magical girl type stories (but Gakuen Alice is more of a school drama), and both have an emphasis on special (or magical) children.

Basara

Both feature strong female leads and slightly twisted male leads that are altered by the experiences they go through with the female lead. Also both have artwork which starts out really rough, but gets progressively better. The two are also from the romantic genre, but other then that, their genres and story lines are VERY different. Basara has a lot more action then Hana Yori Dango, which is purely a romantic tale.
