Season 1 builds ground work for later events, so it is kinda slow or even boring for new watchers. The adaptation is questionable, but this series is adapted from a light novel, so I won't be too harsh on it.
However, the island exam (episode 9-12) achieve the goal for what the anime suppose to do, they are here to promote the light novel. With excellent and intriguing main character, the battles between classes, good supporting characters, the anime charmed me into reading the light novel.
Overall: Objective - 7/10. Subjective: 9/10. Episode 7 is so trash that I can't stand to re-watch it.

nothing big happen, but I like the slice of life aspect and some tension moments in between.
Art: 9/10. Not movie tier, but still peak when it was released. The eyes of characters are the most beautiful in any series I've seen.
Sound: 9/10. Good soundtrack. Nothing bad enough to notice.
Character: 10/10. I really like the main character, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. I think he's the best main character in all the series I've watched.
Enjoyment: 9.8/10. Episode 7 is so trash it kinda ruins the overall enjoyment for me. But still great in general.
