Spice and Wolf is a casual yet serious anime. On one hand you have a light and easy going side to the story that makes it playful. On the other you have a heavy and serious side to the story that progresses the plot. On top of that, you have two characters that initially were indifferent of each other but grew closer as they experience various forms of hardship together. Though Toradora may not be a fantasy, in my opinion, it shares a lot of similar traits with Spice and Wolf. You have an easy going story that has its serious moments to progress the plot. Further more, you have two characters that were initially indifferent to each other but grew closer as they spend more time together. In terms of genre and category, they're different but in terms of the feelings that I get from watching the two, they are very similar. If like me, you are looking for an anime that has the same feel to Spice and Wolf, I would recommend you to watch Toradora.

...then you might like Seirei no Moribito add

Out of all the anime recommended, I would have to say that The Third: Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo is the closest thing to Seirei no Moribito. Tales told of legendary female warriors who uses their power to protect rather than to kill. Though they may possess great strength, they choose to walk the path of a trivial life. Living each day knowing that the blissful life they have now are thanks to the sacrifices of those who had protected them. As they continue their journey about their daily lives, a spark of chance change their path in life to realize the truth behind the world around them. The bonds that they've made along the way and the love they bare will soon to rock the foundation of the world that they live in.

Both anime dealt with two enemy groups of humanoids and how the conflicts that exist between them could mean the end of the world. The character of the story is also set up to be the same. A strong woman who have a strange encounter with a mysterious man. In the end, the true identity of the man she met is revealed which will decide the fate of the world... the end, or the beginning.

Story: I can't say that the story are similar but the moral and the ideas behind it are alike. They fight to protect others and prevent sacrifices. The actions of both anime are very good and the fighting moves are very creative. Characters: The characters of both anime are very similar. Both protagonist are extremely naive, believing that they will be able to protect everyone without sacrificing some. They both are willing to fight a losing battle if it means that it will prevent others from fighting. Both the heroines are alike as well. Both having a mean streak and a someone tsundere yet kuudere field.

An optimistic protagonist who cares about others more than himself. Extremely naive to point of stupidity. A tsundere heroine with a traumatizing past. These two manga are extremely alike in both character development and atmosphere wise.

Both heroines claim to be knights that will protect and serve the main protagonist. The main protagonist refuse to see the heroine as a servant. Also in Fate/stay night, the servant is actually a knight. Romance and drama in the air.

...then you might like Ikoku Meiro no Croisée The Animation add

The atmosphere of both anime are utterly the same. The sense of a father figure with both heroines being very young, innocent, and pure. Heart warming anime with moral of goodness inside this world. If you like one of these anime, there is no way will not like the other.

The anime both dealt with supernatural occurrences and the question of humanity in this world. With an atmosphere of sadness, sorrow, and happiness. Containing both drama, romance, and a bit of comedy to enrich the quality of both anime. This Ugly Yet Beautiful World and The Third is definitely two anime to watch if you like one of them.
