Na Nare Hana Nare is probably one of the best cheerleading animes, considering there is two that I can remember, Arima Yell which completely forgot it was supposed to be about cheerleading. That being said, as an anime, it struggles with stuffing too much in one season.
Na Nare Hana Nare's animation, music and upbeat nature is a treat. The girls look fine, the cheer choreography is great. Every character feels like they are their own entity and have relevance to the world.
The only problem with this show, is because the characters are actually realistic, they all have problems that are entangled and the show
...
respected that enough to attempt to address all of them usually at the same time. It really did its best but the effort stumbled a lot as clearly by the final episode, a lot of new problems were poorly introduced but it was at least adequately solved.
If this show had 2 seasons, this would have been great, but with the 1 season we get, it is a well thought out jumble of a show, that I liked but I know could have been done much better with a few more episodes.

Shikanoko is a mediocre comedic anime. When I look for comedic animes, I look for some semblance of fairness of the jokes. Torako is mostly the butt of the jokes and she just doesn't deserve it. Shikanoko gets away with practically everything making the show seem mean-spirited. This is especially bad during the school festival episode. The other comedic characters barely factor into the jokes which is a shame as it would finally allow Torako to stop being clowned on.
The story and set up of the jokes has the narrator openly call out about how forced the situation is. I appreciate the awareness but wish
...
there was more to that as it frankly doesn't excuse the failure to make the situation funny.
Overall a medicore comedy that doesn't live up to its internet hype.

Watashi no Yuri wa Oshigoto desu! is a good guilty pleasure rom-com yuri anime. It has stupid plot and stupid drama set up for the sake of stupid plot and drama but it is still enjoyable.
Character wise, the show is great as all characters have coincidentally strong prior history with one another and they don't really talk it out to one another until the proverbial plot boils over. I liked Yano and Hime the best as despite how clumsy the two are with each other, they are decent people. I am pretty sure Kanoko is designed to be a hated character so job well done,
...
I dislike her.
Animation wise, the lighting is flashy and there is that intentional dramatic flair which works for all the drama for drama's sake. The animation does the show justice.
Soundtrack is okay, and that piano that plays when drama happens is nothing outstanding but catchy. It is even more catchy than the opening. It is likely more of the drama for drama sake doing all the work but the show just hammers that home.
Storywise, the show has stupid plot and stupid drama, and I mean that in an endearing way. It does what it does quite proudly and competently. As long as someone is going in expecting that, this show is great.
Yuri is My Job! is a fun watch and easy recommend for people looking for stupid yuri rom-com drama. It is competently produced for that purpose and one will certainly get what they came for.

Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei is a good yuri anime, one that that also revealed yuri is not enough to carry the show. This show is worth watching up until episode 9.
Characterwise, Anis is easily likable being your confident blonde hair savior. Euphy is okay and has flaws to be ironed out, which the show did do. I personally liked Tilty more than either two of them because she is a little bit more objective.
Animationwise, this show is good, no doubt about it, even the parts I disliked at the end, I will easily admit, the animation was up to par.
Soundtrackwise,
...
nothing offensive, nothing outstanding either.
Storywise, this show falls apart at the end. One of main characters did a 180 degree turn in character, that was not hinted at well and extremely forced. The crisis that could have caused this dramatic shift was solved too nicely for the character to have such a sudden shift in attitude. Had it been resolved in a the worse possible fashion, sure this character shift would have been realistic and made this show great.
Shows that drop the ending are salvageable. Shows that drop the ending within its own internal logic are not salvageable. This anime falls towards the later.

Shummatsu Train is a trippy fun show with jokes, life lessons and all sorts of things sprinkled in there. It is not a masterpiece so expectations should be tempered but it its overall execution was good.
Characterwise, the four heroines are all likable and unique in their own way. There is the smart Akira, outgoing Reimi, caring but stern Nadeshiko and conflicted but well meaning Shizuru. Surprisingly despite the fact that opening focuses a lot on Shizuru and Yoka, the rest of the 3 main cast members are very relevant to being able to make the trip to Ikebukuro. If I had to pick a favorite,
...
Nadeshiko is easily the most likable but I've warmed considerably to Shizuru and enjoy that she is quite a flawed person that gets better from that. The other major characters are cool and likable as well with Zenjiro and the two Pochis coming to mind.
Animationwise, being a trippy show, the series does its job well. Every station that the show cared about felt unique and weird in its own way.
Storywise, the show was clearly supposed to be a two season show given the amount of stations so the show did feel rushed. This essentially damaged the characters who really needed episodes for their backstory. Regardless, the show did the best they could with that, given they had to flesh out 5 characters, while showing off the wonky unique world. For a trippy show, the plot is surprisingly linear and easy to understand, but I guess that is what you get when you are on a train.
Soundwise, the show was good, the opening GA-TAN GO-TON is absolutely perfect for this show. The rest, nothing comes to memory on bad.
Overall, it is well worth a watch.

Manaria Friends is adapted from a Gacha Game (one I did not play) so my expectations were low and I'm really only in it for the yuri. Conveniently out of all gacha games adaptions to an anime, it did one thing right, focus in immensely on a small cast of characters and make a good show out of it.
It successfully did that, the two main leads contrast with one another and like each other. The other cast are tack-ons but they feel right as tack-ons. It isn't as if the tack-ons need to have spotlight which so many other gacha game adaptions always force
...
into their anime which again is bad, there is never enough time to focus in on the usually large cast of characters in a gacha game so sidelining them is the correct choice.
Story is fun SOL. Music is not memorable nor bad. Animation conveniently is not low budget because it is a short 10 episode run. It never over stayed its place and was just good fun.
This show is a must-watch for those who want to finally see a good gacha adaption that isn't UmaMusume.

16bit Sensation: Another Layer was disappointing. The idea of a show being a tribute to an early part of the anime subculture, the early 80-90s doujin games is a good premise. However when it was executed, it felt weak. It is not worth watching.
Animation wise, the show is fine. Konoha looks cute, Mamoru is quite handsome. The other characters are easy on the eyes and the show is fine on that regard.
Character wise, the show is also fine. Konoha does love games of the era she is supposed to enjoy. Her passion is infectious and game development team as a whole feel warm and dysfunctional
...
yet competent enough to pass as something I would expect to see of an indie studio.
The soundtrack is okay, I definitely like Link ~past and future~. The rest of the soundtrack is okay and does its job fine. Nothing stood out as bad soundtrack per-say.
Storywise, this show fails on the last 4 episodes completely. The whole future being an incredibly bad butterfly scenario that has no rational reason, both using the show's logic and applying standard real life logic. This show is grounded somewhat in reality and the fact the villain is what it is kills suspension of disbelief very quickly. The rest of the show was just disappointing. I expected the show to go a lot more into game development not just have passion, dithering and voila you too can create your own "Clannad VN" or something. I admit my knowledge of 80-90s VN is bad, but I expected to learn a lot more from this show. I get that art is important to VN but shouldn't the routing have a lot more focus? It just feels like a generic create creative works series but the premise seemed to promise more.
Overall, objectively, this show is fine. It looks nice, the characters match what the show is supposed to get at and a soundtrack is good. However, I wanted more, because a show that should be a passion project considering the creator of the show was from that era should have showed off more of their trade to create those games from that era.

Lycoris Recoil is an excellent anime and an original to boot. It is incredibly easy to get into as it has a large amount of themes introduced early that seemingly contrast well with characters representing the themes quite effectively. This allows it to catch a wide amount of anime viewers who may be fans of different genres and should in theory fumble due to thematic whiplash and poor execution. However Lycoris Recoil is well worth a watch.
The characters are by far the strongest this show has to offer. They feel alive with their own goals and interests. The main characters Chisato and Takina contrast exceptionally
...
well both visually and ideologically and yet opposites attract. It is great to see them change sometimes a little and sometimes a lot as the show progresses while retaining core quirks of their personality.
The story starts off strong due to the contrasting elements of a slice of life balanced with police state enforcement work. It is admittedly a simple story but its execution is great. The lessons the show teaches seems to be at odds with one another. Lycoris Recoil does not take the "tame" nor "expected" route out of complex scenarios leading to potentially thought-provoking discussion.
Lycoris Recoil has amazing pacing. The episode composition is quite good as episodes end by setting up parts of the next episode saving important time to cram more of the show throughout the season. The show is quite willing to throw breather moments before getting back into action within the same episode. For an original with just 1 season, it seems to be done with intent. This leaves viewers wanting more of one aspect of the show because they are well done, but with what little time the show spends on its segments are done great.
Animation wise, the show is great. The main characters are great to look at and shows that have the main characters in many different outfits even in passing is great. The world and its color is simple, beautiful and portrays the world well. The fight scenes are according to some imperfect due to their liberties they take gun combat but even then it does make the heroes look cool.
The voice acting of this show is phenomenal and goes a long way to making the characters feel close to one another while also feeling like their own person. This is what ties the contrasting elements of the show together. Lycoris Recoil focuses a lot about the dynamic of its main characters. Since the voice acting of the two make them genuinely feel like friends, family and even perhaps even more, it allows the slice of life scenes to feel warm and endearing while giving the actions scenes to have a sense of stake. This part would made or broken the show. It definitely made the show.
Soundtrack wise, the show is fine. The ending theme "Tower of Flower" is incredibly catchy. Its opening theme is dramatic is quite a good listen to. The rest of the show's soundtrack is okay. It was not outstanding but it helped the show not look bad.
To conclude, Lycoris Recoil is an amazing anime. The fact it is an original makes it even better that someone decided to combine so many contrasting elements into one season and made it work. Lycoris Recoil is well worth a watch.

Seiyuu Radio is not a masterpiece or anything but it is a fun show with bits of yuri in it and that's all it takes for me to recommend it despite my rating.
Animation wise, it is nothing special, colors are bright which would match the light tone of the series, characters are easy for eyes to enjoy. It works for what the show is trying to do.
The main characters are likable both visually and personality wise. Their characters contrast with each other yet care for each other in their own unique way. As Seiyuu Radio's genre is Comedy and Girls' Love, the characters fit
...
the bill in what makes this show works. The other characters exist but are not particularly memorable. They serve their purpose fine.
Soundwise, the show is not memorable, I don't particularly remember anything good nor bad about it. Again that makes it fine.
Storywise, the show is about two underage girls in the voice acting career who coincidentally end up as classmates and they both do not match the image of the characters they portray. They have different levels of success in their career and have different opinions on the industry at least initially. They learn to reconcile those differences as they work together. Given that 4 episodes have aired and each episode has its bit on another aspect of voice acting industry as well as dealing with how the main characters feel about one another, the pacing is great making good use of its time. However while the show addresses the themes, it does not promote thought provoking discussion on said themes taking the "tame" route out of the challenges of the Voice Acting Industry.
Overall fine show, it is worth a watch as long as one isn't expecting a masterpiece.
