'Vivy:Fluorite Eye's Song'- When I saw this unusual title and the genre "Music", nothing sparked my interest, but I decided to give it a try since it already had seven episodes aired and it was also one of my academic interests: Artificial Intelligence ( I'm an electrotecnic engineering student).
The first episode captivated me into this futuristic world where robots are being developed, just like in our world, however the POV is from Diva, an AI with the purpose of singing to make everyone happy. The concept was simple: AIs are limited and the algorithm requires a "goal" in order for information processing aka personality ... development, in human words. Diva's goal is singing in order to make everyone happy, but what if humans are inherently catastrophic, selfish and weak? What should an AI do to serve their purpose and make their manufacturer proud? There are immeasurable mysteries and ethical questions regarding to AI, and even though, this series doesn't thrive on these topics, our main character does and so do I.
I won't spoil much, but definitely recommend this if you're looking for character development, great music, AI world and, in general, a portrayal of a different point of view of our future life. BTW the ending is just as great as the first episode, so don't worry about that.

Devilman Crybaby is an animation about humanity, religion, politics and most importantly, about human emotions that control our world. strong emotions like fear, hatred and envy are seen as "evil", but when we are blinded for love, it could be as equally dangerous.
The story concept is quite unique and there's so much to unpack, as there is a variety of topics in discussion. Despite that, it's very simple to understand the main point the creators are trying to illustrate. plus there's a plot twist and who doesn't love that.
The animation can be a bit tricky. Sometimes it looks very charming and fun to watch, ... but sometimes it looks like weird CGI.
Won't talk much about the plotline content, but an issue for me is how the story develops in a fast-paced way and the characters' didn't really fit in as every decision felt "impulsive", like it was a way for the plot to progress. Another problem was the excessive sexual content that didn't add anything to it. At first it made sense as we were diving into the story and sexual desire is in fact a human emotion and therefore, related to the concept, but then it became more or less shock value.

All in all, it was entertaining and it did made me reflect about certain topics on the mechanism of our world and it made me remember how we'll all end up in hell...so live your life.

The God Of High School was an anime anticipated by many, including me, yet it felt disappointing and incomplete.
I was really excited to watch an anime with Asian mythology, epic fighting scenes and a well balanced plot, but I was left with just an extremely rushed story, with many predictable fighting scenes.
I really wanted more information disclosure and less of the "rushing to finish a chapter", but it was the latter that they decided to do. º
Webtoons are getting more popular and they are getting adapted into anime, which is good for people that are lazy to read and space bar ! But, ... even though there's potential for webtoons like "Noblesse", "Tower of God", "The God Of High School" to become an anime classic, since there's a huge fanbase supporting these, It's still very hard to get viewers so interested that they'll want to read the webtoon. For me, ' Tower of God' achieved that, but it's still very likely that these two are in the same category and will become fleeting memories of a seasonal anime.

This story centers around a super rich intelligent detective and another public detective. They have opposing personalities, yet they have to work together in order to solve mysteries and crimes around the city.

I feel like this is one of those animes that you watch for the main characters and not the story itself. Each episode has a "problem" and both of the main characters approach it with a different point of view. The comedy is a bit generic, but the characters are very likable, so you'll definitely enjoy watching it.

I really like the art as well. Kind of reminds me of Chinese anime, but ... better.

Character development: it better go from enemies-friends-lovers.

This is a story where we are able to see the perspective of four different characters that are all unconditionally related, whether it's love or friendship or past memories that tie them together.

Before each episode's "drama", we are able to get in to the mood by seeing the characters living their daily life and daydreaming. It's so simple, yet it roots its viewers about the realism of this story. Our lives aren't packed with action or emotions or reflective thinking. Sometimes we are just breathing and working and we'll all have an uncomfortable silence during our days.

Every episode we are able to slowly see character ... growth, but not in an outstanding way. It's normal and slow and extremely annoying to watch. And that's fine. This is real life. The characters are chaotic in their own way and that's why it upsets many viewers. It's the grasp of familiarity colliding with us.

Besides the story and the characters, I have to mention the camera work. During the dialogues, It's really nice to be able to see the character's surroundings. It somehow creates the reality that the characters are in. They are not just speaking or walking in a random street. It is the same exact street they walk everyday. And if you turn right, you'll see the park where they met. And if you walk 400m, you'll find the school. It reminds me that while we are watching one character's "important screen time", there's always going to be something going on the other side.

I can see why many people are annoyed at this series. I am too. I hate every single character except Haru. None of the characters are perfect, but the toxicity that some are portraying makes me extremely mad. At least we are on the same page on that. However, discrediting the work just because the character is making the wrong decision or being toxic is really stupid. The creator is not trying to make flawless relationships. Adulthood is a mess and if you think that " he/she shouldn't have done that ", please step out of your moral ground and think about your bad actions while you were in a relationship. AND if you don't have any experience, just be quiet and learn ??? If you meet a Rikuo or a Shinako in real life, you'll know exactly what you're going to do: ignore them. Because conflicting personalities exist. Insecurities exist. And grief may be there inside. PSTD too. Stop judging people like they are hell and acknowledge that people can be shitty sometimes. And it's your choice to forgive or leave.
Something that does bother me is that, I think people should first be happy with themselves before getting into a relationship, you know... fix your own problems before joining someone else's, but I'm pretty sure half of the couples in this world can't understand this concept and that's why the author decided to go with this type of drama. Emotionally supporting each other is also a perk of being in a relationship, but the border between toxicity and non-toxicity can easily be broken.

All in all, the last episode was a shipwreck. Haru is precious and she deserves someone stable and thoughtful. She didn't do anything morally wrong in the series but the way she clings on to her love is really childish. She should finish her high school degree instead of chasing a broke, insecure and ugly man. I hope Rikuo learns ways to boost his brain cells and self-esteem. Shinako needs a therapist before trying to date anyone. Rou needs to find someone for his age and stop looking at his dead brother's classmate/crush. But really, being happy and secure as an individual works wonders when getting in a relationship.

With all that I've said, I recommend everyone to at least watch a few episodes if you like romance/seinen, but don't expect wholesome or heart-warming.

If you're not watching this anime because of Its huge name title which reminds you of every single Isekai anime in the last four years, then you're mistaken.

This anime has such a refreshing and original idea. The MC is quite likable and every character has its own purpose. The storyline is entertaining, fun and engaging.
The art could be improved. It's not bad but also doesn't strike much.
Something that makes me sad is after "conquering" a certain character, they become supporting roles, and belong to the background of the main character. I wish there was more interaction or more side stories for each character, ... but since it's a 12 episode series, it was expected to end in a rushing way. (but, It makes sense since it's like a game where you just go to the next level. )

Comedy: it's somehow funny, but it's more like a heart-warming funny because the MC is very very naive.

Recommendation: We have a likable female protagonist and a reverse-harem. Watch the first episode, if you like Catarina, then you'll like the whole series.

There's also going to be a season 2 in 2021 !!!!

This was the only anime this season that I decided to wait until it's completed with its twelve episodes so i could watch it in one go and i'm so glad i waited.

Kakushigoto is a warm, slice-of-life and light-hearted anime that helps you take a pause in your current life. Watching from the perspective of a loving father, we are able to see for ourselves what is the definition of "parental love" and what kind of responsabilities being a parent is. Each episode, we see notable memories from the past that the main characters cherish and behind the curtains, we get glimpses of the present ... that conveys mystery and melancholy. Definitely a great way to catch the viewers' attention for the great final episode.

This manga adapted series is made for us to appreciate the relationship between a father and a daughter and see the struggles that both of them face. Children tend to think in a simple way to solve an issue and adults think further and make complex plans to ease their life. We treasure Hime's innocence and we admire Kakushi's strength as a solo parent.

Definitely recommend you to watch this. It's such an engaging anime with characters that you'll love. It's an anime that not only it's entertaining but also makes you reflect about your daily life.
The comedy will make you smile gently and you'll feel wholesome at the end.

STORY:
"A Whisker Away" tackles about teens' depression in a subtle way. This refreshing, yet heavy story centers on an eccentric girl that is in love with her classmate and with an intriguing opportunity risen in a summer festival, she receives a mask that transforms her into a cat, which helps her get closer to her classmate.

The literal translation of the title "Wanting to Cry, I Pretend to Be a Cat" sounds SO MUCH better.

The plot flows very naturally and the characters are explored in a very orderly way as we learn more and more about each one with every minute of screentime.
NOTE: ... I consider the girl as the main character and the rest as supporting tbh.
We are also able to quickly understand why the genre "Magic" happens to be here since it's unique concept is unfolded very early on.
It's clearly a romance story, but having cats and an unexplained phenomenon in a film makes everything more interesting (ask Studio Ghibli and Makoto Shinkai).

The animation is pretty good. Every single scenery could be your wallpaper and everything is drawn to ease the world building that it's needed so we can emerge to this realistic, but magical storyline.

I can relate to pretty much every single character in this. These struggles are universal. The mom that doesn't know how to act after a divorce, the child that locked her own feelings for safety, the friend that wants to support you but doesn't know how, love in a young age, trying to figure out who is your family and of course, the daily worries that we face with ourselves.
The vague sensation that the main character was depressed really hits home. She was persisting her love because she didn't want to think about her sadness. Honestly, my theory is that the problems that the main character faced with the fat cat are all just interpretations of her depression phases. Transforming into a cat so you can run away from reality and look for safety and approval, doubting your current life and having inner thoughts like "becoming a cat forever" – giving up on your mental recovery.

I hope people that watch this learn that most teenagers struggle in silence because of bad parenting and it's extremely hard to show your vulnerabilities to the world when you feel like no one will understand you. So please take care of your mental health and eventually you'll find someone to share your thoughts. Also, cats are very very precious.

Recommendation: I think you should give it a try if you're looking for a heartfelt, emotional, nostalgic and with a touch of fantasy anime.

STORY: Based on fictionalized versions of a poet/private investigator and a linguistic professor, during the 19th century of Japan. This series is your typical crime/mystery anime where each episode the characters solve a crime. However, it differs from other animes for its abstract writing, poems dialogue, off-centre storyline and unconventional art.

The characters are OK. There isn't much information on them, so there's not much depth on their personalities. There are like around 6-8 recurring characters each episode, yet they are there just to say "hi" or "yes". What's the point ?
The story looks unconnected. I don't know if it's because they are rushing ... the anime adaptation from the novel, as they left some unfinished business or the novel is really this ~ inconsistent~.
I'm six episodes in and I still don't understand the friendship between the two main characters. They contradict themselves every single episode.

And I don't know what the author is trying to portray here. Is it just a normal fanfiction detective story that happened to be during the 19th century based on real people or do you want to discuss topics that Japan faced during the Westernization while making an entertaining crime story? What's the point of establishing real life characters if you're not going to at least address historical elements? Pick a side.

Each episode, the context of prostitution comes in. Yes, it was normal during that time, but the over sexualisation of women is really uncomfortable. The author is making a "light and relaxed daily life of male poets facing crimes together" type of story and I guess women are just an entertainment for them. I don't think it's okay to write a story like this, when we all know the struggles women faced during that time. At least have a female character that isn't portrayed as "disposable", if you want to make a light-hearted version of the 19th century in Japan.


Leaving that aside, the mysteries scenes are well made, but they all seem very predictable. There's a pattern that is repeating every episode, which is " the first new person that appears on the screen is probably the culprit". I guess there's consistency here.

Do I recommend this? Well, I think you should try a few episodes. I really like the art, but is it worth my time? Is it entertaining? Yes, who doesn't like wasting brain cells trying to solve a 2D crime. Is it memorable? No.

Future Folktales is a series with a different Arabian fable every episode: a short tale that teaches a moral. Each episode, there's a grandmother that tells a fascinating story to her three grandchildren ( four, including me, the viewer) so they can learn that our modern-day dilemmas are easily solved by a simple story. Wisdom comes from the past.

The stories (so far) are all located in a similar background, but the characters are different. Also, IMO there are some stories that have a meaningful ending, while others are quite bland. Still relaxing though.

I'm watching this because this is a ~very~ comforting anime and it's ... like a small break of my daily life. I do recommend this if you liked "Folktakes from Japan". Of course, the art is more modern, but it has the same essence.
