Synopsis: One day, Fuyuki Hinata has a premonition-dream that one day the world will fall into chaos and become crushed by an unknown entity that seems larger than life. The Hinata household is on fire and the entire Keroro platoon is encased in stone during the dream. Then, the worst imaginable thing happens...Keroro is completely obliterated. After the initial shock of losing his best friend and witnessing the demise of Earth itself, Fuyuki instantely wakes up to find no one but himself in the family living room watching occult DVDs and reading articles and books about Easter Island [obviously feel asleep half way through a ... documentary, most likely]. Alisa Southerncross then comes into the house unexpectedly and throws an ancient artifact at him, causing him to lose his balance and fall off the couch. He greets Alisa, comments that it looks like the sergeant, and she then says that he obviously likes the occult so she got that for him and leaves as soon as she came. Fuyuki realizes that is must be from Rano Raraku, the most famous quarry where half of the moai statues are still standing in Easter Island. Then, the Keroro platoon comes in and floods the entire house for a new invasion machine that has to do with water [which, all too often, goes wrong...]. Natsumi promptly orders the five of them to cleanup the mess right after the water drains. As Keroro and the rest of the platoon clean the underground base, Fuyuki finds Keroro and tells him about the statue Alisa gave him and promptly hands it to him asking about it. Keroro doesn't understand and Fuyuki explains that it's a "moai", a statue only found at Easter Island. Keroro thinks he's talking about Angol Mois, so Fuyuki hands him a photography book of Easter Island and Keroro flips through the pages as Fuyuki tries to question why Alisa would give him a moai. Being the greedy and deep-thinking alien that he is, he sees the beauty of the island and wants to take it for himself so the platoon can have an entire island as a brand new invasion base [complete with rocket and submarine launch stations!! >8D]. So, Keroro invites only Fuyuki on an excursion to Easter Island with him. Fuyuki agrees with much surprise, and in the dead of night with the help of Angol Mois they fly off from the house in Keroro's prized anti-gravity speeder. After a long time in flight, they run into a huge storm cell and are fearlessly chased by a ginormous entity flying in the air. The entity causes them to descend with a beat-up and irreparable speeder and eventually both fall into the ocean. Fuyuki wakes up to find himself and later Keroro have been found by two actual Easter Island natives named Io and Rana, whom are giving them food and accommodations while on the island. After this, Keroro gives Fuyuki an extra Keron badge so his mind will automatically translate from Rapa Nui to Japanese and communicate with them. In a brief conversation between everyone, Fuyuki and Keroro meet the "mana", whom are completely harmless entities of the natives from long ago. As well, Io and Rana are surprised to see that Fuyuki has the missing moai. Then, everything takes a turn for the dramatic and action packed as it's a race for the clock, the rest of the Keroro Platoon trying to find Keroro, and the salvation of Earth as AkuAku is bent on taking out human kind as we know it and continuing on the invasion of Earth.

The movie starts out very slow, yes. I can admit to that. I mean, by that description I just gave you are already technically 22 minutes into the movie [the entire movie is 60 minutes]. And, you even have to go a lot more into it to even get to the extremely action-packed parts of it with the battles of AkuAku. However, for some reason I find it completely worth it because at the end of it all I am left feeling refreshed and wanting more of these kind of Keroro Gunso stories. This is due to the fact that only about 1-2 writers for the Anime have this sort of style, and the rest are just kind of silly or wacky or heavily use some characters when a lot more need to be used.

The music is decent. I am not going to say that it has amazing music [the intro ruins that chance, and the ending makes up for it a little bit]. For background music and sound effects they use those directly from the actual Anime. So, can't say anything because I like that music a lot. Especially the more "serious" music. However, there is some really gorgeous music that is only in this movie which is a nice touch.

The overall tone is very mixed. At the very beginning, you get a shock as Fuyuki is running from something and then you find out the Earth is being destroyed and Keroro literally gets blown up. Then, you find out it's just a dream and then it's all happy and friendly for almost a half-an-hour. And, unfortunately....the "dramatic" scenes between the characters are extremely pushed into you [Ku.......ku......KURURU SOUCHO!! *camera pans up very fast*]. So, that completely deflates my exited mood and wanting to cry. Because, I am just really pushed into feeling dramatic when before I was really enjoying the action.

The characters. Oh.....the characters. I might understand the reason why AkuAku eats them and sucks their "energy" [we've seen this in the Keroro universe, remember? Nyrororos? And water?], but why do they have to be SO. DAMN. PATHETIC. The Keroro platoon is useless until the last 20-ish minutes and even then they are still useless to really do anything to AkuAku. It gives me the feeling from the producers, "Hey. We aren't having the Keroro Platoon doing anything except for Keroro himself! And, we need more dramatic scenes and fighting. Have them try to hit AkuAku and then get their a**es kicked all over the place! That works 8D" Because, we might as well assume that because that's what is happening in a good chunk of the movie. I mean, even Giroro is pathetic and he is supposed to be the platoon's infantry for gawd sakes! Oh, and speaking of AkuAku. He is really strange. I mean, his weakness is WATER. And, that is what everyone uses to try and defeat him [resulting in much a** kicking and dramatic scenes to/for Keroro's subordinates]. And, as well his voice is kind of hard to listen to. Especially in Giroro's "body". They definitely could of used a nicer seiyuu for him. As well, extreme main characters [Natsumi, Aki, Koyuki, and Saburo] get teased at us. Each of them get about 2 minutes on screen IN TOTAL. Which, irritates me to no end due to the fact that I really like Fuyuki and Giroro as characters but Giroro is so pathetic it burns and Fuyuki is in the spotlight ONCE AGAIN [already was the character in focus for movie 3]. I mean, I wanted so much more out of this. But, Keroro Gunso ends up having SOOOOOOO much "missed potential". The AkuAku versions of Kururu, Tamama, and Dororo were amazing and then they end up having 30 second-1 minute battles with Keroro , Fuyuki, Io and Rana and spat back out one by one until Giroro was the most used one ["Giroro" was used for more than half the movie]. So, I was disappointed in that aspect. As well, Keroro's "new" version was a plant that grew magically from the moai that looked like him and Fuyuki's tears. Ummmmmmmmmmmm.....okay. Not to mention, AkuAku and plant Keroro had so much power that it was ridiculous. I mean, they both could punch each other to opposite sides of the island. So, yeah. I didn't think that was very good to plan like that. Oh, and Keroro was shouting like a super seine it was weird because he doesn't usually act like that [I guess, super power up anybody?].

I guess there was a lot to expect and we got..........about 69-85% of it? Depends on the person, of course. But, I am not going to say that "This movie is horrible, guys! Don't watch it!" Because....well, I would be lying through my teeth. I really enjoyed this movie, and I was very touched by it. However, the plant Keroro thing and AkuAku being too powerful [plus AkuAku's weakness to water], the depressingly pathetic-supposed-to-be-awesome characters, and the intro really dragged it down for me. But, I still liked it. I don't know. I guess I will always have a soft spot for those cute, random, and wacky little frogs we call keronians
