Oh Boy! Where do I start?
Art:
The art was flakey yet cutsie at the same time time. It was very bad Studio Ghibli-esque....which doesn't suit the material.
Sound:
There was terrible, cheap sounding music (when they can be bothered to put some in) and (most of the time, unconvincing) voice acting. Akuma sounds like a brain-damaged Rocky Balboa on crack.
...
Story:
The story was not actually terrible...though a little confusing. In the beginning the narrative is unparallel, which would seem quite clever if it was done more clearly, like for example, like if it was, oh... I don't know.. consistent?
Avoid this if you can.
That is all.
Now...I need to find my copy of the first movie to get that mess out of my head......or if that fails.....
...a gun.

So disappointed in this anime that I can't be bothered with long paragraphs, so I'll just make warning as quick as possible.....
Story ( 6 )
Okay. Great concept and starts off well but don't think the makers had a clue where to take the story and got too far ahead of themselves. It's hard to decide where the finish of this anime should've been. The last episode is overambitous and just plain confusing. The Episode before would've been too depressing. Great twist but just spoiled by the lack of direction it took after that. Also some quite funny fanservice/innuendo takes place too.
Art ( 7 )
One
...
of the best aspects of the anime. The colouring to show the difference between the two world is quite clever and the characters, including the 'villains' are well designed.
Sound ( 7 )
The other better attribute of this anime. Rocking Opening, catchy Ending and the background music during the shows themselves really sets the mood for what's on screen.
Character ( 6 )
Some backstories are great, some are no-existent, but it doesn't matter because it all goes to hell during the last finale anyway.
Enjoyment ( 6 )
Would've been bit more if it wasn't for some of the points I mentioned above.
Overall ( 6 )
Same as above. Don't bother with the finale and just end it with the depressing previous episode. If that still won't do.......just don't bother.

Just a couple of little pointers:
First off all, this is kind of a Shounen spoof, so prepare yourself.....if you go into this taking it seriously, you'll hate it. You'll get so much more enjoyment out of it if you just take it for what it is.
Secondly, It's a great take on the Shounen/Harem Hybrid.
Three, despite it clearly mocking itself, there are some beautiful moments...mostly during montages over the group bonding.
Next, the intro music rocks!
...
Lastly, I couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole thing.

Story - 7
Although the target audience was probably teenage girls....there was enough of a kind of Shounen feel to this to keep this 25 Year Old Male interested...kinda like a reverse Bleach/Buso Renkin.....and that was good enough for me. The nice...albeit cheesy....sentiments in the last couple of episodse raised a slight smile. Slapstick 'Looney Tunes-like' subplot with the stepsister laying out traps is also quite amusing.
Art - 3
This was one of the biggest problems for me....and would probably given this an 8 or at least a 7 Overall score if it wasn't for the art. Why? Two factors........A) The artist doesn't seem to know how
...
to keep things within it's outlines or adds outlines that don't make any sense. It's unrealistic.......tell me...how many people do you see walking by in this world where you can see their eyes IN FRONT OF their long hair. No excuses for this at all........and looks even worse when combined with B) The water-coloured background cheapens an already suffering drawing.....maybe the artist(s) should just work with black and white. This would get a 2 at the most if it wasn't for the impressive detail on every character's eyes.
Sound - 4
Not a fan of the theme.....especially when it's used mid episode for no reason whatsoever.
Character - 8
This contributed a lot towards the overall score . All character's backstories....personal feelings....and traumas are portrayed well. You feel their pain. Their loneliness. You are drawn in sympathetically to most of the characters more and more with every personal revelation. The one downside to this aspect is that the protagonist's constant complaining in the early episodes will give you the stong urge to give her a nice....hard.....high five.....in the face......with a chair, but by the end you'll forget that you ever once felt that way about her.
Enjoyment - 7
Despite the genre and the possible target audience. I enjoyed this a lot more than I probably should have. A lot of it due to the funny humour and serious lessons learned. Two totally different sides of one pretty enjoyable coin.
All of those points mentioned above bring me to my Overall score of a fair 6.

"Haven't seen so many strange letters since the last time I placed a personal ad"
You're right there James. Being a Pokemon fan as I kid I enjoyed watching this movie....
It is a family film to be enjoyed by adults and children alike and one-liners like the one quoted above will keep the adults amused while the kids enjoy it for the hell of it. There are times when the 'fourth wall' is broken too that made me want to jump up and high-five someone.
But if you are the grumpy kind of person that wants this movie picked apart......then fine....here it is......I must say a couple
...
of things from an adult point of view too.
Although this movie plays a bit deeper into it's characters than the first two movies, unlike it's predecessors, the third instalment just seems like an extended episode of the TV series......which.....if the first two films were like this too....would've been expected and acceptable. The only time when it really feels like a movie is during the prologue and the title sequence.....but once that first Pokemon battle starts over the opening credits.....you know you've really seen all this before.
I also have a bit of a concern with the campaigning of this movie also.....the movie's subtitle contains the word 'Unown', so you assume that the whole thing is going to be focused on the Unown but, somehow, as the film goes on, you find yourself tricked into accepting Entei as the main villain, even though deep down you know that Entei isn't....then finally...at the end....you awake from the trance.
So there....I managed the impossible.... I picked apart a Pokemon movie down to the bone. Thank you MyAnimeList for making me rip apart my childhood. It's done.
If you're like me and had a good childhood because of this franchise then you will only read the first two paragraphs......
........if you regret your childhood and everything about it ever since Santa didn't get you that present that you asked for for Christmas.......take advice from the rest.

STORY:
Pretty good origin of the character. Though it can seem a little long-winded and you can't help but feel that there should be a little more of Devilman himself in it.
ART:
Gory as hell...if you like that sort of thing. I personally do, but it may not be to everybody's taste.
SOUND:
...
What you'd really expect for it's time. You'll either love or hate Devilman's voice.
CHARACTER:
Some depth there. Main character's human form and his love interest pretty typical for the genre in it's time.
ENJOYMENT:
Loved it. Love the backstory. The concept. The Protaganist. Everything. Started to get a little impatient from waiting to see the 'hero' in action though.....but when I did I enjoyed it.....though I will admit the action didn't last as long as I would've wanted it to.....considering three 45 minutes or so of build up to it.
OVERALL:
Didn't know much about the character before but after this I can't wait to see more. A great introduction to the franchise.....and if you like the idea of Japan's answer to Ghost Rider......then I strongly recommend it.

Funny...A Little Confusing in places.....Loving the 80's 'Streets-Of-Ragey' Music over the battle scenes......Every Character has something to bring.......Very Silly at times but the better for it.

Story - 7
Basic but enjoyable plot. But don't expect to be satisfied with the ending.
Art - 10
Great!! Impressed with seeing anime zombies for the first time. Blood spatter and it's canvas detailed well.
Sound - 9
Awesome Opening Theme. Though none of the Ending Themes really stood out. I score this on the opening alone.
Character - 8
...
This isn't much of a character's story. But they deliver the basics of what you need to know about some of their backgrounds.
Enjoyment - 10
Like I said basic plot, but kept me hooked all the way. A little too much up-skirts, breasts and nudity for me though. Not much of a bad thing....but if I was in the mood for that....I'd stick on some Hentai.
Overall - 8
If there was more closure at the end...this would at least be a 9.
