I'm still watching this anime, but as a hardcore SideM fan..I LOVE THIS ANIME TO PIECES!!

First, the characters. Going off of Episode 0, the OVA, I expected this anime to be a strong one. And so far? It doesn't disappoint! I like how it focuses more on the idol's daily lives rather than the performance aspect of idol anime. It's different for sure, but it's amazing.

And the music!! Aaah.. Even if they re use some songs, they're all fantastic! The new songs for the anime are also fantastic! I really want a full version of Beit's TOMORROW DIAMOND and Jupiter's Over AGAIN, they're such good ... songs!

The episodes are funny, but wholesome and cute at the same time. I like the little cameos from the other idols in the game, and it's not too overwhelming having this much idols because they're all focused on well. (Thank god the entire cast isn't in this though- I don't think I could handle that!)

It does a better job - no, way better - job than Cinderella Girls did when it comes to giving each idol equal focus. At first, especially going off the original iDOLM@STER anime, I was iffy on the idea of units, but it's MUCH easier to manage such a big group of characters in units.. aah..
Also!! Shiki's so cute in this anime!!! And so is Touma!! Yay!

The art is adorable! It's much more like the original anime, with improvements of course. Can I just say how adorable Shiki looks in this art style? There's not a lot of wonky looking shots like Cinderella Girls either, everything looks very clean and nice!

I love this anime so far! 10/10! I'll be rewatching it a bunch!!

First time watching a Love Live anime as it airs.. wooooo
However, especially with the current episodes.. This rainbow isn't as colorful as it seems.

Episode 1 was fine, amazing at times. It introduced the characters (Ayumu, Yuu, and Setsuna so far) fine. The insert songs were nice as well, and so was the animation. So..what went wrong?

Ayumu. Ayumu is what went wrong.
Her character started to go on a downwards SLOPE with Episode 10. Episode 11 boosted this even more. The "Please just belong to me" line in particular. Yes, I get it. Ayumu feels abandoned. She feels as if.. Yuu only focuses on the others. Yes, ... Ayumu is still young but..
You can work out these issues in other ways. You don't have to be so extreme..
And that's where the problem is.
Ayumu can't control herself here, she's too attached to Yuu and won't let her be around anyone else without being like this.
She wanted to change herself by becoming an idol, right? She's not there yet.

Yuu's also a lot more flat in the later episodes. Even flatter (as a character) than the iM@S anime producers. And that's saying a lot.

She..doesn't show any growth. She's..always just there, she's boring.

Also where are they going with Nijigaku as a group? Are they going to form in the anime? And there's no insert songs in Ep 10 or 11.. yes, the episodes were more..heavy but having no songs just.. feels so lazy. This is an idol anime! Where's the music?
For what songs there ARE though.. they're all very good. I like Shizuku's character arc.
Though having a second focus episode for each of them here..it's going to be unbalanced. It already is.

There's a lot this anime needs to work on. It's.. a lot like School Idol Days with the forced drama and heavier plot, and I don't like it?
But I'll wait until later episodes to form my "final opinion", per say.
