I was initially motivated to read this manga because I saw it got an anime adaptation that looked pretty interesting. The story started off strong; I was drawn into the world + the characters and watching how the immortal protagonist developed as a result of the events and people around them. But it went downhill after a particular arc with one of the main antagonists... and then it just kept going downhill because the author decided that antagonist should have decedents that continually harass the protagonist throughout the ages and the protag is like: "Hm, this is kinda weird and uncomfortable
