Baccano! (Anime) add
Baccano! is one of the highly regarded and recommended animes that truly deserves to be treated as such.

I have to begin by saying that the first few episodes are some of the most confusing episodes of anime I have ever seen but that even if you find yourself thinking the same thing, it's very worth it to continue watching to the end. You're introduced to a large cast of characters each with their own interesting backgrounds and personalities and at first it can be really confusing figuring out who is who. The time skips also add to this confusion but again don't let this ...

Rave (Manga) add
Rave Master was one of my first mangas so I might be slightly biased towards it but don't say I didn't warn you! I also won't be using my review to compare this to Fairy Tail.

Basically, Rave Master has it all. You want fighting? It has that. Romance? Got you covered. Comedy? It has some of that too. This manga has a bit of every genre in it so it appeals to a wide range of people. The story isn't all that special, but it is executed well and is supplemented by some nice art and fantastic characters.

The fights aren't too dragged out like ...

Preliminary (18/25 eps)
I'm not sure why this show seems to be getting so much hate, but before reading my review let me say that I didn't read the novels or anything.

First off, I agree with what most people say here, that the premise of SAO is very interesting and that the concept wasn't executed as well as it could have been, but it still did a satisfying enough job to keep me hooked. I watched the first 10 episodes in one day and still wanted to keep watching. I did feel somewhat cheated out of a lot of potential episodes though because they kept showing seemingly ...

Gintama (Manga) add
Preliminary (Unknown/709 chp)
This seems like what would be produced by someone on crack and acid at the same time. Okay maybe not that crazy, but I'd say pretty close to it. At the same time, this manga is so loveable.

The three main characters, Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura, are some of my favorite characters in any manga or anime because of their personalities and interactions with each other . And it's nice because it can be so weird yet still usually have some sort of storyline to it. Although there are some chapters that are just completely out of the rest of the story, they're still really ...

Gyo was the first horror manga I ever read and it was also probably the weirdest manga I have ever read.

Freaky fish run rampant in this manga and not in a cool "yay fish" way. The fish get creepy and even beyond creepy.

The plot is... wait there was a plot? Hard to notice. I guess that makes sense because this is a horror manga but still. There were more panels about the freakishly grotesque fish-things than actual talking about what the heck was going on in the book.

This manga turned me off to wanting to read any other horror manga because of how ...

This was one of the first published manga works of Tite Kubo; the creator the phenomenon that is now Bleach.

The story revolves mainly around the characters of Elwood Shepherd and Gamma Akutabi who are trying to collect the 12 Rings of the Dead. When all 12 are collected, supposedly you gain immortality. Not too original of a storyline, but Kubo develops the idea pretty well and the actual story does have a few twists. There's a lot of action and fighting which I typically like, but it could be said that there are too many fighting scenes. So many that the plot seems like ...

Hellsing (Manga) add
What do you get when you put vampires in the 1940s during World War II? Hellsing.

It's an interesting idea that's executed generally well in this manga. The main character's name is Alucard, and he's basically the strongest vampire in the world. Alucard and co. typically don't fight against Nazis, they mostly fight against other supernatural forces. The Hellsing organization only care about defending London, and they do whatever they need to do so they can keep London safe. There are only 10 volumes and the series doesn't seem too dragged out. It does get extremely gorey at points, but hey it's a war what do you ...

Mixed Feelings
The storyline of Hero Tales isn't really anything special. A used-to-be nobody kid named Taitou finds out that he's actually the incarnation of a star. When he gets too angry he gets out of control and only his sister can stop him from destroying himself. I don't really want to explain it here I'm too lazy but I'll just say it disappointed me coming from Hiromu.

Taitou gets really obnoxious around the middle of the series and is so whiny it made me want to stop watching. I almost did stop but I had to keep watching to see if it got better. It did for ...
