It really hasn't been long since I've been into the whole "Yaoi/shounen ai" fandom, but so far I've became a dedicated fan, having gone as far as reading/watching almost every manga/anime/ova the fandom has to offer, and among them, "Hybrid Child" holds a special place in my heart.
Story: (9)
The story is somehow different, I'm used to yaoi being placed in a much lighter atmosphere so hybrid child presented a pleasantly different feel than the other shows.
The show focuses on three different stories that are not connected to each other, each one of them tell us more about the relationships between men and their
...
hybrid childs. The first one was a good start to the show, I found it very sweet and it brought tears to my eyes. the second story wasn't as good, but as it progressed a bit I sympathized more with the characters. The best story has to be the third that tell the story of the maker of the hybrid child, I spent the last two episodes in tears really.
All in all, the stories were nice and though they were short we learned enough about the characters and their back-stories.
Art: (8)
If you've watched Sekaiichi Hatsukoi and Junjou Romantica then you will be familiar with the art style. A Major flaw is that all characters have the same face XD But It's not a major problem for me because I'm pretty much used to it. As for the quality of the art, it's actually better than SIH and JR.
Sound (8)
The OVAs have no opening, only an ending which goes well with the overall mood of the show. The ost was appropriate as well and the seiyuus were all amazing.
Characters (9)
Although the characters were, in certain aspects, very similar to Nakamura-sensei's other works, they still have their own backgrounds and stories to tell. The characters are a very strong point of this show. There wasn't any annoying characters or ones you would hate or dislike. They are easy to relate to characters and I believe you'd come to like them all.
Enjoyment and overall (10)
Having just finished the OVAs for the third time already, you can pretty much tell I enjoyed it, though I'm not really sure if enjoy is the right term, as the story is a true "tear jerkier" Nevertheless, among all the other shounen ai/Yaoi series out there, Hybrid Child, is indeed a special one and you couldn't go wrong watching it, whether you were a Yaoi fan or not, because you will be swept away by the beauty of the story and relationships this show offers.

Year 2012 was a good year for anime, it gave us shows like Another, K and Chuunibyou demo koi ga Shitai and then there's Btooom!
Our main lead is a 22 year old Neet who finds himself on a deserted tropical island were he and several other people mush fight each other using only bombs! Just like the online game Btoom he used to play.
It's a situation were either kill or be killed and the fittest shall survive. It's not every day when you come across a survival anime with this execution.
I have to say I was really drawn to Btoom!'s story that
...
I watched the whole thing in 6 continuous hours. The idea of choosing people you would wish to disappear and for them to actually disappear only to be taken into this "game" was really good!
We get to learn about the characters backgrounds, some you'll sympathize with and some you'd wish they'd just go and die, your emotions will be completely moved by each development.
The fight scenes are great, I was initially worried about the idea of ONLY using bombs, but that thought was soon forgotten seeing how cool is it to use each kind of BIMs for different purposes.
Those fights would be so intense that sometimes you'll be at the edge of your seat watching everything closely waiting to see what shall happen next.
If there's one thing for sure, gaming experience can save your ass in here lol.
It is rare when you see a show that only gets better, each episode is better than the last, it brought the game out to be played in real life to be played by real people who got nothing but their survival instinct, luck and a whole lot of Bombs to make it out of the island safe.
The art wasn't consistent at times but that's about the only little issue in the show, the sound was amazing the two openings are awesome and the voice acting as well.
Well, as you can already tell, I really liked this anime, made me want to go straight and review it, cause it's not everyday you come across an anime that is trying to be something and something different than the other shows you've seen. It just pains my heart to know that this was the worst selling anime for 2012 :/
It was not perfect, no, but it gave me a thrilling experience and I was definitely entertained and in the end that's what it matters...
BUT I NEED A SECOND SEASON T_T :'( :'(

I initially wanted to write a review of SNK after the series is finished..But I just couldn't ignore such a series and I ended up here...sigh
Of course now that the series didn't end yet I would add my opinion of the upcoming episodes once they're aired so the ratting may differ (I hardly think it would) For now I would review episodes 1-11.
Overrated and Over-hyped were the two words that kept me away from watching this show as they did for some ppl. I didn't want to be disappointed. Because normally when everyone keep telling you how great sth you end up getting
...
high expectations and as I read low-rated reviews as well, I was beginning to question the show.
Finally I decided to forget everything I've read and heard and actually watch the show and GOD am I GLAD I did.
First couple of episodes were good..but...well they were rather typical and somewhat depressing, but it got all better when I got to the third episode and at the end of the fifth it was already 5 am but I remember saying F**K SLEEP and actually continued watching XD With such cliffhangers it is hard to not continue.
The story is amazing, though I thought it was weird when I read the summary but I came to really like it. It's not completely original, but the pace and execution is amazing and that's what's so great about it. Instead of having each episode talk about a single event in which most of action anime do, the episodes are connected and each event leads to the next. The story is not all about unnecessary fights, there are full episodes that contain ZERO action but are still entertaining as they give us a chance to get into the character heads and helps us understand them better.
STORY 9/10
The art is different than the art in most anime. There's actually a unique design for each character including the titans which u would expect to be all the same. Because it's different it might now appeal to everyone but it's something you get used to after a few episodes so it's okay. The Animation is a complete win for this show, truly amazing.
ART 10/10
The sound was great, the opening fits the show perfectly, the ending was good too, they were both appropriate for the show and the background music was great But the voice acting...was WOW. great job there
Sound 10/10
Mikasa remained my favorite character throughout the episodes. Some ppl say she's an emotionless badass character that don't seem real at all, well I'm with you on the badass part but Mikasa actually shows a great deal of emotions especially towards Eren, she cries and gets unsure and loses her focus just like any normal person would do, but she as many characters in this show went through too much so the way they act is justified.
I first wasn't sure if I would like Eren, he was too angry and too determined for his own good, but later on he reflected on how he was and now he's my 2nd favorite. I heard some ppl say he makes irrational decisions, but that's not the case at all, if you've watched the recent episodes you'll get what I mean. Eren's character developed greatly but there's still a little typical-ness to him.
There are many other characters including Armin, who's may be physically weak but his brain is certainly isn't. Many characters die which is a normal thing, even if you've been trained so well to fight, a real battle is different, it's gives off a realistic feel to the show. But I just wished I could see more...
Oh and another thing SASHA deserves the best Comic Relief Award
CHARACTERS 8/10
As for enjoyment you can already tell I did, you are on the edge of your seat throughout the whole thing. You can actually get powerful feelings from this show, you'll be scared, angry, determined, it's just amazing.
Don't judge the show before you actually give it a chance, I'm surprised the show has haters, but you know what they say how much haters you have tell how successful you are and that's the case here.
Faith in future anime RESTORED.

There are two reasons that would make u want to write a review on MAL, at most cases it's either a review for an anime you enjoyed so much that you had to give it a review or watched one that made u regret ever watching it...and for me it was the later ...
Never in my life did I think I'd encounter an anime so hateful that I would wish I never even watched it!
I've watched a couple of bad animes as in poor plot or characters, but never came to hate them at least there was a character or two to love
...
or there would be a lot of funny moments to make up for it
But this show is just different... it was different in so many ways
I have to say I started watching the anime cause I was bored and was looking for an easy laugh, so I searched high school anime and the title caught my eye, the Synopsis made me think it'll be a simple straight forward anime and it was short so I clicked on the first episode.
The story started lightly, typical high school setting, the pacing was fine but at first it felt generic, like any normal high school anime would be...it was around episode 6 that I found my self thinking "Shit just got serious!"
From then on I knew for sure that this wasn't your average highschool anime.
I gave the story a 6
The art was good I actually liked it, wasn't anything special though same goes for the sound..but gotta say, the opening is misleading :P being happy and all. Voice acting was good and so were the background music
I gave Art/sound a 7
At first it was easy to get the characters, they were so generic but as I went on they turned out to be truly MESSED UP! Damn! From the main male character (I don't know about you but he's my most hated character right now) to the leading females to the supporting cast
we weren't given much background information about the characters and as I said they were generic at the beginning And quite frankly I HATED THEM ALL!
so I wasn't sure what rating should I give it, in the end I gave it a 5 just because they turned out to be something else other than what I imagined
I didn't enjoy this anime, in fact I'm sure some scenes will stay with me for a while (Shiver) each episode was getting more messed up that before and by the 8th episode my mind was screaming for me to stop and I skipped to the final episode and had my mind settle with a horrifying ending. I didn't see the ending coming but for some reason I actually felt relieved. That at least it ended.
I gave this part a 1
Overall School Days is a tragic psychological anime with a horrifying ending and a hated cast (at least for me).
But I was fair by rating it a 5 overall, It isn't an anime I'd recommend to anyone I know but It actually presented a new thing even if I hate it.
Unless you were in the mood to get really pissed at fictional characters, don't watch it ^_^
This is my first review, feedback is appreciated and I apologize if it was too long.
