Moral of the movie. Never hesitate to ask your friends for help. But then again, this would have been just a 1 episode season 2.5 instead of a feature length movie.
The plot was contrived and artificial that the payoff ending fell flat instead of actually evoking some emotion. There is nothing to see here in terms of story which marred the good part of this movie, which is the animation. It felt like this movie was made for a quick cash grab. I expected it to be a great tide-over until next year's 3rd season but it made me rather
...
lose appetite on the series as a whole.

Is the phone nana is using run by chatgpt? because it is straight up spewing out ridiculous predictions. nanao has the power to nullify talennt. the very thing that the talentless needs in order to combat the talented and yet this is the first guy you off? the fact that the gov;t was able to secretly round up all the talented and secretly off them one by one in this island with no one the wiser is also absolutely ridiculous. Ive done some suspension of alot of major disbelief on a lot of shows, and this one so far takes the
...
cake. and dont get me started on the girl with the healing powers.
I just cant get myself to root for nana the same way i can root for light yagami with all the ridiculous story premise despite her justified reasons. plus everyone is just plain stupid. there was some hope when the white haired guy showed abit of intelligence, like he could be the L to nana's Light. My disappoint was immeasurable and my day completely ruined. sure the students may be arrogant and this is not a feel good story, but i could never find myself to be ok with the premise just outright dismissing them all as "enemies". it's like an edgy teenager with alot of anger for the world wrote this.
i just cant feel like i can go on with this anime, so i just watched the first 3 episodes and watched the last eipsode in 2x speed hoping that there might be some good ending. there was not. the "detective" weirdo student is still just as clueless as the other students. to sum up this anime in one word, it would be "frustrating". it was not fun, nor entertaining to watch. it could be a great torture medium though. the only reason why i gave it a 3 instead of 1 is because i like the character designs, especially nana and the white haired guy. and also the animation is not that great, but better than average. so id have to at least appreciate the effort.

The premise has already got me scratching my head. Everyone just went in anyway because of FOMO? I would say the writing is abit sloppy if not totally. Like the plot was hastily written so that MC can eliminate Kira?
And I can see if you would compare this to Ao Ashi and would prefer AA because of its realism. And others would prefer BL because of the "action", "psychological", "thriller". For me, the fiction is just so convoluted that I'm having a hard time suspending my disbelief. And you can't say that this anime is not about realism
...
when it bases all it's premises on a lot of real world stuff like Japan only making it to group 16 all the time and mentioning real world players like Messi, Ronaldo, Pele. Though I give props for them on creating a pro fictional character. But yeah, if you follow this story to its end, realistically, it would be as follows.
"Ironically, vowing to disprove the convoluted and childish plan of JFU, Kira left Japan to hone his skills and was able to qualify as a national player for another country and defeated Japan with their now "best in the world" striker. What poetic justice."
This show is like Assasination Classroom x Gantz. It has the cringeness of the former and the psychological thriller of the latter. It might have made for a great show if it were not for the awful dialogue and egotistical theme. What made this bad is that all the cringe dialogues are from the adults like the lady that is mastermind of blue lock and ego jinpachi. It seems like they are children in the body of adults. I would probably have no problem watching this if the mode of elimination is not football. Or any other team sport for that matter. It's just not logical. That's why football evolved into a team sport that it is today because "football 0" was probably boring with the same gameplay that everyone is a forward. Heck this could just be Gantz lite.
If you are looking to scratch your Ao Ashi itch, this is not the show for you. However if you're looking for a shounen action thriller anime, Blue lock will scratch that egotistical itch.
There is a great thing about it though. The action scene animations are great. I would say even better than what I saw in Chainsaw Man so far. It gives you those spine tingling goose bumps as typical of all shounen action animes.

Came for the ecchi, stayed for the plot
I must say, I was expecting a horribly written isekai ecchi from reading the low score reviews. But I was surprised to find a gem. The anime makes fun of itself. It is also littered with alot of puns, which is probably the main reason why alot of people hated it. But I love puns. Sure there are alot of tropes but I also enjoyed them. I knew what I was walking into. And the premise is really well written, there are no convoluted plots that ruined the anime for me.
The
...
character development was really nice and well paced. I cant wait for season 2 to see Porta's story. I love all the characters. But I especially love Mama and her acting.
I also love the scene transitions.
I will dare say that its a great anime to watch with your mother. Especially if the both of you have a really great relationship. I'm not sure if it will be enjoyed by children who are currently having a rough relationship with their mothers as it mostly brings out the issues that usually plagues a mother/child relationship. But all in all, definitely a solid recommendation.

Ive watched previous GITS shows and out of all the shows, this is probably the less philosophical one, which I liked. I never liked the philosophical monologues. I use my brain alot during working hours and I would just like to be entertained after a hard days work and turn off my brain and able to focus more on the story.
I also like the story. Very good pacing with probably 1 filler which I enjoyed very much.
I love the music, it is a nice change to the series, somewhat refreshing even, especially the OP song. I
...
also liked the old one, which has that Bulgarian folk music vibe. But yeah, the change is welcome. The sound in the series is also nice, I like that waterdrop sound effect whenever the post human thing is brought into focus.
The only bad thing about this series is the CGI animation, but it is still palatable. Overall, I found the series enjoyable and wanting for more.

I have not played the game that this is based on which is DQ V. And I heard that people were angry they did not used the original Akira animation style. Considering that, I still find the animation very nice. I like the artstyle and the animation is FF7 Advent Children caliber. Very far from the likes of the new Berserk or Kingdom. The plot twist at the end, although im not sure if its a spoiler, but to be on the safe side, i will consider it a plot twist to avoid spoilers, is very nice eventhough this plot
...
twist element is something i have grown to hate lately as its been used as the main element of most animes.
Overall, I enjoyed the anime very much. I am abit curious though if my opinion would differ if id have played the game.

I grew up in the era of 80's anime, saint seiya, captain tsubasa, voltes v, but i never got around to watching saint seiya. i would always get bored and stop at 6 episodes in because it was dragging. But not this time, Saint Seiya 2019 got me hooked by updated animation. Sure it's cgi, but its way better than the Berserk 2016/Kingdom cgi. Those look like voxels compared to this. The color palette used pops like good ol anime and the vertex are smooth like anti-aliasing was in overdrive. Also the animation movement is smooth, though not 60fps
...
smooth, but still better than the previous cgi based anime.
One more thing i liked about this version of Saint Seiya is the pacing. They don't try to fill the episode with fight talk like in dragonball or one piece where they milk battles for more episodes, some even squeeze in a "tournament" just to stretch the series. They could stretch a single fight into like 3 episodes. So i was like groaning when i first heard there was gonna be a tournament. Thankfully, the whole thing was over in 1 episode.
I never knew the full lore of Saint Seiya and maybe its a good thing because its what also allowed me to enjoy the ONA without thinking too much of the original lore and doing comparisons instead of just enjoying the series.

First few episodes shows promise. I didn't mind the talking at first, but after 9 episodes full of convoluted mishmash philosophical nonsense, I gave up. They use it as filler to extend time. I think this anime would have been over in 5 episodes if not for the senseless talking. It got me so frustrated I almost had a heart attack from shouting at the screen to move the stupid plot along.
The only thing I liked about the show is Mamika, and how her character is developed and killed off. I like that plot. The rest is just mishmash

like this review requirement, I will show an example of what the show is doing to fill the time it needs in order to be a full episode show. And do you know what I think about this requirement? I think this requirement is good. It makes the reviewer really invest in the show. But you know what, I could be lying. I don't really think I like this review requirement, but then again, I think it is important.
So, save yourselves the frustration and disappointment. Watch some other shows.
