I read the whole series as a teen, so it may sound or come out different from me than other reviewers. But as it is coming from a "teen", i found this to be extremely enjoyable. There are many flaws and weaknesses in this manga, but i seemed to understand why many called Toriyama, the creator of DragonBall, a genius. DragonBall surpasses all odds in its infinite path of making new friends, fighting new foes, and discovering new powers. In other words, you can call it the perfect raw shounen manga for younger audiences and perhaps teens like myself.
Story 9/10
To me
...
this is both a weakness and a strong point of the series. Different arcs have different stories behind them but they all connect and make sense in the end. Although everything connects however, some parts seem like they lose understanding and basic common sense. Though rare, sometimes, the reader might feel or want to say "Well this makes sense, but why didn't they do this, or why couldn't they have done that before."
I do give the author credit though, for it is not easy to connect everything perfectly clearly with such a long series. I think the author balanced everything to work out pretty well.
However, when the plot gets really good into something you didn't expect, that's when the series really starts to shine. Secrets are uncovered and mysteries you could never imagine occur in this wonderful storyline giving it a solid 9/10.
Art 10/10
This one's quite obvious i think. The action sequences are very nicely drawn with wonderful design of landscapes and characters. Also the way the technology is drawn still amuses me :)
Character 9/10
First thing first, I have to say the way the characters were created and how it applies to them is pure genius. Absolute amazing creativity with variety as well. This series ranges from humans to saiyans to animals to aliens to different aliens to organisms to BUBBLE GUM. I mean BUBBLE GUM. If thats not enough of variety u also got two types (SPOILER* xP). A fat one and an evil looking one.
There is a backside to this though, which is why i rated it a 9 out of 10, and that is the character development. This seems to come out as a fatal flaw in the series. Important characters who were good friends of goku (SPOILER* xP) like Yamcha and Tien have seemed to lost their importance. Bulma who first discovered Goku, seems to have almost no part in his life afterwards. She seems to end up as the casual techno girl and cheerleader for Goku while he's fighting. But, even though there are some characters who seem to become unimportant, some new characters undergo a very nice change in development. For example characters like (SPOILER* xP) Vegeta, Piccolo, the androids, Buu, even Satan, seem to become important and likable characters in the series. Despite it's flaw in the development of some characters, it doesn't do quite much to affect the wonderful variety of characters and enjoyment in DragonBall.
Enjoyment 10/10
Really enjoyed this series. What more to say about it. x)
Overall 10/10
Don't get intimidated by the flaws i posted. (I'm just a mean reviewer :P)
Overall, DragonBall is a wonderful series filled with adventure and excitement. It's just incredible. You can't miss it!

Its quite simple really. The manga's brilliant, but the anime's just another cheap shounen piece of shit........... I might have been pretty harsh to rate 4 parts of the anime all 1's, but i had high expectations and they just murdered the chance of it being an incredible show....

The art and sound are decent in Eyeshield 21, but more importantly its the power and blood boiling excitement attached to the determination of the characters that amazes me. Eyeshield 21, makes you somehow excited and determined like the characters throughout the show. As friends and family hang around together full of liveliness, it shows the incredible determination in American football probably more than actual American Football. The show may go quite overboard sometimes by jumping and touchdowns in seconds, but it stays sane enough to excite you from start to finish. The characters really gave it to me with humor
...
and pure awesomeness. The Evil demon Hiruma, never fails to make me laugh with his terribly wicked plans, Kurita shows a softhearted kindness and a powerful and destructive feature, Shin shows a determination to football which is something you can't help but admire about him. There are players you absolutely hate too, but you can admire how the protagonists keep their cool and win against them in a calm and cool manner. I have to say though, my least favorite character was Sena who was the actual main Protagonist. It takes him a while to show his true guts and strength in the show. He remains a coward for a bit and cools down gradually. However, he shows his full on skill with absolute determination in his mentality when facing an opponent full heartedly.

I have to say, the art and sound is fairly good in the show. It brings out a natural and lively yet peaceful environment in the anime. However, I have to say the enjoyment was a total failure for me. I fell asleep on nearly watching all the episodes and realized that even if I watched 1000 episodes, this story would never reach or even hint on the climax. The characters are alright, but they are boring in their own way. The female protagonist is your normal average good looking tomboy girl, and the male protagonist is a little strange
...
by being clueless but being reliable at times, however its not so extreme as to be "interesting". Both are fairly normal characters. The story was pretty average too. There is no thrill, but only a boring attitude that stays much too calm in the entirety of the show.

I think my favorite character in this show would be Maria, the maid in the show. She remains most attractive, smart, and has an interesting personality which shows her kindness and humor. I thought this show would have her as the main female protagonist, but since it seemed she wasn't, my enjoyment went down the drain. The interesting humor it portrays isn't half bad, but its not something that i would lmao to the ground on. The male protagonist, Hayate shows an interesting cluelessness in his personality and kindness which makes him a good character as well as being strong, but
...
his drag in making the show really "slow" is a pain in the butt. I know the show wasn't trying to go quickly, but really trying to bring light humor and liveliness, for me, the only way this show would be "extremely interesting" is if the pace went a bit quicker and if there weren't too many new "girl characters" popping out here and then making Hayate look like a complete ladiesman. I find this allowable in shonen, but in an anime like this, it's nothing but a pain in the butt.

One Piece for me is probably the greatest piece of work I've ever seen come from an anime creator. The incredible thing has nothing to do with the art or the special effects, but rather the powerful emotion drawn from within many of the scenes incited by the characters. The emotional scenes draw out the full potential and strength of the main characters which makes them look really (how should i say it "nutz" or "kickass"). If that isn't enough, its flawless storyline brings out something more and more and as the story goes on and on and every little event comes
...
into detail which all connects together for the preparation of an incredible event yet to come. One Piece never fails to make me laugh, cry, and do both at the same time in this amazing piece of work.
