This show is absolutely unenjoyable to the point that binge-watching felt like 40 hours instead of 4 hours. But if it's so unenjoyable, then why the 9/10? That's because a 3/10 score wouldn't do justice to such a masterpiece of an anime. I wouldn't recommend this anime to anyone, mainly because I personally don't really like dark anime shows where your moral compass and ethics are being questioned, but if you want to give this show a try, I can confidently say that you won't regret it.

Story: 10/10
After reading some of the reviews on Kuzu no Honkai, the main thing in common
...
was the fact that the show has a lot of intimate scenes, or rather the anime is filled with it. It feels as if the problems of the main characters are always solved by being touched and then you start to wonder whether you're actually just watching hentai. But I feel that such scenes allow for a better understanding of the feelings and issues the main characters have and that without these scenes Kuzu no Honkai wouldn't make sense. The reason why I give a 10/10 is that the storytelling of the anime was done perfectly. The plot itself wasn't anything special but Kuzu no Honkai was able to make clear the issues that the main characters had and were facing and justifies the need for intimate scenes, and even uses the intimate scenes to amplify the portrayal of the feelings of the main characters.
Also, although the ending was shocking and distasteful, it was so well done, so sad and so thought-provoking. I would get mad if any other romance anime ended like so, but because of Kuzo no Honkai's setting and plot progression, the ending was perfectly executed.
Character: 10/10
Kuzu no Honkai was able to show each character's perspective and each character had a clear progression in their growth. They go through very uncomfortable and touchy problems and the way that they overcame it was very natural and didn't feel forced, sudden, or out of place. Also, the situation for Hanabi was the saddest in my opinion, but the way she overcame her confusing feelings and stayed strong was very admirable.
Art and Sound: 9/10
The art for the characters was nothing special, but the art for the intimate scenes was very detailed. I mean, who doesn't like well-drawn sex scenes? The opening was a bit too upbeat for a dark anime, but the OSTs were very impactful during intense scenes, and no I don't mean the intimate scenes. Also, props to the voice actresses, and yes I mean the intimate scenes. Probably was hella awkward during studio recording, but was well-done and realistic.
Enjoyment: 3/10
Personally, I dislike dark anime shows like Kuzu no Honkai that gets you rethinking or questioning things that are touchy and uncomfortable. Each episode was depressing with monotonous monologues about depressing stuff. Honestly, I really like romance anime shows, but the romance in Kuzu no Honkai was absolutely unenjoyable for the main characters. The ending was so distasteful and unsatisfying. I wanted to stop watching after 4 episodes but I figured I had to stay through the entire 12 episodes to be able to get the full picture and leave a credible review.
Overall: 9/10
Try to have an open mind with the intimate scenes and empathize with the main characters, then you'll realize that writer of this anime is a genius for being able to portray such emotions and feelings.

I came here after watching the anime, so for those wondering the story continues from chapter 16 onwards.
I've watched a decent amount of romance anime and read a few romance manga and in my opinion "My Little Monster" is special from the rest. I wouldn't say different because the setting and plot progression isn't totally unique, but special.
Liking someone isn't as simple as you think, feelings become more confusing the more you think about it, and the closer you are to someone the more complicated things will get. But going through all of that, struggling, suffering, just to love someone, I personally think that's
...
what "My Little Monster" is all about and why it is special to me.
Also, it's a good read and definitely satisfying if you're looking for closure on the progress of Haru and Shizuku from the anime.

Non-spoiler Anime Review: I want to eat your pancreas
- Plot: 9/10
> Nothing really special with the plot, typical simple sad romance story
> However, although simple, the plot was very impactful in conveying its main message and it has a really, really good message.
- Sound: 8/10
> the characters had appropriate voice actors, no weird speech from any of the characters
> the ost, opening, and ending was pretty dope, I liked it a lot, though not very impactful
...
- Visuals/Art : 8.5/10
> The visuals and art were pleasing, although not really many scenes where the visuals and art were prominent
- Coherency: 9/10
> The flow of the story was really well done. Little to no confusion when following the story
- Characters: 9.5/10
> The main characters had polar opposite personalities, consistent throughout the story
> The change and development of the characters is one of the most important factors, and it was done perfectly while drawing me in more and more as they progress
- Overall: 9/10
> The overall score is not the add up of the scores for the different factors that make up the anime, but my enjoyment and what I get out of the anime. Really, really enjoyed it (my thoughts below)
- Thoughts
This. This anime is the reason why I watch anime. Anime is so much more than just animation; it lets you feel empathy, sympathy and very relatable.
Stories of the characters and the lessons they learn from the different paths they take when encountering the respective situations. As cliche as it sounds, as cringe as it is, we will always get to learn a thing or two from the experiences of each character.
I want to eat your pancreas is a story of a girl with pancreatic disease and a short definite lifespan who lives the most of her remaining time with a stranger.
During their time together, they learn about each other, opening up to others, the need for someone and a new perspective to look at life.
Even the wisest person has things to learn, even the loneliest of people want company and even the most apathetic people care.
A story of change, bond, and acceptance.
Bonus: As an enthusiast of love and romance, I'll give you guys a bonus and talk about romance with reference to the anime. This anime, although under the genre romance, has no romance although it does. Yeah, there is love between the two but not necessarily romantic love. The kind of love they have for each other transcends the idea of romance. More than just kissing, holding hands and conforming to every need of each other, the love they have is so pure so innocent and so so so madly unrealistic. I feel like this is the most ideal type of love to have between a boy and a girl but will never happen in the real world especially in the environment and society I live in.
With reference to the anime, everyone needs someone. All hearts yearn for love; we will always want the most ideal type of love, but will ultimately get the love ideal for us.

Non-spoiler Review
Visual/Art : (8.5)
- Theres nothing much to say about the visuals or art about this movie, nothing amazing, but its still eye pleasing and attractive
- giving it 8.5 because its good but not violet evergarden good
Sound : (9)
- Sound plays a very important role in determining the quality of the anime, and it can be further broken down to 2 parts: voice acting and OSTs
...
- The voice actors for each of the characters in the movie is appropriate, no characters with weird voices. The OST for the movie is brilliant, bringing out the mood and atmosphere of each setting really well
Plot : (8.5)
- No doubt a unique storyline though not totally different from other anime movies; the movie has a direction and builds up well
Characters : (9)
- The most important part and plays the biggest role in making an anime good
- Really good character development and appropriate characteristics for each of the characters, especially the main character; you get attracted to her and attached as you follow the story and her development
Coherency : (8)
- Some plotholes here and there, you have to really pay attention to understand, some terms are confusing
- Other than that the flow of the story is done well with little to no confusion
Total : 9
- This anime takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, showing the hardships of the MC and the destiny fated to the clan of partings. My favourite quote from the movie, "Once you love someone, you'll truly be alone". This movie made me love love more, not just romance. Tear-jerking, heart-breaking, heart-mending. Beautiful movie, an artwork on a digital canvas.
Verdict : Worth the watch
