Both of these are fast-paced, stylish action series. However, what really brings these two anime together is the emphasis on story compared to other generic action anime. Both of the main characters have a great backstory revealed as the story goes on, with very unique personalities.

Both of these anime are of the "slice-of-life" style. They follow a group of girls and their daily life through school. I would recommend both of these to people who like a laid back anime that has good humor.

Ousama Game

Both of these manga's stories revolve around a group of people who are forced to obey an invisible leader. Very gruesome, with both stories involving a lot of death. Both stories do a great job of showing the pressure of the situation and the interactions between the characters. I would say that both stories are gory, but Kamisama has a bit more humor than Ousama Game.

Both of these stories focus around people getting their revenge. While Uramiya Honpo is quite a bit darker and more realistic than Jigoku Shoujo, the idea of "justice" and "revenge" rings through in both series.

Both series have a feeling of unease about them, with a dark and eerie atmosphere and a supernatural "main character" (?) lurking behind the scenes each episode. The way the story is told is very similar, with each episode focusing on a different person (or group of people) and the strange events surrounding them.
