Well this was a definite shrinker.
Takt op destiny as a show is basically this years God Of Highschool. An anime that seemed to be one of the most hyped shows of the year, with incredibly high production values, that unfortunately never lived up to the hype due to the same general problems. Coincidently both are also MAPPA shows.
Story 5/10
Takt takes place in the not too distant future from now where creatures called d2s are wreaking havoc across a rather barren and semi-post-apocalyptic US, and people known as Conductors ally with humanoid weapons called Musicarts to fend them off. The main pull of
...
the story is finding a way for our titular main character to travel to NYC to be able to adjust his Musicart to possibly work more efficiently. Normally this would be a great setup for a roadtrip style show, but they don't really do anything with the idea. A proper roadtrip show would both go to interesting places and meet fun characters. Unfortunately many of the locations look the same between long stretches of barren wasteland and small towns, only getting a nice location once they finally arrive in New York. We'll get to the issues with the characters later.
Art: 7/10
yeah it loses some points from a set piece standpoint but gains a few due to the rather excellent models as well as quality sakuga. Mappa and Madhouse have always done stellar jobs with animating their works no matter how weak the writing may be otherwise, and it's no different here. (funny note though I'd never guess this was mappa or madhouse though if I didn't know already because sakuga wise, It more reminds me of something ufotable made. Specifically both character models and fight scenes remind me of the Fate Series)
Sound 10/10
Yeah as expected from an anime in the music genre, the Sound is top notch stuff. As mentioned before the sakuga was really good, and part of why that was was because they really did a good job handling sound during the fight scenes. Both the op and ed are rather solid too, but the biggest standout for music is the OST. Banger after banger after banger floods the fight scenes and every fight scene has some of the greatest masterpieces in classical music.
Characters 4/10
The other big issue is pretty much everything you learn about the main characters are covered in the first 2 episodes. They don't go through much in the way of progression nor do they even get much in the way of development either. One shot characters are kind of just there and the antagonists come off ass either one note or extremely pretentious. Almost fake deep in a way. The only reason why the score isn't any lower is the bright spot known as Lenny. Legit the one shiny star in this. I've always liked mentor figures in media, and he's the only one who seemingly gets measurable development in some way.
Enjoyment 5/10 Yeah as you can expect from both the mediocre scores in both story and characters, I personally can't get too much enjoyment out of the show either. The fight scenes are pretty nice and keep my attention, but everything else takes me out of the experience so 5/10 it is.
Overall: 6.2/10
It's very clear this show was made as advertising for the upcoming mobile game, and that hurts. When I rate something a 6/10 It means while I thought it was rather fine and I didn't feel like my time was wasted, I don't feel inclined to return for a season 2, so that seems about right.

once again I've known about the controversies surrounding this show, but I left that aside just thinking this would be a wholesome show with some lewdness. Sort of like an ecchi version of Takagi-san. Unfortunately what I got instead was an ecchi version of Umaru-chan. the title character is extremely annoying, and not in a funny way either. And yes, I get that that's the point as her own name TRANSLATES TO ANNOYING. However, if you have nothing else besides that or any other facets to the character, you just have an annoying flea of a character. Besides that
...
there's nothing else to the show. It is extremely boring, and this is coming from someone who enjoys both slice of life and can enjoy laid back shows. Yuru Camp for example is a blast. Overall it's a 5 out of 10 at best further hurt by the annoying title character. In conclusion this is a show that only got attention in the first place due to the controversies, and will only receive future attention because she'll be used in porn.

Story: 8
The show doesn't really have too much of an underlying plot, but it doesn't have to have one, as it isn't a continuous story, but rather an episodic series, making it harder to rate compared to other series. What I can say is this. as of the end of Volume 2 of the manga (which would roughly end up around the final episode of the anime) there is an underlying plot, but it isn't too important from episode to episode.
Art: 10
What really impressed me the most was the Art for this show. While having hot girls isn't too important for
...
most shows, in the ecchi genre is absolutely critical for the show. All of the various succu-girls are extremely well designed both in terms of appeal, and extra care was done in how their anatomy would make sense for their species. What was also impressive was how several of the brothels were designed (with special mention to the super bright brothel, the lilim den, and the salamander grill) Oh, and even though it really doesn't need to, it has better fight scenes than the new seven deadly sins
Sound: 10
from the animation to the sound you could tell everyone involved was having the time of their lives making this and it shows. Every line is delivered in a unique way, you don't hear much stock sounds, so it never feels cheap, and even with the heavily censored version of the show, you can still get into it even when the screen is completely blacked out because the voices are that strong. What actually surprised me was the sheer number of 4-5 star VAs they were able to get their hands on for this.
Character: 7
Not any real standouts, but I can safely say all the character fit well in the story they are trying to tell, and there's always several memorable lines each episode.
Enjoyment: 10
What can I say, this got me hooked from episode 1 with some absolute gut-busters. "parakeet? more like Gotta skeet" needs to be hung in a museum it is that funny and it just keeps getting better from there.
Overall: 10
It's not at all deep, but it is one of the best rides I've had and an easy highlight of the season along with Eizoken, making up for an otherwise fairly lackluster season compared to almost any season from the past 2 years. In conclusion, it's a show that knows exactly what kind of show it wants to be and revels in what it wants to be. So long as you don't take anime so seriously, you're going to have an amazing time

This is quite frankly, one of the most bizarre shows I have seen in my life. When I first watched Sarazanmai from last year, I wasn't too phased by how weird that show was, because way back when about 10 years ago I happened to come across this show browsing various pirate sites. Hey Anime discussions either weren't really around, or I was just not browsing them myself. I don't think I'll ever find something this strange ever again. But I still say it was one of my more entertaining experiences. The humor is surreal, certain pieces of the story
...
are played seriously, but those are few and far between. The plot moves sort of like a kid with ADHD, but in a good way. So long as you relax and turn your brain off, you will be in for one hell of a ride
