Now being serious, who had this idea? It's so stupid, and exactly because of that it is so funny. I can't lie saying I dislike it. I never imagined I would laugh with Gendo Ikari trying to sell to me a razor blade, but I laughed so hard I cried.

It's fun how Japan can make the depressed kids (and dads) from Evangelion sell practically anything, and it's impressing how ... we just buy it. I would have Schick Evangelion razor blade if I could. And seriously, who wouldn't?

I watched this crap with my friends in an event we have called "Chernocall", and this anime, along with some others, shows why the name of our calls references the Chernobyl incident. It's so terribly bad that can be radioactive. I'm not joking!

The mess starts with it's story, which should be, in my conception, the core of someone's enjoyment in a narrative work. If you don't have a at least decent story, you don't have a good product, not mattering if the animation or sound design are stuning. And this story is completely poor. The events doesn't seems to have ... any good justification to happen, the characters are shallow and their motivations are boring...

I remember staring at the screen waiting for something interesting to happen. Well, the only interesting things that did happen were the spectacular animation errors. Weird facial expressions and BIZARRE perspectives appear all the time sometimes taking all the almost null emotional depth of some scenes, but at least creating good laughs. Sadly, a lot of these errors weren't funny at all, like the static scenes, for example.

Also, not only the animation is bad, but all of it's art direction. The scenarios look like something from a bad and cheap Nintendo 64 game, although being made in 2003. I guess even in that time this kind of visuals would be considered weird and ugly.

The sound design is the best part of the anime, being almost decent with mediocre voice actors and a easy forgettable soundtrack. That part isn't exactlu bad, but isn't good either. It's just meh.

Finally,the enjoyment of the anime can't be more far from the lowest level of what can be considered "ok". Please, just avoid this shit unless you want to troll you friends in a call or something. Hope I helped someone.

It's a nice manga, and that's all. It has the same simple but effective story written by Shinkai for the movie, with practically no additional moments. And the art of Ranmaru Kotone is pretty nice, but nothing compared with the stuning visuals of Shinkai's movie, which, let's be honest, carries the movie on it's shoulders. The story isn't that deep and emotional, and some plot points are poorly explained, especially in it's last third. The edition I have is the three-in-one published by JBC editora in Brazil (the country were I live). It's has a beautiful cover and a nice choice of paper. It's expensive, ... though, like everything in Brazil. If you aren't a great fan of the movie, I can assure it doesn't is worth of your money, but if you are, it can be a nice souvenir.
