Right off the back, I will give this animation adaptation a 7.5/10. Let me go over my reasoning.
Real quick, I have not read the manga, nor have I seen the actual K drama, I've only seen the animation which is what I'll be reviewing.

This anime definitely had a great start. It was interesting watching anime that had something to do with the history of life and ancestry, obviously history about the anime world itself, not human history.
I really wish I could give this anime a 10/10 but the ending was rushed. I feel like if they had gotten another season, it would have been great! This anime doesn't start off as a typical love story anime, and I can't help but feel that's the reason this anime is so underrated.
Right off the back, you are thrown into this couples' relationship; you don't get to see the buildup of how they came to be in a relationship, but I honestly think that it okay. I actually liked how they played this out. The reason being is that we get to see the aftermath of the love confession and being a couple. We get to see them go on dates, what they do after school, how they interact ...

I started this anime on 09/23/24 and finished it today 10/01/24. The reason as to why it has taken me so long to watch this is because of all the mix reviews I heard about this anime. HOWEVER, I wish I started it earlier.
LET'S GET STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. The first few episodes did not draw me in, but I choose to stick with it, and I am honestly glad I did. As for someone who just finished watching the season today, I have a few take aways from this anime
the first being is that this anime did start off slow, however it did pick up as the episodes went on. Secondly, the animation was not top tier, but it was good. I'd give it a 7/10. Thirdly, the story line was decent, but you don't really appreciate it till the end of the anime. It's one of those, everything makes sense at the end because they reveal the motive. I have read all the comments on this anime so far, however, currently there are only 6 episodes that have been released to date and I am only 3 episodes in and i can easily say this is a good anime.
The animation is great 9/10. The action scenes are 8/10. They could easily be 10/10 but no one will compare to JJk's fight/ action scenes. There hasn't been much character development just yet, but I am only on episode three. I definitely feel like everyone one should give this anime a try. This was my very first BL anime and I am not disappointed. If you're looking for something lighthearted, funny, and cute then this is just the anime for you.
Too add on, this is more reserved from other BL series, well so I am told. There's very light physical affection for those who are just starting off and don't want to be thrown into all the physical stuff. The only downside is that it is a slow development. This is a review of season one for the shield hero.
I don't think the other seasons will ever top season one. The character development for Naofumi is pretty good. I also appreciate that season one consists of 25 episodes. It's a shame seasons 2 only has 13 episodes & season 3 only has 12 episodes. Anyways, I feel like people judge Isekai's based on the first episode now and days. This Anime was funny, cute, and cliche. While this anime makes you laugh, it will also make you cringe at the same time. If that's your taste, then this will definitely be up your alley. However, the only issue I have about this anime is the slow build up. There's nothing worse than the slow build up between two characters who have obvious chemistry. I just finished watching this anime today, so I figured I write a review.
This rom-con anime is funny, cute, lighthearted, and unfortunately predictable. You can instantly tell the two main characters are meant to be however the writers didn't give much leeway for any other possible outcomes, relationship wise.
