This review is going to be really bad since it's my first time writing one but hey, if you enjoyed this then thanks!
"They say that time is the medicine to everything. That’s a lie. All it does is chase everything into obscurity. It makes everything pointless and worthless, simply masking away the actual problems."
As of writing this review, September 27, 2021, it has been a year since I finished the final volume of the Oregairu LN. It took me this long to write this since I don't wanna have any recency bias. When I first finished Oregairu, I thought it was a masterpiece when it

comes to anything anime-related. I thought that this feeling would eventually go away but a year later, the feeling hasn't wavered at all. But what makes Oregairu so good? Well, the premise of Oregairu may be a very simple one, it revolves around Hikigaya Hachiman trying to solve the problems of other people along with the help of the club president Yukinoshita Yukino and Yui Yuigahama. But as the story progresses, our main characters progress as well. I'm not gonna get too into detail since I might spoil something important. This simple premise then turns into a quite complex story. Since the story is told from Hikigaya's perspective, we see him try to solve the problems of others whilst also trying to solve problems that involve his club. This part of the story is when I truly fell in love with Oregairu. To get a bit personal, I've never had any opinion, personality, or anything of that aspect since I always just copy what my friends say. But through Oregairu and some reflection I did for the story, the text I have read has truly changed me. Don't get me wrong though, I don't take every opinion that Hikigaya says, if anything, most of what I learned from Oregairu is through disagreeing with what Hikigaya said. But this disagreement eventually turns into agreement as I reach the final stages of the story. Throughout Oregairu, Hikigaya develops his own character from being really edgy to a lot less edgy. That might sound bad but I promise you'll understand more if you read the LN. To get into the more general stuff on the review, let's discuss characters. The characters in the series are very likable as each of them gets their own share of development. The art drawn by Ponkan-8 sama is also really good as you can see his different art styles over the years. Lastly, I want to say something about the author of the series, Wataru Watari. Oregairu is the best drama I have ever experienced and that's thanks to the skill of Wataru but for the love of god stop milking the series. To end it off, I would like to recommend Oregairu to anyone who reads this. If you like edgy, cool characters then you got that covered. If you like your really cute anime waifus, then you have a ton of that in Oregairu. If you really like your drama, then Oregairu is the perfect fit for you. If you like romantic comedies then Oregairu has that covered. But hey maybe it isn't as good as I say it to be. I guess I'll just write another review next year when that happens. But hey that would be all. Thanks for reading. Have a nice day.
