Both give me the same feeling: - They have tons of comedy, including parodies as well, with a bizarre tone sometimes. The punchlines of the jokes can be really unexpected too. - Anyways, they also have a ver heartwarming side to them, that may lead you to a point in which you would even cry because of the "feels" they transmit.

Owari no Seraph

This two anime series give a similar vibe, since there are two main guys on different "sides" (in the case of Aldnoah one fights with Earth and the other one Mars, in Seraph one with the humans and the other one with the vampires) And not just that, but the characters of Mika and Slaine are really similar - both of them feel they are "betraying" their own "sides". Both series also have schools that train children in order for them to fight against their enemies So, even though Seraph doesn't have any mechas unlike Aldnoah, I think that if you like one of them, watching the other one you'll see how similar they are, and enjoying one of them will make you like the other one as well.

Both have this feeling of "moe, gore and harem" with them and are based on visual novels. Grisaia no Kajitsu's first ep ended up just like Higurashi would, with this dark feeling on it. I must admit I was going to drop it, but for some reason I ended up watching the whole ep, and I'm glad I did. It's not so bad, however, it has this feeling of "getting worse during next episodes" that I hate. I guess that if you liked Higurashi you'll at least have this nostalgia feeling with Grisaia, since they're pretty similar.

Watching the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul remind me a lot to Phantom. Why? Because they bot have a main protagonist who becames a "something" (in Phantom, a phantom, in Tokyo Ghoul, a ghoul) against their own will. They both have to kill people for different reasons too. The main difference is that Phantom envolves mafia and adult characters, while the most part of Tokyo Ghoul's cast (by now) are teenagers.
