The show has some redeeming qualities, and the characters are good, but frankly (despite knowing what it's name is) the show is dragged down by all the monster cooking. Just slows down the story most of the time, and it stops being funny pretty fast.
In addition, it's so weird how casual and not in a hurry the characters are 90% of the time despite them being on a time limit to save their friend. They have to save someone with like a month but they almost NEVER act like they are in a hurry. Just makes the overall story ... feel not important

The show would have been better without the cooking and characters just focusing on helping their friend as an adventure story. Would have been much better as the dungeon and adventurer side of the show is pretty good.

SLIGHT SPOILERS but nothing big, WARNING about sexual assault

This story has some good things, like watching the characters get stronger & the abilities MC gets through his (fairly generic) ability to gain powers from things - but so many negative and it's like the MC has no morals whatsoever. Nothing terrible happened to him for him to act like this, just seems to be normal in the story

One small, odd, issue is that the story is told mostly through narration even when all the characters can talk. Just the MC telling you what happened.

My biggest issue with this series by ... far is how it seems to portray slavery and rape like it's normal and even okay.

The MC seems to oppose sexual assault initially - seeing some women captured by monsters, and doesn't want to just leave them to it, but then just forces a bunch of people to be sex slaves after he kills their friends - forcing them to obey through magic and/or drugs. He keeps doing this over and over, at one point a woman tries to kill him in his sleep and the solution is for her to be beaten up and then given more drugs for more sex....then the chapter continues like that's a normal thing.
For some reason, several captured women love this goblin MC like they have Stockholm syndrome. Capture women seem to have no desire to go back to families, the life they ever had, or any lingering resentment to the monsters that killed their friends.

Feels too weird to keep reading with how casual they are about enslaving and raping people

Action was great and kept me coming back to this story, so I blew through the story pretty quickly but sadly not much else is good about this series. Other than the action and art I wouldn't have any reason to recommend this to someone else and it's HIGHLY overrated when people say it's peak fiction IMO. it's just flawed in so many other aspects

Plot was good, but felt EXTREMLY rushed at the end and skipped past some huge things I would have liked to see. Felt like they had another 50+ chapters set but had to squeeze it into 5 for some ... reason. The more I think about the story itself after finishing the more I have mixed feelings about it. Several things not paid off well or at all & so many characters that didn't matter at all.

Very few side characters get any real "screentime" and none of them really developed. Almost every one of them could be removed from the story with little to no impact. Several of them seem like they will be important later but then just never show again except as a cameo kind of thing.

Some things in the story were built up for a while with no payoff at all, rushed past it so much I have to wonder why it was built up

Romance certainly isn't built up well in this series

MC himself develops early on, but gets pretty stagnant and isn't a really interesting character wise. Just becomes the generic OP stoic MC, I'd even say is a self insert (aside from the earlier 30 or so chapters where he feels more real).

All in all hard to give this anything more than 7/10

Overall -- a 8 for sure from me. I will definitely say the MHA 2nd movie is enjoyable, but that it definitely doesn't fit in the with the canon. I still enjoyed it very much and hope for some more in the future

Characters ---we saw all of class 1A in here, it showed a lot of the same humor that I love in the series. As the action kicks off a lot of characters get some time to shine

Art ---animation is top notch, towards the end the final fight in the movie reminded me of the deku vs bakugo fight in ... season 3 and the overhaul final fight. The animation was very fluid, even if the final fight is a bit crazy

Sound ---all good, no complaints other than maybe the final fight music could have been changed slightely

Story --- first things first, know that this movie takes place at some point towards the current point in the manga, so anime-only fans might see some stuff (like equiprment or new supermoves) or new characters that hasn't been shown yet in the anime. But seeing it won't really spoil anything

The story was okay, the premis was so-so and was pretty much just made for this. But we see some good character moments, even from 2 new characters that was nice and felt like it definitely was the same quality as the main story

Like a lot of anime movies this doesn't fit in with the series timeline, similar to the DBZ movies, so this movies is almost definitely not canon. It also really stretch some of the canon material like how certain quirks work (trying not to spoil anything). So knowing that expect a bit of craziness towards the end.

So knowing that it isn't canon don't try and break it down too much, just sit back and enjoy one heck of a movie

I thoroughly enjoyed his anime. I actually watched it two times back to back. And from the description you should know that things doesn't start off great for the MC. I would strongly suggest ignoring the lower scores that some people ahve given it, it was definitely one of the more enjoyable anime I have seen. I'd say it's my favorite isekai anime.

I will talk about the 4 big bad points that some people are complaining about, but first the big points.

I give the story and characters a 9, might be a bit much but as ... I said I enjoyed it very much. It goes well with the progression of the MC and his team. How the handles the bad hand that the new world gave him. How the grows to deal with this and try and heal form it. As well some of the other characters, namely his first companions/slave raphtalia. It also covers well how they both work to try to get past their own traumas. Though there are for sure characters I hated (the main antagonist) and some very annoying ones. But there definitely good ones.

The sound is a definite 9, the anime has a great soundtrack. I loved both of the Opening and Endings of the anime. The opening were great for a building song for the fighting. and the endings were calmer and more soothing to go with the character growing and recovering. It also had several insert songs that went amazingly with the scenes they were in. I had most of the music on my ipod just after I finished the season.

For the art I give it a 7, it was good (not bad) but wasn't amazing. It did have some bad animation moments for sure with the people background but it had it's great moments. It also had some great action scenes.

I should say that the people complaining about the show being full of misogyny, slaver, another "boring isekai" and nothing but a cheap harm is wrong. (those the ones I am seeing a lot of).
Yes the women who falsely accuses him is one of the main bad people in the series, and her betrayal deeply affected the MC. But there are tons of good and strong Female characters, quite possibly more than men. And the main country is the opposite of a monarch where the queen as all the power.

It's not like the MC is attacking every women he meets or only blaming women, or the anime itself making a point of putting men over women in general. Most of the strongest characters in the show in fighting end up being women.

As for the harem part -- I have grown tired of anime's where the MC is loved by tons of women for no real reason other than being just nice. For example the anime "The Time I was Reincarnation as a Slime" has some good points and I like it but the harem aspect is just bad. The women have no reason to fall for the MC other than he is in charge, some go from strangers to worshiping him in an episode for nothing other than becoming allies.
For the shield hero the MC naofumi genuinely helps people, some of the main "harem" members he really turns their life around. He also becomes a solid hero and protects the people he cares for. In a realistic aspect it is easy to see why a character would like him.

For slavery -- the world is mostly a medieval world with magic and monsters added in. There was slavery back then so there is slavery in this world. I don't see what the problem people have with it is. It isn't slavery based on ethnicity but based on the species. So demi-humans making slaves of people and vice versa.
I think the show made good use of it as a solution to an MC that has been completely betrayed and has absolutely no trust in anyone anymore --- as a slave can't betray their master.

It is different from other isekai's I have seen

All in all I think it was a great story with an interesting take. The MC doesn't get a happy start, he isn't over powered like Ainz from overlord or Slime from the anime mentioned above. On the contrary--- he is given every disadvantage. He is treated like a horrible criminal by people, and he has no attack power at ALL --let alone being Overpowered. As he is the shield hero he can't even pick up another weapon.

The MC has to deal with all of this and find a way to survive and thrive as the shield hero hated by most of the country he is in. All while trying to survive fighting monsters and people trying to make his life harder at every turn.

He also has to find creative way to handle battle as he is the shield hero, he learns to use everything he can to help him.

All in all I would definitely recommend this anime and I hope that it gets a second season

This is a loving vanilla story (with only two people), and as there is no synopsis I will add a quick one.

Basically the girl in the video is the daughter of a dojo and getting close and closer to take over the dojo, but she has trouble teaching men. So she asks her childhood friend to help her out with a massage so she can get more used to men (don't know how that works) because she is the only guy she is comfortable with. She is unaware that her friend has loved her since they were kids. Basically the ... guy takes it farther than she expected and she see's him as more of a man. Afterwards they have a loving sex where she accepts him.

it is short with only two sex scenes (the first one is very short) but it has very good animation, especially for a vanilla story. I usually scene animation like this in NTR or rape stories but I hate those stories. So it is nice to see this in a happy story.

I don't know if there will be another ep, as the manga this seems to be based on only had one episode worth for these two characters, there might be another episode about different characters. As the manga seems to be several short stories about different people.

I would like to see another episode with these two but I sincerely hope they don't change it to NTR.

This is not a happy ending hentai if that is what you are looking for. IT is definitely NTR.

That being said there are scenes of the mother and son together if that is what you are looking for, but (not trying to spoil anything) it is still an NTR moment even when they are together. And some of those sex scenes aren't what I was expecting but still surprisingly good.

It is probably worse than most NTR if that genre isn't for you. The son here had real chances to change things but apparently didn't have the guts. ... And by the second OVA the mom and the new guy are really rubbing his face in it.

If you want a happy son / mom hentai story then look elsewhere. If you are just looking for good sex scenes and can look past the story then give it a try.

For those who don't like NTR this is definitely not for you. It has some good sex scenes and art, especially the 3rd episode which is in some kind of alternate world separate from the first two OVAs. Basic NTR of the wife getting blackmailed in the first two OVAs, but the third is more just cheating than being forced.

But it is in the 3rd episode especially it gets heavy into NTR, if you are looking for a happy ending then please for the love of god look for a different hentai. It is pretty dark for the ... husband at the end, and it stuck with me for a little while.

I watched part of this series when it was first coming out several years ago, but did not finish it. I got around to it again recently as I wanted to see how it finally ended.

I enjoyed the first season and most of the second season-- but by the end of the second season I could not stand the main character yuuto or the same joke over and over again.

The biggest problem I had with this shows is that yuuto the MC is completely useless and doesn't have the slightest courage to do anything serious to help the girl ... he cares about until he gets a pep talk from all of his friends. By the end of the second season he alone ruined it for me.

It had the cliche of a guy and a girl falling over and landing in a perverted position too many times.

I also had the same joke that any time the two main characters go somewhere everyone goes with them.

It also took an unbearably long time to get a real development for the two main characters, since they are always interrupted by something or someone even though they have a chance probably every other episode.

I started off liking the anime decently but by the end I was fighting to finish it just to see how it ends. I think most of the "problems" that these two face could be fixed very easily if yuuto had a backbone.
