It's quite sad that Jump has decided to cancel this manga, but what else could they do? The manga received average to no response from the Japanese audience, so it's clear why it was canceled. It was unbearable for me to learn that it was getting the axe, but I realized that some people dismissed it, maybe due to its weird title or other reasons. I myself didn't check it out for at least two months because of its strange title name. But when I saw mostly positive vibes regarding this manga in our manga and anime community, I decided to check it out and
...
really started enjoying it from the bottom of my heart.
This manga covers competitive sports and delivers incredible emotional beats. As a character journey, it's a near-perfect combination of themes that I truly admired while reading. It had something extraordinary inside, but external factors never worked in its favor. This kept it from reaching a better position, which could have been crucial in avoiding the danger of getting the axe. Although I don't know why the audience was so unaware of this series, it didn't get the recognition it deserved during its more than five-month run and was eventually canceled. I don't know what went wrong, but now it can't be restored. I can confidently say that this was the best axed manga in a while. I rarely be so comfortable reading a manga facing cancellation, and hardly have I ever been so disappointed by one being axed and in the case of GGG, I was just sad like some unfixable danger unleashed.
It has been my go-to comfort manga since the time I began reading, and every Sunday, when the chapters were released became my focus. But now, that satisfaction is no more, and I am at a loss to find another manga in JUMP that is as good as GGG in terms of providing that go-to comfort.
That said, I highly recommend reading it. Go ahead and read it; it's a great read! Unfortunately, it has been discontinued, and there's nothing we can do to change that. We are mad, mad readers, and to prove it, we are forever here to support the best of mangas. So please, don't override this one, go ahead and read it.

I find this manga genuinely enjoyable and intriguing. 😊
The plot is simple and straightforward, providing a satisfying experience without overwhelming the reader with complexity. While the story might not stand out as groundbreaking, it excels in its multidimensional approach by seamlessly blending various genres. This genre mix drives the narrative forward and keeps the reader engaged. The writer’s effort to blend these genres together is commendable, though at times, the narrative only scratches the surface of each genre without fully delving into them. This approach might leave some readers wanting more depth in each specific genre.
Despite this minor flaw, the series truly shines in its
...
ability to create a delightful and feel-good atmosphere. It excels in crafting memorable and likable characters who resonate deeply with readers. Jozo Oogami, Noren Mitsuoka, Ryo, Kotatsu, Kazuma, and others are more than just names on a page, they are literally brought to life with unique personalities, relatable struggles, and genuine growth. Their interactions are heartwarming and often humorous, making you root for them and feel invested in their journeys. The depth of their relationships and the authenticity of their emotions add richness of experience to the story.
Moreover, the art style complements the narrative beautifully. The illustrations are detailed and expressive, while the character designs are impeccably created. This visual appeal enhances the overall reading experience, making each page a visual feast.
In conclusion, I highly recommend checking this manga out! It's engaging characters, enjoyable storyline, and beautiful artwork make it a worthwhile read. Whether you are in the mood for heartwarming moments, comedic relief, action this series offers a little something for everyone. It’s a joyful escape that will leave you with a smile and a sense of connection to the characters long after you are done reading.

I enjoyed reading this one-shot a lot. Even though it was fan-translated, it was still stellar.
Yet an amazing one-shot by the Phantom Seer duo, it features amazing world-building and an intriguing setting. If it gets serialized in JUMP, it will surely become one of the best mangas to read. While some say it strongly resembles D-Gray Man, I believe it has its own unique setup as well that doesn't fully imitate D-Gray Man. I prefer to enjoy it for what it is rather than unnecessary comparison to D-Gray Man.
Considering the action, story, art, characters, and excellent world-building, I would give it a solid rating
...
of 9/10. It has a surprisingly nice story concept, and each panel is brimming with artwork that will make you say "wow." I truly appreciate the incredible artistry behind it. Matsura-sensei has created superb character designs that are sure to become very popular if it's serialized for real. Moreover, I don't want to spoil anything. Just go ahead and read it to see for yourself!

I notice a lot of people dislike it simply because it resembles Wakui's previous work. However, I genuinely enjoy the story, it's quite nice and I find myself enjoying it every time I read. It's not as bad as some make it out to be. And while we're on the topic, I also have to give credit to the incredible editing of the manga. Each time I read the next chapter, I can't help but notice the editing for the next chapter gets even better. Whether it's the pacing of the story, character development, or consistency, I genuinely feel that the editing is pushing the
...
series to its limitless potential, attracting more readers and setting clear goals for the story to evolve.
I also acknowledge that there are minor criticisms about the manga, but I believe they don't alter its essence. Whether you consider its genre or simply observe the story progressing, it's neither a carbon copy of the author's previous work nor an attempt to serve the same ingredients to the audience. It's important for everyone to move past their criticisms and simply appreciate how the story unfolds. These days, how many protagonists are portrayed positively, and teaching valuable lessons through their actions. I really appreciate the predominantly positive portrayal of protagonists, it's incredibly refreshing for me as a reader.
The genre combines elements of organized crime, as seen in Wakui's previous work, with the addition of fantasy, which brings a new dimension to the story. Both elements positively and negatively influence the narrative trajectory. However, I feel that the setting could have been adjusted slightly to better suit the narrative, rather than portraying children as if they were adults running around the city managing crime. I am not entirely sure what the author has in mind for the future of the series, but deep down, I have a feeling there must be something intriguing planned ahead. While reading, I couldn't help but feel that if the author doesn't intend to change the character designs much, they should at least focus on providing a more suitable dimension to the setting and world-building. This would make the story more believable and increase clarity for the readers.
Ultimately, Negai no Astro delivers a good story that blends elements of organized crime with fantasy, giving readers a unique narrative experience that hasn't been explored much before. Although it may be compared to the author's previous work, the manga stands on its own with its positive portrayal of the protagonist and the valuable lesson of brotherhood woven into the story.
I absolutely recommend reading it!

The art in this manga is seriously impressive, no beef about it. But when it comes to the story, it's not exactly blowing minds. Sure, there was some buzz about a couple of chapters at the start, but it seems like nobody's really talking about it now. The artwork is top-notch, but the storyline? Meh, it's kinda missing that wow factor. The manga's theme isn't exactly uplifting, and unfortunately, the story doesn't do much to brighten the mood either. It's like there's this big gap between what the manga's trying to convey and what actually happens in the story. And because of that, it's hard
...
to get into the groove of things and really enjoy it.
Based on what I've shared, I'd still recommend checking out this manga primarily for its jaw-dropping artwork. The author's dedication and hard work shine through in every stunning panel, making it a visual feast worth experiencing. While the storyline might not be its strongest suit, I believe the manga shouldn't be dismissed solely on that basis. Give it a shot and appreciate the incredible artistry behind it!

The basic plot of the Boruto manga has always been likable enough, whether it's the prequel or the current series. The greatest strength of the plot lies in the choice of the story surrounding the main character, Boruto. At least for him, I don't think there is anything more suitable. While I appreciate the focus on Boruto, it seems that other characters lack the opportunity for development; they are somewhat compromised in comparison.
Compared to Naruto, this manga also lacks several elements from its predecessor that could have been effectively used to tell a better story. Unfortunately, these elements remain largely untapped. The villainous and antagonistic
...
elements hardly undergo any significant change; instead, the narrative often revisits the same themes repeatedly. There is almost no unpredictability in the story or character arcs, which fails to leave a significant impression on readers. When this manga was announced as a follow-up to the prequel, I had hoped for improvements in this aspect, but unfortunately, those expectations were not fulfilled.
Despite my reservations, I still find this manga to be readable and possessing a pleasant appeal. However, I believe there is room for improvement by introducing more elements such as world-building or new powers. Expanding on these aspects would not only enhance the overall scope but also add freshness to the narrative.

The first three chapters underline the importance of appreciating life's uncertainties and not taking anything for granted. Furthermore, the meticulous depiction of the main characters' holistic development serves as a catalyst, inspiring their transformative journey into becoming rakugoka. The decline in the art of rakugo by the main character's father becomes a poignant turning point, intensifying the protagonist's aspirations. Instead of deterring her, the father's setback fuels her determination, making her yearn even more to excel in rakugo, aspiring to earn her father's pride through her own success in the art form.
Akane can be considered as an impeccably fitting character, fearlessly venturing into uncharted territories
...
and embracing a continuous cycle of learning and implementation. Her proactive approach raises the bar for readers, dissipating the notion of fear. The essence of her character beautifully encapsulates life's purpose: to explore the unfamiliar, become acquainted with new experiences, and strive for perfection, serving as an inspirational guide for readers to pursue a similar path in their own lives.
Reading this manga provides a valuable learning experience, and the combination of the engaging story and captivating art makes it thoroughly enjoyable. While certain aspects may be predictable, their execution is so well-crafted that their predictability doesn't diminish their appeal instead, it enhances the overall satisfaction derived from the narrative.
If you're looking for a good read in Jump, this manga is a solid choice. It's interesting, teaches you something, and I totally recommend giving it a shot!
