This anime is a wonderfully depicted coming of age tale for all ages. The three main characters Narita, Takashi and Chitose bring a spectrum of personalities when combined make the perfect comic trio and with the added flashy fan service and witty and sarcastic humor this anime has everything a that makes a good slice of life series. The story mostly revolves around these three young men just reaching adult hood and coping with it in a real way that is rateable but spiced up by some very attractive female attention that may help these young boys find their way to manhood. The
...
ladies are loveable and the young men are just as endearing.
The overall story seems solid and it has good modern comic relief, the artwork is very good and detailed, flashy at times ( especially during a cute ecchi moment) and yet has a modern abstract twist at times.
the music has more of a blues rock feel to it modern as the rest of the anime - the opening a tune by a so-called - DJ Conrad, has a pleasant tune and the background music to most scenes are just perfect. The anime was well put together from artwork to story line to music, to character design. A good anime to keep an eye on. I've not read the comic but I can tell by this first episode that this will be a winner.

Once upon a time in England there was a fair Queen who ruled the land; only the queen was not fair at all, in fact she had died and the country itself was hiding it. But from what or whom?
The story continues with a new contract formed between a young boy of fourteen: Alois Trancy and Claude Faustus who carries a similar presence as well as punch line "I want to greedily devour you to the end, my master" as Sebastian and through a small critique made by Sebastian in the first episode it seems that Claude tries to follow in Sebastian's foot steps but
...
not quite One hell of a butler; just yet...
Alois and Claude compliment each other well as Alois is very needy at times and clings to Claude then goes through ridiculous turns of moods which Claude just seems to ignore. (I think Sebastian would not have the patience for this child.) Alois who is also referred to as "the spider" (As this is the form in which Claude introduced himself to Alois) is a marvelously radiant child with a charming smile and captivating energy... sometimes. The truth is the kid is like Mr. Jeckle and Hyde. He goes from smiling cheerfully to scornfully screaming or punishing a servant for no rhyme or reason and further more he seems to enjoy this type of behavior wildly. The young boy has basically gone mad. Where as Ciel was "evil" because he wanted revenge for the wrongs done to him; before that he was pure. He was stable, had good relationships in his life. He lost everything before he stunk from the mud of the gutter. But Alois was born from gutter mud so to speak. It's all he ever knew. His evilness is much more frightening. But this I'm sure is precisely why the "Queen" uses him. He's an interesting character who I thought I'd hate but he'll be fun to through into the mix.
So with the queen's new spider doing her dirty work then what of her loyal dog? Well SPOILER: he comes back. In the first episode Sebastian feigns the guise of a traveler and enters the Trancy mansion to retrieve Ciels ring. Why it's in the Trancy mansion, I don't know. Why he needs it revive Ciel? Who knows?
I didn't suspect a character like Alois could actually carry this series as the lead. He's too unbalanced and immature to carry out a vendetta successfully no matter who they made as his side kick. At first I didn't like the idea of Ciel coming back either after he was so obviously dead. But I assume this new character Alois and Claude will be fighting against Ciel at some point? It implies by the third episode that Claude is the protagonist causing the fires "a man with yellow eyes".The series has barely started and there are still so many interesting possibilities. What did he come back as? In the first episode it says that Ciel's debt is now paid. How so? Why doesn't he remember the Queen was killed or that Madame Red died? Why are his memories altered, I'm sure it's Sebastian's doing. I can't say yet but with the enjoyably written new characters to add to this twisted soul sucking thriller I certainly am looking forward to enjoying what I'm sure will be an amazing Kuroshitsugi 2. At least here's hoping.

Just a short overlook:)I don't write long reviews.
The story itself is a romance that takes place during the pique of a young boys adolescence. The feelings of an unbiased perception of love is very evident and further delves into the inhibitions of what most slice of life animes aim for but with a more realistic character development. The situations are very similar to the struggles of an adolescent; the main character called "Loveless" fitting as it is, suffers from lack of self esteem, a mother with grief issues from the recent loss of his older brother. He truly is alone and lost though through the
...
series the true drama is how he copes with this is explained as a romance of sorts developes with an older man Soubi. The action plot is fair and remains mysterious until the end circling issues surrounding his brother mysterious death. The artwork is very good, not fantastic but very fitting for this anime. The audio is done well and the theme songs are very nice as well. All in all it's a rather good show to watch.

This plot line reminded me a lot of Cowboy bebop, except Levi takes the lead as the hardcore leader of the group with a dark dangerous past, sort of like spike. She doesn't rely on her womanly talents to get what she wants (unlike Faye who I still love) she relies on her gun and her amazing fighting abilities rather which is what makes her so likable. She is solid in her resolve and almost becomes a role model for "Rock" as he quits his mundane life to join Levi and Dutch's group of mercenaries. An odd combination of folks, Benny the control room operator
...
look more like a surfer from California while Dutch has many similarities again to the big guy on cowboy bebop Jet, a solid guy who stands back and lets his crew do their job because he knows they are good at what they do. A solid action plot with good graphics and good music. I highly recommend this anime.

Let me say first the comic is better.
That said the story starts out without much introduction of characters or a plot. Just a kooky father essentially kicking Rahzel from her home to go experience the world.
Rahzel is a child who by unfortunate means had to grow up very quickly and has an unusual arsenal of unique talents (magic and so forth). Her troubled past left her with a very mature outlook on life and yet still a child like optimism that keeps her and her soon companions on an never ending upward momentum. With an attitude that perceives challenges as adventures, and adversity as
...
a test of character. This outlook is mostly what helped her gain her first companion in traveling, Alzied, which she promised in so many words to make his life more interesting. Alzied has his own dark demons of the past that come into play as the story continues. Compelled by the headstrong Rahzel they soon team up with an old friend of Rahzel's (cant spoil the connection) Barqueat. He is a gifted jack of all trades and adores Rahzel like an over zealous big brother.
The three go on adventures helping people as they travel and learning to depend on each other and learn about each of their troubled pasts. The main attitude of Rahzel is even more admirable when you discover all she has overcome. And it's inspiring to watch a character with so much darkness in their past use it to become a stronger person.
The story has a lot of holes in it, and the plot development could have been better. The music is not anything special, but the artwork is good. I would recommend this anime, but I would read the comics first. They fill in the holes.

Music: Excellent, the background music was perfect at all times and I loved the theme songs. The Credits song was okay, but the intro won out :)
Art_ I loved the artwork, it could have been touched up or more vibrant, but for this anime it definitely suited the dark atmosphere. The detailed kimonas, the cat like eyes, everything was perfectly in place. The way they did Yuuko's hair so beautifully.
The Subject: Most then anything I enjoyed the offbeat plot. Most of the themes in this series revolved around bad vices and good vices and what control we really have over them. All in all
...
it's the type of story that makes you think and has in impact whether you take it lightly or not. There can be a deeper meaning. For those who like to delve into the darker side of the human psyche this would be a perfect anime for you watch. Wise tales can be told in fiction..
Story:
Watanuki Kimihiro: is a typical high-school student living on his own because his parents were lost at a young age. He is down-to-earth and selfless, however some what of a loner. Also since he was a small he has has the ability to see and hear spirits.
The story seems to jump write into the plot line within the first few minutes. At once it is a typical scholastic student heading home from school when suddenly he is surrounded by demons, unknown to the casual observer; he becomes weighed down in all this supernatural power. Some how he manages to find refuge in a strange shop he hadn't noticed before. Inside the shop is a beautiful but almost devilish woman who tell that she can grant his with to make the spirits disappear.
Of course with some compensation.
Yuuko Ichiharais: a very powerful witch, mostly known for her ability to send people to other dimensions and times (sometimes called "The Dimensional Witch" reference from Card Captor and Tsubasa Chronicles), and for her ability to grant any wish in exchange for an equal cost. Despite her seemingly immature and free-spirited attitude, Yuuko is also sage-like and serious when the time calls for it.
During is part time work at her shop Yuku inadvertently helps Watanuki in daily trials and dealing with his gifts. Watanuki also finds friends who accept his strange gifts. Along the way he befriends a Shinto Priest in training who helps ward off the demons that Watanuki seems to attract.
Shizuka Dōmeki: is Watanuki's classmate and one-sided rival. He is part of the school's archery club and often participates in school competitions. He lives in a shrine owned by his late grandfather. Dōmeki's personality sharply contrasts with Watanuki's, as he is calm and often sarcastic. Dōmeki has the ability to rid evil spirits and is immune to most curses, mostly due to his ancestry and his upbringing in his grandfather's temple.
Watanuki at first disdains Domeki kun but eventually appreciates his presence in most things unless he tries in interferer with his love interest that is...
Himawari Kunogi: Watanuki's main love interest. She is a kind and caring girl, but inadvertently brings bad luck to everyone she comes into contact with, with the exception of her parents and Dōmeki.
Music: Excellent, the background music was perfect at all time and I loved the theme songs. The Credits song was okay, but the intro won out :)
Art: I loved the artwork, it could have been touched up or more vibrant, but for this anime it definitely suited the dark atmosphere. The detailed kimonas, the cat like eyes, everything was perfectly in place. I loved the anime.
