Being a relatively new series , the story of romance revolving around Kowloon walled city is most definitely a interesting , unique , mysterious and confusing one .
The story itself begins quite simple , yet as it slowly progresses the plot tenses , darkens and with each new chapter mysteries of Kowloon and it's residents starts to unravel . Past , Present , Death , Alive , Lies , Truth , Love , Hate is all but questions that awaits to be answered In the walled city of kowloon
The Characters themselves are full of mysteries , each character is decently well written and captures problems

that can reflect some in the real world. With the dynamic between the characters are also quite fictional so it might not be for everyone. Yet I think they also do capture and reflect how those that once lived in Hong Kong's Walled city go about their daily lives , showing the struggles that once faced those within the confined city
The World that is Kowloon Wall city is nothing breathtaking as it mainly focus within the confined city , no breathtaking scenery, no grassy plains , no clear blue seas . The city it self is nothing but a walled slum. Yet I think it excelled in recreating that nostalgic feeling that was once Kowloon , the tight narrow space , the tiny rooms , traditional food , cramped walking space , leaking roof , trash everywhere , elders playing mahjong , not so great work environment, all truly capture the essence of Hong Kong.
Final Note
This series isn't for everyone , the story is indeed quite confusing but extremely in depth , the dynamic and character design is also up to personal preference , in my opinion the style is similar to mysterious girlfriend x so it also might not appeal to some. But I think the world of mysteries within Kowloon walled city is definitely something to be explored and discovered, the world itself truly captures the essence that was once Kowloon walled city. If you come from Hong Kong I world most definitely recommend this towards you . But definitely check out this series if you enjoy romance and mysteries as this series is pack to the brim with it.

As the send off for Evangelion it does an amazing job , it follows through with the themes from NGE and adressess them directly through out the movie , the point of NGE was Anno's way of adressing his own struggles annd extendeding a hand to those struggling with the same thing . Which he then impliments into the rebuild series and with the final piece resolves these struggles

Some Complain about charecter development

being too rushed or the plot still isnt resolved or mari's addition was not needed , but then again the entire series of evangelion was not focused on the plot rather the themes within the plot , sure there might be plot holes, but the whole point of NGE as stated by many was not focused on the plot rather Anno's own struggle , so why expect it to be different in a rebuild , sure it has a diifferent approach to the ending and slight change in the story. But again it is a rebuild not the same as NGE the unresolved plot holes in NGE would probrably stay unresolved because again the movie isn't focused on the plot from NGE rather it is a way for Anno's say goodbye to the series and his own struggles.
Others say Shinji and Mari shouldn't have ended up toghter but just like all romance is anime with mutiple female charecters there will always be debate , so evreyone has their own opinion on this but Mari's addition provides Shinji with a fresh start , If we are going if Rei x Shinji that just feels immoral as Rei is basicly a clone of his mom soooo that would just be weird , and given asuka and shinji's conflict and history through out the series they wouldn't be too compatiable. And misato is out of the picture so proviidng Mari as a fresh start for shinji in the new world feels about right.
[Final Note]
Some say Anno dissapointed us Eva fans and what not , but again the entire series is Anno's own feeling , his own writing and his own resolution , the rebuild series is a way for "HIM" to give "HIS" own feeling and series a send off , it might not have the same feeling as NGE or EoE but again it is a rebuild not the same thing , Anno rebuilt the world in his own image and then resolved his own problems with it which i think also helped many others resolve too thats what makes this send of as great as its Predecessors.

Highly recommend for any anime watcher as evangleion dives into many different themes that influences many people in the world , most if not evrey charecter is used to deliver a theme that is unqiue towards them . These themes may seem hard to distingutish and may requrie time to understand them however the depth of the story , the mysteries surrounding the world , the struggle and theme of the charecters all provide something for the views to connect and understand.
The entire show is based on the author Hidekai Anno's own feelings at the time of the writting , using his own struggles

to convery into the main charecters such as asuka , shinji and rei . Some say the plot is" too difficult to understand "and " too many plot holes" or " no charecter development" which might seem true , however the entire point for Neon genisis and the movie is Anno expressing his own self struggles , and how it has consummed him , the reason some don't understand why there weren't much charecter development was that it reflects how Anno was feeling during the time of writin, shinji didnt get much development because Anno was still facing the same struggles as many people in the world . shinji might through out the plot seem to develop and turn for the better but ultimatly stayed the same , thats because shinji reflects how people tried to turn for the better and yet sometime sucome to their old habit . The purpose of the plot was not to tell a story rather i belive was a way Anno used to connect with people facing the same struggles as him , extending a hand for those in need , which he then uses the sequeals mostly the rebuild series to adress these struggles and how to face them
It is not the plot that makes Neon Genisis Evangelion a masterpiece rather it is the message and the themes the author puts into the plot to connect and help those struggling with the same themes , thats is why many people that watch it can connect with it as it might reflect their own struggle
