“What would a man drink of if there is no alcohol in a moment where work and life disappoints you” -Junichiro Kurosawa
After this somewhat depressing quote, we're left with only the difficult parts of living adulthood in our minds, with alcohol as a remedy (or perhaps, just an halt for now ?). My plan isn't to discourage you to not drink alcohol either way, if you're here checking if a bartender anime is interesting or not to watch, you probably already have your own opinion of it. When you think of Japan, you think of omurice, maid cafes and overworking their employees (wait what), that's
...
when the Japanese drinking culture comes to play, it starts chill in the evening with an Isakaya, and in the middle of the night, you get a call (Call of the night reference) to get the fuck up inside a Nijikai (thanks Abroad in Japan), the afterparty where you sit at a counter bar to drink a bunch of cocktails while smoking a big cigar, finally finishing at 3 am and wake up at 5, the cycle repeat. It's a funny story, somewhat real or not, but drinking a very nice cocktail in a dimmed room with only you, maybe one of two fellow drinker and the master of the craft, the bartender, is an immaculate vibe that makes you appreciate the present moment and forget the harsh life. Bartender : Glass of God is this anime, where the theme is just a bartender being there to cook you (let him cook) the perfect cocktail for you, the Glass of God, and this review is there to explain why it's good to drink (this is not medical advice).
Thinking how chill this anime is, for the most part, it's almost an Iyashikei, the genre of healing anime, tho it's quite humorous that you get healed by cocktails, as the customer. However, it's not always an episodic event where someone enters the bar, our main character Sasakura Ryu preps up the perfect cocktail for any situation and they talk about mundane or adult stuff life crisis, it's sometimes more than that. What I especially like about this anime is the characters that you get to see more than once, they all get a nicely crafted story with real human struggles, from maniacs events to depressing ones. Ryu even describes his bar, the Edenhall (what a fitting name of something magical and out of this world, is this dude the representation of god helping human kind to survive ?!), as an hospital, helping people out with an outstanding cocktail, while he is a jack of all trade, also able to do therapy while talking and using that sick metal bottle to (insert the onomatopoeia of ice cubes in the shaker doing Tsk Tsk Tsk Tsk Tsk in an ASMR fashion) to do a powerful and majestic liquid. In addition to this feeling that I especially like, there's two things that I like about this anime, it's a gold mine of sick cocktails to do yourself, because you know, Food Wars food looks very good, but who has 5 hours to prep something like that, while (some, because a few of those cocktails are hella hard to make) cocktails is just mixing things and shaking, I made a nice list of cocktails to try thanks to this anime, it even explains the creation story of the cocktail and has a nice taste review, it's always fun to cook something unique and very different from what you have usually. The other thing that I like about this anime is the adult cast. It's kinda obvious with the theme, but everyone in this anime is an adult, and it's sometimes a breath of fresh air not seeing the 13 years old overreact and anime shenanigans. The discussions are mature, mostly profound with adult events, like love, work, death even. In this heartful event, the Edenhall is the perfect place to go.
As for the visual and music part, overall it's not bad ! This anime is the second project that studio Liber did, after another adult cast story, they have their demographic in view. For a visual stand point, it's not the same level as the best visually pleasing anime this season, but I've seen way worse. It's consistent and looks clean for 99% of the anime, it even has some nice shaking shaker sakuga (albeit it's reused a few times), it's not a worry to have. What I find exceptionally good however is the music department, the OST and always so calming, yet portrays well the emotions in the current scene that you're watching, it's very well done. The OP and ED are pristine for a relaxing song, it makes you feel like drinking that 88% vodka cocktail is child play lmao. Overall, small paragraph, it's a good sign of something effective and average. I haven't seen the old anime adaptation, but I guess it's similar and this anime is probably making the visual better than in the old time, probably not as good as Spice and Wolf, but still.
In the end, Bartender : Glass of God is the perfect anime to watch after a hard/long day of work/school, while opening a cold beer like Gigguk did when seeing the preview of this anime, or your favourite drink. It will either ease your mind and install a very calm atmosphere, or suck you into an interesting story taking it's time about a lot of characters and their various events in life. Almost just like installing yourself at the bar accompanied by our main character the bartender. Watching one of two episode a day max is probably also my recommendation. The magical powers of cocktail and the almost magical abilities of Ryu to make the perfect cocktail will guide you.

“This looks like an Otome game ; Oh right, it's one” -Yumiella Dolkness
In a world where the Isekai genre is dissimilar to the Otome game/Villainess genre, you get a lot of anime which are very basic and don't reinvent the wheel. From the few Otome game anime that I've watched, it never clicked right. It was always a bit too girlish and unoriginal. But then, out of the blue, a new fighter joined the arena, it's called... *clears throat* Villainess Level 99 : I May Be The Hidden Boss But I'm Not The Demon Lord ! (At this point in this current day and age,
...
it's not that much of a long name isn't it ?). After watching this anime for the whole winter 2024 season, I came to the conclusion that this anime was quite enjoyable, I even learned what 99 is in japanese with the amount of times it's said in the anime, “Kyu.ju.Kyu”
To start with, instead of doing things cringy, it understands what it is and makes meta jokes about the average Otome game story, how it's generally pretty shit and easy to foresee what's gonna happens next, added to the base fact that those anime are generally girls getting truck-kun'ed into their favourite Otome game that they played on the switch the night before. For somes anime, it's just one minute at the start and then becomes irrelevant into the main story, making it kinda just like a fantasy ? Well, this anime clearly isn't just all that, Yumiella keeps refering to her massive knowledge of having finished the game and 100% it to make everything goes as smooth as she wants, but then.. you get to see that the events gets changed with her actions, how will she adapt to this !? You'll need to watch this anime to find out. But for real, the comedy is on point and is generally nicely sprinkled sometimes in the anime, Yumiella is also a badass character, since she's level 99 (the max), it's basically impossible to stop her, her darkness magic is unrivalled and makes up for a lot of events unfolding in the story, like imagine that : in the beginning, we get told that the most op character so far is level 60 only, and it's exponentially way more powerful the higher the level is. Of course, fucking op characters was a novelty in the Isekai genre in 2016, but the mix of people scared, people who wish to get her powers, friends made along the way, the fact that she wants to stay lowkey all makes up for something nice. There's always fucking epic magic fights every few episodes, all in the goal to kill the demon-lord (how original indeed). To somewhat wrap up what makes the story not bad in my opinion is also the other side characters, they are all quite different with each their goal, and somes character development is made throuhough all of the 12 episodes which wraps up nicely two whole years of high school.
To continue, all of the parts around the meat, the ones that support the story, the visuals and sounds, they aren't revolutionary, but they are fine. Of course, considering that this anime is made by Jumondo, who made one of the worst visually appealing anime of 2022, Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, we wouldn't expect something made by the best of the best, which is also explained by the 3D monsters (shocking I know from a somewhat shitty anime, but as us shitty anime watchers, we can go through this and find the small fun parts of it) used in the anime. The other visuals are honestly fine, it keeps a consistent visual (which is always great to have, I'm looking at you COTE) which is quite polished, you could argue that the emotions aren't well represented on the faces, but it's hard to do that when the premise is that the MC is as apathetic as possible, which also makes up for somes interesting moment xD, but that's the initial goal. It also kinda uses chibi a little too much which may be a way to cut corners, but if it's to keep the rest decent, I'm all in. On the other side, I wanna mention how both the OP and ED are fucking bangers and are somes of the best this season imo. OP sang by Mayu Maeshima, who was in Myth & Roid before, who did a few Re:Zero song and even did the last OP of it by herself, so it was a certified banger. The ending is more special, a girl singing suki and dancing is an easy recipe for greatness, or should I say Dolkness ?
To conclude, this anime isn't boring, and that's the good part ! I had a fun blast watching it, it gave me hope and made me interested again in the Villainess genre, with it's somewhat basic everything, but good execution overall. It might not be the shiny stone or unbeknownst to everyone the best anime this season (when you see Frieren having 0,3 score higher than FMAB, it's hard to beat hihi). But as something pretty chill to watch and simple, it worked well and I'd recommend you to watch it as a good introduction to this genre or perhaps if like me you had lost hope long ago and cameback to the original 50 words long isekai name reincarnation into another world with the most overpowered powers in this another world for christ sake.

“Living your own life just the way you want” -Otaku Hero
Mahou Shoujo Magical Destroyers is truly an unique and ambitous anime. It's quite a weird and goofy anime with a synopsis whose equally as such, but becomes something way bigger than that, something quite great. But when you read the synopsis of the anime for the first time, your reaction might be something like : What the fuck ? And that's normal, it's the idea behind it, doing something very unique makes you able to use those tools to make something unexpected and that's what you get with the story of this anime. Who would
...
have guessed that Japan out of all places in a dystopian world (yep, truly is a wretched thing equally as bad as the end of the world) would ban the otaku culture and the fact of being hyped over something that you like and punishing the ones who don't follow order, quite a disatrous world this is. This anime was full of surprise, and abitious it was in trying something that has a very intense emotional luggage with a well written story, so let me show you how.
The story is this anime is quite the ride, just the premise is pretty intense and wtf in itself as explained prior. We get this dangerous organisation named SSC run by an evil guy with a :3 face on a TV, Shobon. He and his organisation who took over the government in place to create a dictatorship where they get to control the whole country and repress the most dangerous people on Earth.... WEEBS. They take those tens of thousands of dollars figurines collections of anime waifus in skimpy outfits, put them into a trash compactor and put all of the Attack On Titan fans into prison (though this might be a good thing...) just because they are too dangerous to be kept alive, seriously have you ever tried to stop an horde of dedicated otakus ? They truly are unstoppable, and the SSC understood this and took mesures in order to safely take over the world, in a dream of creating a new world, average antagonist stuff (if you exclude the otaku part lol). Shobon want to become the new god on this planet, but do you know what's closest to god in this world ? Exactly, it's magical girls (who would have thought that there would be magical girls in an anime with mahou shoujo in the title ?) and those girls do delivers quite the humor but also some nice reflexions and emotions because they're all so differents. First, we have Blue (tip on how to recognize her : she has blue hairs), she's very tall, likes to joke and is a fan of masochism (yeah) and weird kinky stuff. Secondly, we have Pink (tip on how to recognize her : she has pink hairs), she's quite small but also wears a gas mask so we never get to hear her, we only hear GOBO GOBOBOBOBOBO but that's why she's the best and cutest while she isn't injecting people with her syringes full of hard drugs (yeah), she's into that stuff. Finally, we have Anarchy (tip on how to recognize her : she's crazy) that's very straighforward and somewhat pretty dangerous (yeah, also she has red hairs). This combo of these 3 girls is really pretty fucked up, but it gives place to very funny moments while also setting up a very high level of emotions that evolves further as we progress trouhough the episodes. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE IS THE HERO WE ALL NEEDED, THE CHAD OTAKU HERO !! The interesting thing about Otaku Hero is that he isn't really good, he doesn't have any type of strenght or (magical boy) power that makes him powerful, he's just a random dude who is very into anime/manga and more, he kinda took the role of leader of the revolution and a hero just like that, he's kinda the pillar of the revolution, everyone follows him and is determined to achieve the same goal as him, to be able to do and love whatever you love. The fact that he's just an average dude makes him even more relatable to the other otakus that's part of the resistance, but taking up the lead of such a dangerous and somewhat deadly mission isn't a chill ride. What I mean is that even with that fact, I think he's a great character that demonstrates how much determination can lead you, accompagnied with his harem of 3 magical girls, he uses tactics to save the world. He might not be an amazing tactician and 200 IQ one trick that every edgy anime teenagers who their favourite character is Ayanokouji from Classroom Of The Elite enjoys or a mastermind who secretly lead a terrorist organisation to destroy the government like a certain Lamperouche, but I digress. Even with that still, I think he tries his best and makes you respect him for what he do, while aknowledging his pain and enjoy the chill moments and achievements made during hard time. But this is only the base of the anime, the ground of it to understand it, how does it convert in the 12 episodes into something good (or bad?), I would say it is very interesting. What I especially liked about this anime is how the tense parts are, it's filled with many themes like drugs, failure, death, war and even more that you wouldn't expect from a show where they also do goofy stuff, but I think the balance between the two makes you apreciate more the characters for who they are and make them more human. I also especially liked the messages being sent from this anime, how collaboration and being together can achieve big things, while also finding the positive, as small as it can be, during the hardest time. Sure you might be fucking bombarded soon, but weebs still gotta debate about which anime from the Big Three is better, the otakus got their priorities straight. I think it adds a charm combined to all of the emotional parts, which can range from happy to sad and many in betweens. The only caveat that I have about the story is.... how tame it is ? Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say it's kid or family friendly, but people were hyping this up as the new Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica with the usual happiness before depression...., which it clearly isn't. I feel like they didn't went as far as they should in the mature themes in order to make you feel and get hit even more when something happens, it might be a bit better than the base minimum in terms of writing a dystopic story with very dark theme, but could have clearly been done better, I do think it had missed potential. Overall, the story was very ambitous, maybe a little too much so they didn't had the time and/or sheer dedication it needs to have higher highs and lower lows portraiyed into the anime.
The only other sad thing that I have to say about Mahou Shoujo Magical Destroyers are it's visual. Don't get me wrong, it's clearly not shitty, it's even pretty fucking good for a few moments, which is very highlighted by the first few episodes and the few last episodes (though I think the beginning was done better than the end), one great example of something very fucking epic are the magical girls transformation (though it's pretty normal for it to be of a very high quality since they re-use the transformation a lot, but it's by design). However, you wouldn't want a sandwhich with bread made by a baker today with a few bologna slices that are expiring in two days, the middle part is still key to the experience. Of course, it's not shitty bad quality like major outsourcing and time issues, I haven't really seen things like that, but I can see parts that could have been better, and I think the lack of hitting visuals during hard hittings story and emotion parts has contributed to the off feeling of the story epicness and tragedy. The animation for this anime was made by Bibury Animation Studios, which I wouldn't consider like a good studio, especially for an original anime story, they are pretty important in trying to portray in drawing form the idea of a writer that put everything he had into a story he just made, without that, you don't have another support of media to express it. Bibury Animation Studios don't make shitty stuff, but let's look at Quintessential Quintuplets season 2 and Movie that they did recently, it's by no mean bad visually, but it's just a harem anime with pretty chill movement, but not on this anime, it's an action show packed with many other things, the animation needs to be to an higher standart, which Bibury tried to achieve and succeded especially in the begining, but kinda lost the spirit for the time after, which sadly as I said impacted the emotional impact of what's being portraiyed into our eyes.
Talking about eyes, another cool sense that humans have is hearing. Was the sound in this anime good ? Especially good, that's why I wanna mention it. I don't always talk about the sound of an anime, because most of the time it's not worth talking and pretty generic, but clearly not Mahou Shoujo Magical Destroyers. I wanna applaude the people who worked on the OST and Insert Songs of this anime, it's fucking good. I think great OST is even more important than visuals during deep and emotional heavy moments, and I wanna say how this anime delivered something very good that I won't forget for a long time, it made tense moments even more tense and made me shiver on many occasions during the parts of the anime that needed it the most. Another very interesting thing to note are how disturbing/unique the OP and Ending are, it's quite magical how they made both of them and how they fully represent the vibe of the anime. You always seems to ask why they are so weird and uncanny at first (and obviously the earrape part of the OP is disturbing), which makes you think everytime you want it (also I really like the OP music even though I'm not much of a rock and heavy metal fan) and the more you progress in the anime, the more you can start to see why it's like that and how accurate is it to the vibe that the anime has to offer. The Ending is also great at presenting something quite sad, which you wouldn't think at first to fit the anime, but the more you listen to the Ending sang in english, the more you get to see how representative it is of the overall desesperate situation that we are in in the anime. It's also a great buffer to let you think about what just happened in the anime and how you'd feel about it. So yeah, very good stuff that's on par and maybe even better than the story itself which has a few flaws.
Indeed, flaws this anime has, but I don't think it was executed poorly and is a demonstration of something shitty, I think the background behind the story still has interesting reflexions that you wouldn't get anywhere else, with some quite funny and goofy moments that make you enjoy the small things in life and the passion of all otaku people. It is not a masterpiece, but I would still recommend you to give it a try, because the tense moments are still great to watch in my opinion. If you're an avanced level 999 weeb boss that like otaku culture and all of the Akihabara and anime shit with cool maids and all, I think you would be a good candidate to at least like it, but probably won't shock you up tremendously.
Got to keep on loving

“A harem anime with 5 sisters in the same house trying to hit on a male main character, I've seen this before....” -Me
Ah, harem anime, they come in all sorts and forms, there is a niche userbase like thems very much, if you are one of them, then The Café Terrace and It's Goddesses are great in achieving that. I wouldn't think that this anime revolutionise the genre, but nonetheless it execute it pretty well in a nice story that was very enjoyable to watch with some very good ecchi. Perfect, isn't it ?
So what's up with this quoted backstory, is it real ? Yeah
...
there's a few things to mention to make it clear, the 5 girls aren't actually sisters, it's just 5 women who all got their reason to not live with their parents that preferred to live with the grandma in a nice family, so they aren't relatives. What this creates is a nice start to a harem anime with the MC being the grand children of the now deceased grandma, who inherited the house and the shop of her grandma, a nice and chill family Cafe restaurant. What follows is a hilarious story where our chad Hayato becomes a boss of a cafe with 5 girls in maid outfits that also happens to live with him in the same house, what an epic flatsharing. It's all a pillar for goofy-ah moments and character development, this newly formed family needs to adapt to each others and live in this tight space, they might not enjoy it as much in the beginning, but they get to appreciate the moment, and perhaps a few romantic feelings starts to develop. What I especially liked about the story of Café Terrace is how interesting the backstory of all 5 waifus gets progressively shown which is always a pleasure to see and like throughout the 12 episodes and makes you more engaged in the anime and the girls themselves.
Now, the funny part, the presentation of all 6 main characters, you could of course say that they're just a generic trope being put onto a girl, but I would think that they aren't that bad, they're all quite funny at least. First, we have Riho, a solid girl who's very passionate and dedicated to her task. Then, there is Akane, a very apathetic woman who doesn't talk much, but is in reality quite deep with people she knows best. After that, there is Ouka, your usual red haired Tsundere (I would be funny if I don't explain further, isn't it ?). To continue, there's Shiragiku (my beloved), a nice girl who's always trying her best, tries to keep everyone happy and smily, but might actually have a serious problem with alcohol (those who knows knows). Finally, there's Ami, FUCKING AMI, and don't be scared, it's not in a bad way, she's just very unique, she's not even interested in the harem or living with a boy, she just does random shit and those shitty things works, she's outrageous and very out of place in an anime like this, very good stuff that will always bring you the unexpected. This concludes our charac..... DID YOU FORGET THE MAN AMONGST THE MEN, HAYATO THE CHAD ? Our mc isn't even trying to have sex with all of the girls, he's crude, he doesn't really have emotion, always have the same :| face and isn't very delicate with women, let's say. But what I especially find interesting about him is how he talks, he is quite profound in what he says, he's not a hero that's here to help the waifus with their problems, he uses words to make the girls realise things, and encourages them to find a solution by themself. And this quite mature attitude might be what makes the girls falls in love with him after a while, he might also do funny things by accident without realising what he's doing is wrong, this show wouldn't be the same if he wasn't there.
Was this harem concept executed well in terms of production ? There's a positive, the anime is made by Tezuka Production, who kinda did Quintessential Quintuplets season 1, yeah it was pretty ugly but this one isn't at least, but that's still good experience for a type of harem with 5 girls, wouldn't it ? I feel like the visuals have nothing bad to say against them, they're quite good and sleek, and the girls have good attributes, the quality of the animation was constant on an alright level. They can draw boobs and ass quite well for an ecchi show, which is a great point for anyone who likes or at least don't mind it. I also wanna mention how catchy the opening is, I really love it but it also seems like I am the minority regarding that.
At the end, it can be understood that if you don't like harem because it's unrealistic, I can affirm the fact that this anime is definitively not a realistic piece of content, but who cares, we still get good stuff for those who likes it. So, if you enjoy watching harem anime and maybe if you aren't mad about some generic stuffs because you're a veteran who watched a few dozen of similar storie, this is definitely a must watch, and as I mentionned throughout the review, there's great ecchi, that's convincing. What's even better is that we're gonna get more of Café Terrace, the story and ass will continue soon in the season 2, you aren't gonna run out of content yet if it's as good as season 1 at least, I'll be there for it !

“Damn those crazy girls really dispute herself more than my almost divorced parents” -a friend of mine
And that's kinda the main thing that I have against Yuri is my Job!, I mean, it has Yuri in the title, that's a pretty convincing argument, but nonetheless, the girls can't seems to stop having drama, I don't know who put the comedy tag on this, but I would definitively replace them with the drama tag, that sounds way more fine for what this is, which is something that's somewhat good, I did liked it for the most parts, but this anime can be very infuriating at the
...
same time, let me explain.
For the story, I would say it's generally a great concept, who wouldn't love a cafe where highschool girls RP as students from a german girls school and do yuri-bait in front of customers drinking their tea, Das ist gut. Only negative part is, as I said before, those crazy bitch who can't stop gibbering around without an ounce of thinking. It always seems like the problems they have towards each other could have been solved if they talked seriously without TREATING THE OTHER AS A BAKA (doesn't really happens but the idea is very funny and do the same purpose lol). Man, if Mai were to buy the service of a professional mediator at episode two when the useless drama starts to happens, we would have had like the enjoyable parts of the anime (which is like 10%) kill the other 90% of shitty ass drama that are just a bunch of maliciously written by the author that makes the situation grow bigger that it ever needed to be, while in the end the girls could just have asked how the other is feeling (how romantic) and it would have been fixed in two minutes (magical~). But as I said, it's not all bad, that's why my rating isn't that low, I do have mixed feelings about this, but I guess if you overlook the glaring flaw (that you might be enought of a schizo to like) you can see a very neat anime with cool characters (while they aren't fighting hehe). Also, the line between yuri-bait RP and yuri is quite small in this anime, which is enjoyable for any connoisseur of this genre.
Then for the visuals and more, it's very solid and that's a great point that enhance the best parts of the anime. The colorful drawings that pops into your retina with the green uniform are stunning in contrast to all character hairs, it's beautifully done. Of course, since the anime is mainly inside the same area, which is the Liebe Cafe, the background isn't very diversified, but I don't think this opts out something because there is a clear purpose for this and it's still great. BUT WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO TELL ABOUT THIS ANIME IF THE STUDIO(S) THAT ARE ANIMATING IT ! There's Studio Lings (who literally has only two entries so let's not talk about them sorry for the people working there) and Passione, FUCKING PASSIONE. If you don't know them, they do very good anime of culture, which surprise me looking at this inoffensive anime, and after looking at 12 episodes, they really went chill on it, tho they had sometimes their fun times with the very small ecchi sparkled here and there, good stuff. This studio + yuri in the name convinced me to watch it, so it worked. As for the sound, I don't have much to say, OP and ED were pretty generic or a bit below average.
In short, this anime has a big flaw, that makes you want to punch your monitor at the characters, but the theme and the idea are actually quite fire if you want something fun and enjoyable to watch if you're a maid cafe fan (pretty similar in concept) or a yuri fan. I would still say to maybe try a chance at it, and when episode two appears you'll see if you can bear it for another 9 episodes or so. It's very unfortunate to see how much greater this neat anime could have been if it was always like the episodes where nothing dramatic happens (thrilling right ?). In the end, I'm happy because it has gay girls in it and very cute Hime-chan.

“I'm Vash the Stampede” -Vash the Stampede (epic I know)
It's a special place, it's the Noman's land, somewhere that's very far away, a planet that the humans can use to live a future live. But with a shitty name like that, you'd expect for it to not be very livable and that's pretty true. It's just a harsh deserted planet that has no resources needed to live on, at least not without the reactors, generator of anything you would ever want (maybe even a friend, or a IRL cat girl, who knowns). In the Noman's land, everything is desolated and the few people living there
...
has no heart, low blows and anything is clearly accepted at the cost of the people that wants to share their humanity and love for each others. One of those people might be Vash the Stampede, someone who's got a very big heart, he's always looking for others and has a dream of peace in this scary planet. However, Trigun Stampede, as an anime and as an adventure, is far from fairy tales and butterfly, it's a place unrelentingly dark and filled with drama. Like a lot of other sci-fi dystopian like anime that's kinda blade runner-esque, you don't have a time to catch a breath, it's always hitting you with something that you, the user that's just sitting in their home, that express your empathy for something so cruel yet as a shine of hope that this anime can bring. It's a rollercoaster, and you should go along and buy a ticket for it !
Do note that many people will compare (generally negatively) this anime because it's a reimagination of the original Trigun anime that aired 25 years ago, because it's not the same thing. I haven't watched the original anime, so I cannot make a point about it, but I wanna note that changing a recipe isn't synonym of it being bad, especially if a lot of effort was put into it to make a cohesive story that's appealing with the base idea and world building of an already existent medium.
As I kinda feel like my first paragraph already encapsulates the idea of this anime that I have and serves the anime right, I wanna mention the qualitative things that I have left to say. The anime is made by Orange, and as you've seen everywhere, it's in 3D, the trademark of studio Orange whose goal is to make people shut the fuck up about the 3D = bad debate, by slapping them by stunning animation that's a way of expressing a intriguing story. And Trigun Stampede isn't an exception to this rule, it's generally stunning, has great smooth animation of their characters moving around and the 3D makes Orange more suited to use a very large scale and big scenery with interesting particles in order to achieve a well done story telling. I wanna mention how it being in 3D isn't a problem at all, I've realized at many points that I was just seeing a nice story being revealed, and wasn't porting attention of it being 3D, my brain literally just processed it as something normal. And when it isn't just normal, it's fucking stunning, it can compete against with other big animation anime at certain key episodes, as episode 12. But of course it's a pretty bad argument to say to watch a certain anime because the animation of the episode 12 is fucking stunning when it's the last episode lol, but still.
Moreover, another great way to tell about a story is with music. The sound category of this anime really made the emotional moments stand out and the drama move emotive, while also making the epic moments feels even more so. It's generally a very great addition to the anime, and portrays what's happening quite well. The interesting choice of music of the Opening might be another revelation in regard to how the music guys at Orange use their dedication of enhancement with music to make us the viewers make it a better experience overall, I like it.
To wrap up, Trigun Stampede isn't there to be compared with it's older brother who's getting all the praise about, he also has things to show, with an amazing story that keeps hitting you hard, make you feel invested into the story and the cast. The drama is always present and every single episode is filled with interesting thing happening, all gradually building up to an epic finale that I'll let you discover. All that meticulously hand crafted by the Orange peeps to prove they can make something fucking good. I'll be very excited to see what the season 2 of this will do, if it still goes beyond and achieve to do it even better, this anime could really become a Masterpiece, the potential is clearly there and I'm very happy with it.

“It's just a feeling, but I'm pretty sure I only made it to this point because of you” -I forgor with character I took this quote from
In a day and age where the virus known as random shitty school life romcom spreads over the great nation of Japan and it's devoted fans from all around the world, the industry never stops pumping at least a dozen of them every season. How the fuck would you be able to make yourself stand out to anime watchers, outside of being a popular anime studio (which Lay-duce isn't really) ? I KNOW EXACTLY HOW ! YOU NEED TO
...
FIND A GIMMICK !!!! And the gimmick here that makes it stand out and want to watch (it might even be the reason why you found out about this anime and why you're looking at reviews to see if it's any good in the overpopulated number of available romcom) is the fact that there is a TOMBOY, LET'S GOOOOOOOOO. A gigachad female is one of the best thing that ever exist, so an anime with one must be good, but outside of the hook that worked here, does Tomo-chan really stands out as a good romcom in general ? Hell. Fucking. Yes. It's simple, it's interestingly gimmicky and would definitively be a good cozy and qualitative romcom to recommend to anyone who like that genre. Let's dive into the deep review !
The story is simple, it's our main heroin Tomo Aizawa that goes to the same high school as Junichirou Kubouta, they've known each others since childhood, they are basically the person they know the most on both sides, they are basically like best friends. Best friends ? hahahahahahahahaha, and that's where Tomo who's developed sentiments for Jun wants to express her feelings and gets friendzoned in the first minute of the anime, and her quest is now to find a way to make him love him. It's silly, but it works wonder, it's well written and the evolution of the relationship between Jun and Tomo strengthens and they both explore new feelings and sides that they've never seen on the other one. Both of those characters, the two MCs are the pillar of the anime, but before building a pillar, you need a solid foundation, something that carries the rest of the building, and the thing that carries the most this anime are the side characters overall, they simply are the bests !
Of course I've told about Tomo before, but I still didn't give enough credit to her yet. Tomo is a Tom(o) boy, a highly muscular and sexy waifu like we love them that can beat a whole delinquents gang with her bare hands. You should never mess with her, because even his best friend Jun get's hit by her every episode, because that's her way of expression, fight is communication (wait that's not how you should do it?), and her wearing a skirt with shorts under really makes this charadesign shine (maybe a bit lol). She's always fully energetic, running towards anything, since nothing can stop her and her no secound thought really makes it quite amusing to watch. Then there is Jun, Jun has always admired Tomo, she's just a chad, and he was just a lone kid, but Tomo gave him motivation, energy to go forward and learn how to be a great person, like how punching everyone is the way to live, what a great teacher he got ! In reality, Jun is kinda like a male version of Tomo (that might be a reason why they would kinda love eachoters in a romantic anime..), they are both very extroverted and straightforward, but inside they are kinda shy and both blush a lot. Then there is Misuzu, the representation of lacking emotion and the devil of messing with people (this one isn't in CSM), she always has an idea in mind and her smirk face always make people around her unexpectedly love her, she might try to act boring to people don't bother her, but she's able to be the best friend of Tomo and Carol by accident. She's fucking hilarious. Then there is Carol, JUST LOOK AT HER FACE HAHAHAHAHAHA. It's definitively a big positive for both the cast and us the viewers, she's unique, she's just randomly doing things and wants to hug everyone, she spreads her positive energy even by accident and makes everyone happy and giggles. With such a solid cast like that, the reason why the comedy is such well done is pretty apparent, you simply need to write fucking good characters, and this anime definitively delivers, the gang of all of those is a blast to listen for 13 episodes, the comedy is gold and it's fucking hilarious. While at that, the romantic part isn't left out, it's by having the random goofy moments that seems like you're just part of your group of friend and are joking around without any second thought or idea of hurting anyone that all the characters gets to learn each others more, and all they have to offer, to gradually make a great, interesting and enjoyable romance, what's more to ask ?
I've kinda told what I wanted to say, but I can quickly mention the very clean animation, no episode never felt badly animated and it portrays everything that you would ever want it and the very goofy-ah Opening really fits with the anime itself, it's really a TELEPATHY !!
To summarize, this anime is a guide that others romcom should follow, they don't make a shitty plot based of the twist, it's actually funny from beginning to end and the cast is rock hard solid with diversified characters that makes the enjoyment tenfold. I gladly recommend this anime to watch, there is no headlock and it's just a relax anime to have fun at, what else could you ever ask ?

‟One day, 40 years ago, Rumiko Takashi made a manga, waifu was born and the rest is history”
Urusei Yatsura is a classic, a reference and a pioneer in the romcom genre, having this historic piece of japanese animation being remade in the beautiful craftsmanship of today's visuals, seiyuu and musics is a great honour for this anime, the idea of remaking a classic but way nicer is a nice way to make the new generation of anime fan enjoy grandpa anime peak, but does Urusei Yatsura (2022) fulfil this task and makes it an enjoyable watch ? Maybe, it's pretty complicated. It's sad to say,
...
it had everything to be good, everything except this caveat, this thing that stuck with me the most during this watching, IT. IS. NOT. FUNNY. Before arguing, let me explain in the following paragraphs.
It is VERY important to note that comedy and what you find funny is SUBJECTIVE, everyone has their own taste in comedy, and a certain person can find something extremely hilarous while their neighbour would have a straight and apathetic face, AND THAT'S OK. If you've found Urusei Yatsura funny, it's understandable, it's made to be funny and it's filled with silly jokes. But as for myself, this was the least funniest anime that I've seen yet. I haven't been able to enjoy more than 75% of the episodes because except thinking hmm ok and maybe a smile once or twice per episode, most random comedic story is very plain and 1D. I really feel like it's because the jokes are too old, most of them are simply unfunny and sometimes just wrong or malicious (it could work in a more enjoyable anime where something somewhat offensive could be used as something to bounce of and make something good out of it, but not there). It just keeps repeating itself and never tries to make it another way, it's just the same bland thing over and over that I cannot find to enjoy, which is a bummer compared to the rest.
What's the rest ? Something quite qualitative I would say, and the reason why it's generally pretty acclaimed as something neat. Compared to the original anime adaptation that's still pretty old, it's not a question to ask if it's better now, because it obviously is, it's really like a ULTRA HD 4K HDR version of it (even though I could say that after a while the outsourcing kinda shows and that's unfortunate that David Production wasn't able to deliver fully for all 23 episodes of something that wasn't that hard to achieve) and graphics are one of the main way you can hook a random anime watcher to a certain anime, or else they will just say it looks shit/old and won't watch it, it's the most important part that they made in order for the new era of anime watchers to see this. Something that they definitively didn't cheap on are the seiyuu that they used for the characters. There is a plethora of them, and there is a pretty high likelihood and if you know a certain seiyuu, it will be featured in this anime, which is always epic to see and excite yourself about. The final thing I wanna mention that's so great about this anime are it's Openings and Ending, MAISONdes outdid themselves and literally made the best opening of 2022, it's an absolute banger and I'm very impressed by it, it's of course always secondary to the content and execution, but a very neat part of it. So yeah generally this anime is very polished and a lot of effort was put into it, which is a sign of quality.
In a way, it's hard to determine if it's a good watch or not, outside of the peak that's episode 10 (won't say anything about it to avoid spoiling), I did not find it enjoyable, but that's only on a very subjective part of the anime, so I can't really say it's bad in any way, especially how strong the other parts of this anime is. I would probably say that the comedy is hit or miss, so it'll probably be up to you to determine if after 2-3 episodes you find it comedic or not, if you do, you'll most likely have a blast, if you find it unfunny, please stop, it's the exact same mistake being repeated over and over again, and I will have told you that it's not that funny. To conclude, the reboot of Urusei Yatsura is a cool idea, having already a season 2 announced might just make a best of everything the original manga and anime has to offer, in a way that anyone can enjoy, but I won't be watching that as for myself.

‟wtf why did Bind picked this anime they are down so bad in degeneracy” -maybe someone on Twitter
And that's exactly what's good about it ! Thank you Studio Bind for bringing us Onimai on our screens, big boobas have never looked that good ! To be more serious, let's start off the review for real. What's Onimai ? It's just your average young adult unemployed dude and eroge vn lover getting drugged by her mad scientist (hi s;g) little sisters into a (legal ? please no definitively don't post that on Twitter) loli and how Mahiro as our protagonist needs to survive in the hard
...
task and wasteland that it is to be a high school female student. What does this premise actually makes with the content of this anime, why would this weird story work ? After watching it fully, I see the genius ideas that came out and are used from this stoopid event.
I also wanna note that while my review is highly positive towards Onimai, it doesn't mean that anyone would enjoy it as much, that's of course true for any anime, but maybe even more this one, it's all personal taste. If you don't like ecchi and loli (and maybe think that adding those two together makes it even worse), it's totally fair that you'd hate this anime. As for myself, I ain't scared of anything, ecchi is cool. So what's about this that makes it in any way good (except the ecchi of course, but I will talk about it later) ? Who would have though, but a Magical Sex Shift can really mess our understanding of the surrounding world, and that's exactly what Mahiro does, he always learn how to adapt in this vastly new world and we get to see his character development over the course of 12 episodes, and as her sister Mihari has planned, make it so his fucking NEET onii-chan can go outside and live a normal live, which is fully filled with the wholesomeness of this show. Wait, that's wholesome ? It indeed is, the cute Mahiro's voice combined with the whole cast of girls and classmates makes it like if you're part of the gang yourself, you start to appreciate the small relationships, especially Mahiro who never had those before. There are a lot of chill and very heartwarming moments in the anime, that simply express love for your family, friendship and enjoyment as a whole, this anime can really touch you in your heart and make you feel chill while giving you a boner, it's genius. To add to the wholesomeness of this show, one of the best thing that pairs with it is comedy, and it still delivers in that regards. Onimai is a perfect mix of serious and fast paced moments, sometimes it's just goofy moments in a cute SoL that makes you go giggle real hard because of how hilarious they are, it's clearly a beautiful mix of everything, and as a great comedy lover, it's the cherry on top that makes me interested in this anime. It tries to be everything, and it succeeds in such.
Moreover, Studio Bind couldn't have been a better studio for animating this. As their second anime ever, everyone was excited to see their quality and usual ecchiness on another anime. As it did with the story, it stills delivers, and is probably one of the nicest and cleanest visuals of any SoL and ecchi show you've seen. When it needs to (and when it doesn't so they can flex more), the animation of it is insanely smooth and a lot of shots could become a pc background. The character designs are well made and the fake 3D effect that they sometimes uses on things like hands really shows how good Bind has become, and all that on a fucking Slice of Life show. The other thing Bind is known apart from them doing clean and smooth things is how good they can make ecchi and fan service look, and of course, this anime is full (I mean, it's not tagged as ecchi, it's just sometimes there in a few episodes and in spirit) of it, and it really has some of the nicest animated boobs that I've seen in anime, it's a big plus, obviously and they've really put a lot of effort into it, really is a passion project for anyone working on it, wanting to make this somewhat normal anime (that a few cultured manga readers really enjoyed) into something almost magnificient that's beautiful in every way.
I also wanna note how good looking the visuals and the song of the Opening and the Ending are, they are both in a strong contender for best OP/ED of 2023 and it has only started bruh.
Onimai might not be for everyone, but for me, it was. A very weird story that actually works out in something uniquely interesting in terms of character and topics addressed, while filling my degeneracy and a blast in animation and funniness. Enjoyment is a big factor in this anime. If this review hasn't made you think that this shit is fucking weird, and that I've picked your interest, I would highly recommend you watching this, I love it ! (Do note that the orange logo guy has the censored version, which cuts a few seconds and scenes every episode, it's not like if you're gonna see bare naked boobs, but even regular ones might be cut from it, so go watch the uncensored one !)

‟I want to love all of you” -Kaguya Shinomiya
It's Love is War ! The funny show where they can't express their love for each others to not feel inferior. Of course, after 3 seasons you probably know the deal. And funny it was, some of the most hilarious moments happened in season 3 and it even became the highest rated anime on MAL for a moment, which is pretty epic for an anime that I really like. Love is War started as a episodic comedy manga, and even with that fact, the time that we dedicated ourselves to read/watch it made us appreciate the students
...
council gang a little bit more every time (also the bunch of side characters that are useful to the story and development). At this point, when you know those characters that you love so much, thinking about going further than doing war for the funnie and go into the LOVE part, and oh boy did Kaguya-sama: Love is War - The First Kiss That Never Ends delivered this premise, as to absolutely enhance and hit the avid viewer with very tense and emotionally beautiful moments.
This anime is a RomCom (Romantic Comedy) after all, so let's talk about the comedy first (because I fucking can). I did say that the romantic part of this series, often considered as the staple of his genre, was very deep this time, and that it did hit me and appreciate those characters even more, but don't you worry, the comedy is still there, and it bangs ! While it might not be as significant as the regular seasons, there was a lot of funny moments in this movie, and most of the jokes were hilarious, made me jiggle a ton (but not really anybody else in the room, are those people apathetic !?) and was spouted reasonably over the course of the 90 minutes, the balance for the comedy was perfectly fine, it stays on it's initial roots while sprouting something more serious.
Now onto the big chunk, the golden part, it is obviously the romantic part. After the events from the last episode of season 3, our two main characters, Kaguya and Miyuki doesn't know what they should do afterwards if they want to further expand their romantic feelings towards each others (after all, they spent all of this time previously to not do that). I really liked how deep and psychological parts were executed, it's one of my favourites things in anime but did not expect them in Love is War, but when you see how big brain and how foreseeing they both are, it wasn't at all out of the realm of possibilities. Love, what IS love (baby don't hurt me), how to deal with responsibilities, what the future might holds, how you need to do crucial and definitive choices, how you try to be seen as perfect, how to expose your weaknesses, what true and genuine love feels like (hello Oregairu). Some part of this made me shiver, some part of this almost made me cry, but not out of laughter this time. This really encapsulates my opinion of the anime, and the best part of it. I don't wanna spoil you, I want you to experience it yourself.
Some people might say that it is very unfortunate that this anime has way less focus on side characters, like Ishigami, Chika or Miko and the rest. I kinda do agree that they are all very cool and that it cannot hurt to have them, but having a whole-ass movie length episode of some sort about the 2 MC really puts on the foreground what's important, while the other side characters are just spices made to make the meal more enjoyable and bring out the fun and comedic parts, which in itself is completely fine. Even if your favourite character from this anime isn't either Kaguya or Miyuki, it will still show up and has some sort of impact, the balance of it all is fine and isn't a concern to have in my opinion.
A-1 Pictures is known to do some pretty nice things generally (when it's not putting things on hold), it's such a massive studio making so many things, so you would expect the animation to be fine, even though it's just a romance, not a fighting anime, but as you saw with previous seasons, especially the third one, a romcom can in fact look fucking stunning and clean, and this anime follows it up very well, with some unexpected insanely clean and good looking parts. The color palette, the mastery of sunsets, night shots, the deadly and soulless crimson red eyes of Kaguya in the dark all makes it look stunning, especially on a big theatre screen. Funny thing is, A-1 Pictures did made another movie 2 months prior, the SAO progressive 2 movie, and I would argue that this looks better and got more polish and love than this sword fighting anime, but I digress.
Sometimes, you don't really care about the sound in an anime, even I do sometimes. It's probably a mix of many reasons, but this time I do wanna talk and review the sound of this movie, because there are very good things to say about it. The start of any good anime is the Opening, so it would be logical that I talk about it first. Masayuki Suzuki is loved by this anime community, because of his unique take on anime songs (I mean, he only does Love is War Ops in this sphere of music), it always goes hard and each of his 4 Openings are banger, this one included. Love is Show (the name of the OP) is probably my second favourite, but in reality all of them are probably 10/10, so you'll be sure to enjoy the start of the movie because of it. The OST that you might have heard previously in other seasons are also present, this + the piano musics really makes an emphasis of the emotive and dramatical parts, a mix made to make you feel the moments even more. The insert songs also does that I mentioned previously, but probably better. The one near the end is REALLY good. The Ending is neat, it gives you times to think about what happened, how good it was, share your opinions about it with your friend (if you can do that, but I can say that my friend enjoyed it as much as I have) and what to write in a review if that's your type lol.
This might have been a bit long, but I now feel satisfied with my duty, to share my hype about this movie, when I say it's fucking good, it is indeed fucking good. Hilarious, goes hard, looks stunning and with musics that makes you dance, I don't really associate A-1 Pictures with passion projects, but I feel that with this quality, it cannot be otherwise. The manga really is that good to make an adaptation that's such intricate and good/interesting to watch. I HIGHLY recommend you to watch it (even though it's probably too late for cinema showings, but you could wait for the BD release in a few months), it's the peak of Kaguya-sama : Love is War (maybe just so far, manga readers says it goes even harder and with how they left it at the end of the movie, there are many things that could be very (very) interesting to see) for me, if you have already watched 3 seasons, a movie couldn't hurt, except maybe your heart. It was hell of a ride, a very beautiful one. In the end, I just changed my favourites with the season 3 for the movie, because it did had something unique that wasn't in the other parts, while continuing on what makes this so good.
I also did a total of 10 hours of travel by car to watch this movie, AT LEAST IT WAS WORTH IT FOR THAT.
