While watching Kusuriya no Hitorigoto I kept thinking about how similar the relationship dynamic between Maomao and Jinshi is almost identical to the one between Haruhi and Tamaki. If you ever thought of how a alternate story would be if Haruhi and Tamaki lived in Imperial China then Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is it.

The MC Joe and Kazuma remind me of each other. They both are outcasts trying to make a living by what they are best at, fighting. They live in the "slums" and are not considered "citizens". Their personalities are similar in that they have fighters spirits and are also kind. They both live how they like to and by their own beliefs. They are also both very talented in the art of combat and show a lot of promise. They are set in the "future" where "technology" is heavily relied upon. The rivalries between the MCs is similar as well. If you like one give the other a watch.

Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis is similar to Slayers in the way the characters and setting are depicted. They share heavy fantasy worlds in where there are loads of demons, gods, lords, summons, magic, and all things fantasy in a medieval setting. The protagonist Favaro is reminiscent of Lina from Slayers, in that they have orange hair, are comical, attract danger, and have many vices, such as money and food. They even have their own "rival" of sorts, Kaiser for Favaro and Naga for Lina.

OK, although you wouldn't associate these two series with each other as the genres are so different, the feelings I get from both series is very similar. A great cast of characters well blended together, and many intense feelings in both. The very well animated tense "action" scenes and excitement of what will happen next. The sense of camaraderie is prevalent, teamwork and strategy is needed in both. Also Hinata reminds me of Eren in that they are both very passionate about their goals, have innate talents, and are being hindered by a wall with "titans" behind it.

The series both hold an air of mystery surrounding the very world they live in. Both series protagonist are in similar situations, although one is a prince and the other princess, both are royalty who was unwanted and was sent to have been killed and disposed of, but were spared. They were both raised by a family who adopted them, having "siblings" they hold dear and squabble with. Consealing their identies as two unwanted royalties both protagonists experience romance and heart break. Although The Pilot's Love Song does not use magic as much as Scrapped Princess it is still a key plot device that holds both stories together and develops them both. As such in the case of both having a female protagonist who holds mystic powers and also has to hide their identities. There are other similarities that can be found upon completing both series.
