I would have possibly rated it higher if I had alzheimers or was taking LSD regardless it is pretty terrible, the art style are just simplistic blobs and trippy visuals about the universes with some variations and its shown by clips looped over and over again. There is no story as its just clips of a random person floating in space getting sucked into a gourd nor is there any audio at all other than the music. It is pretty boring and basically unwatchable I don’t find it interesting or enjoyable not do I think anyone else would so its not recommended to watch this

After considerably being disappointed from the first 3 episodes, the show manages to get progressively worse. Its quite stunning how bad the show gets.
The show stated off alright, the first 3 episodes went over the first volume very quickly with watered down personalities and fights but I was sort of maybe interested in what the story could lead with its anime original story line and its just completely terrible even if you were not a fan of the original RWBY or never watched it you could tell how horrible the show is. The rest of the show focuses on a pointless dream sequence filler that
...
is neither interesting, well written, nor any of RWBY's strong points such as comedy, fight choreography, etc.
If you had no RWBY experience and only saw this you would think the series was terrible, i'm not gonna act like the story for the original was great but it at least had personality, stand out characters, and good fights the story here just feels like nothing and no one would gush over a show like this where it promises to be based off an existing series but its nothing but a dream, not to mention somehow although rare the cgi somehow looks worse than its predecessor which is kind of hilarious but just sad because it is nothing like RWBY and its trying to make its own identity but not in any note worthy or good ways.
I don't think anyone would recommend this series as the show is not a good way to get into RWBY nor is it good on its own, I doubt they would but hopefully they do not green light a season 2 because theres really not much worth redeeming if at all

On rewatch I noticed several over glaring flaws, now I wasn't a fan of the movie to begin with and i'm just not a fan of Makoto Shinkai when his flicks are very style over substance, however this story feels entirely made up on the spot and is completely improvised. The story is just a watered down version of Kimi No Na Wa(your name) not that i'm even a fan of that but I can say it is way better than whatever this is.
What about the characters? they have to be pretty good right? The story is about a kid who runs away from home
...
and tries to move to Tokyo, why you ask? just because, yea theres literally no reason at all they literally dont explain why you're just supposed to guess why because who needs to write important character motives or a backstory, oh ok there must b some good characters right? theres no way a movie can be this half baked right? Well the main obstacles in the show are the police I guess but they are completely useless and pretty much should all be fired there are several examples on how all of them are terrible at their job, such as the time they knew Hina is underaged and faked resumes including the time she attempted underaged prostitution probably likely had heard she could change the weather considering even big companies throwing a firework party knew about her or would try to associate her with the natural disasters Japan is facing and seemed pretty famous considering all the jobs they got, several other reasons the police might try to arrest her or like... do anything. However they will try to catch a kid because he's homeless and has a gun, they sure got their priorities straight considering they literally confronted Hina but completely disregard her even knowing who she was. Or how the police fail to catch a little kid like 4 times. All the other characters are pretty garbage too but if I did an analysis on all of them that would be the entire review so moving on
Maybe the characters aren't so great but maybe the plot is much better? Wrong, again the story is just about a boy in city meets girl and deal with some mysterious supernatural phenomenon and then girl dies but isn't actually dead because the man saves the damsel in distress by talking things out and overcoming obstacles(people who are irrelevant side characters) and overcoming them through feelings, then saving the girl, getting separated from them, meet each other years later and bam instant classic earning hundreds of millions worth of money. Oh wait thats the plot of Kimi No Na Wa, couldn't he have made a different story rather than a shameless clone?
Ok so clearly the characters and story aren't great maybe the show has some strong points, lets see they have uh... animation? ok sure that works I guess, they also have some decent music too? Alright I guess thats enough to give a mal average above 8 these days, I guess it sells so whatever he's doing must be a good enough formula for people to just like movies regardless of quality considering the show tries to take itself seriously and tries to tell a deep character driven story but fails to do anything with it

in an edgy game where people kill everyone, the main character thinks violence isn't the answer and talk no jutsus everyone he sees including psychopathic killers to join his side.
that's basically the plot of the story but it's not bad, the show may not be the most original (*coughs* edgy fate) but its certainly suspenseful and all these characters have really interesting abilities that their sigil gives, the main character can conjure anything he's seen (or something like that since they don't full explore it yet) and use them as his weapons, he usually uses this power to plan tactically in order to show
...
off his big brain, mostly because people underestimate him and don't think he could pull off anything that complex

Its another isekai, and not a good one given this was inspired from the game
The animation is passable but, most of the characters were either unlikable due to being incredibly stupid, or barely even relevant to the plot, along with that the movie refuses to explain things like how Yu is crippled in the city world but isn’t in the fantasy world, along with that he is linked with his friend so he should’ve also been crippled, or why they were even transported in the first place since the villain could’ve easily killed the king and everyone else, he already was in the process of
...
murdering the princess so what was the point of bringing them there?
The villain was barely even featured in the plot at all so there was no feeling of threat
There is almost no build up to the plot twists, and the show tries to make it sound like it was obvious this entire time, literally the only 2 hints i could find from my first time watching was the guy being named “Yu” and how they say they fight as if ‘they were the same person’(or something like that) yet one is clearly more skilled as well as being clearly smarter, i really don’t understand how stupid the plot is. However this isn’t entirely bad, it had a few redeeming qualities, and like 1-2 likable characters(excluding the characters that are linked together since Haruto is bad).
They also had an aspect they just ignored, they had other species/races and they barely even talk about it, none of the important characters are any of those

the fan service is abysmal, i could go on and on about it but just know don't take this show seriously because there's fan service mid fights just to try to break immersion because the show itself doesn't even want you to take it seriously, the story is mediocre at best, animation gets lazy a lot of time ( which i don't blame them because fire is usually hard to animate so every other scene they probably cut budget if its not a fight), most characters are boring and lame which makes it not very fun to watch, fights are mostly very short/not that great
