Males who are feeling angry at and frustrated by women might like this show. I was in this mood when I watched it (normally I would have dropped it after a couple of episodes), but it left a nasty “taste” afterwards. An over-powered MC who subdues an all tsundere harem by beating the girls up (and they are depicted as deserving it) in order to “help” them.

Females, I would guess, are likely to hate this show. It features an extremely prejudiced view of feminism as being nothing but hatred of males. While there are feminists like this, in my ... experience at least they are a small minority.

Even within it’s own context, this series has serious flaws: no plot, poor characterization, no character development. Art, music are ordinary — actually by current standards, below average.

I watched this series much longer than I first expected to, but the child-like quality finally overwhelmed the attractive character development and the general zaniness. Might have worked better for me with fewer episodes. Still, this series is an interesting alternative to the "usual" -- but "Girls' Last Tour", "Kaiba", "Knights of Sidonia, "RWBY," everything by Shinbo/Shaft, etc. provide a lot of other alternative anime too, but are much better IMHO.

BTW, since I am a dinosaur, I played the old 2-D games to which this series makes occasional references -- they aren't half-bad even today (I'm not sure, but there may be ... new games of this type still being created by amateurs). Had they managed somehow to integrate them into the story the series might have been odd enough to make more of an impression on me. Even better would have been to actually cut in "scenes" using the text style of the ur-game "adventure," although the market segment of pre-PC gamers who watch modern anime must be quite small (and shrinking as we gradually die off). Fortunately increasing age does not necessarily lead to decreasing interest in novelty, although I'm sorry to say that I've not had much success in getting my fellow senior citizens to watch anime or listen to hip-hop, even with Studio Ghibli's or the Gorillaz amazing productions.

Even though I am an old astrophysicist, I'm OK with the echii/harem genre -- sometimes I just want brainless fluff as a change. But this one, IMHO, transcends the genre by pushing all the tropes to maximum. The result is a parody of the genre achieved while staying absolutely true to to the genre, by which I mean there is no added self-mocking, "tongue in cheek" humor, or any material that "breaks the fourth wall". So it's funny in two ways at once. I've watched it two or three times and it's always charming. [BTW, if you like ... like unusual parodies and are a native speaker of the American dialect of english, watch some episodes of of Gakkou no Kaidan with the english dub (NOT the subbed version). Funniest stuff I've seen in years.]

From just episodes 0-3 it looks to me like this series will be the best of the season. Adult demographic SF with emphasis on concepts; more talk than action. Art for alien parts is eye-candy; terrestrial, ordinary, at least by comparison. Characters have actual character but it's too soon to know what if any development will occur. I have some concerns about the alien being too powerful and too benevolent, but further plot developments may put twists into the initial situation -- I like what I've seen so much that an original twist or two might even be in store. ... (By 'original' I mean not something like a simple good/bad flip.)

The similarly-named precursor anime, Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko, is a fine example of what I call “lapidary” anime. Such works are elegant, concise, and concentrated, and bear the same relation to anime in general as poetry does to prose. Like poetry, creating anime of this type requires artistic ablity, skills developed through much practice, and great attention to detail. The creator/director of the precursor work, Makoto Shinkai (新海 誠), is the foremost practitioner of this style, having created a remarkable string of lapidary masterpieces, e.g. 5 Centimeters Per Second and Voices of a Distant Star.

Alas, Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything ... Flows, is an attempt to create a work in the lapidary style by a team at LIDENFILMS that thas no experience working in this style. (Most of their output is mediocre at best). The result is a total failure: arty rather than artful, insipid rather than intense, sentimental rather than moving.

Don’t be fooled, this is just a cheap look-alike, not the real thing.

Since the episodes we are being reminded of have just aired, this recap is totally pointless. If, by some chance you are coming to this series for the first time, please, just watch episodes 1-14. You will not be able to make sense of them from this episode. If, like 99% of viewers, you have been watching from the beginning, you will gain absolutely no extra information, alternate view of the story, or even just new artwork. Even though this recap is told nominally from Sinon's point of view, it is provides no new material concerning the plot or the characters. ... A total waste of time!
