-Tatsumi & Esdeath greatly resemble Elen & Tigre, in terms of how they look as well as their relationship dynamic. -Elen's role as a war maiden is very similar to Esdeath's role as the top imperial general. -The harem's centered around Tatsumi and Tigre are quite similar in the broad cast of women, including some who are bitter enemies with each other. -Each story begins with Tigre and Tatsumi being thrust into a foreign land that's alien to them. -The Imperial Arms found in Akame ga Kill! and the Dragon Gear found in Vanadis are similar in that they're incredibly powerful, seemingly magical artifacts that play a large role in terms of the artifact itself deciding who is and isn't worthy or wielding it.
