Both are idol anime with a similar feel if you liked one you might like the other, however Idolidh7 has better characters and the protagonist isn't brain dead like the one in Uta no pri. But both are similar with the music and idol aspect

Both have elements of the Shinsengumi, But Touken Ranbu is about historical swords transformed into men to protect history. The swords from the shinsengumi include Kashuu Kiyomitsu and Yamatonokami Yasusada two uchigatana wielded by Okita Souji, And Izuminokami Kanesada(uchigatana) and Horikawa Kunihiro(wakizashi) wielded by Hijikata Toshizou

Same sorta of main character a cute young girl and her supernatural guardian. Same cute feel. Except the guardians are different, in one anime it's a bear and in the other it's a fox god.
