Wonder Egg Priority, an anime that was amazing and filled with potential, just for it to be thrown away in the ending. Now this review, it's not a negative or positive one, just a mix I guess.
Starting off with the story, I feel like this was the biggest let down. The story overall was decent, it tackled a lot of very serious and touchy subjects that could hit close to home in each episode. Filled with flashbacks and plot holes big enough to be annoying, it just left you quite confused with what was actually going on. The most disappointing part of the story however
...
was the ending, like I said at the start. Not only was it confusing and disappointing, they revealed too much about the story way too late into the anime and left so many plotlines unresolved. It really just did not feel like a final episode, and instead felt like there should be maybe 4 or 6 more episodes before it'd actually be complete. It's also just disappointing how they would reveal things about characters and things that seem like they're all supposed to tie in together and just never do. It feels as though they revealed key parts of the character's backstories just because they felt like it, and didn't even intend to have those be important or resurface in the future.
Speaking of characters, the character's were very well done. At first glance, they're all simple and their personalities are clear. However as we go further into the story, we find out more about them and they feel more and more alive. Each of the main characters have their moments, and in every episode they are slowly but surely given more depth and development as we learn more about them. The development they go through is shown clearly, and all four have very contrasting personalities which are all unique, as well as their designs. Overall, the characters are great. They're pretty realistic, unique and their designs are all cute too. Not really anything to complain about when it comes down to the characters.
As for the art, the animation was gorgeous. The detail put into the eyes was absolutely amazing, and the cinematics were just beautiful to look at. The art style also contrasted the nature of the anime, with the anime itself being an incredibly serious psychological anime and the art style makes it look as though it's a cheery, heart-warming slice of life. However, I quite liked the contrast, it felt fresh and interesting. Another thing that was interesting with the art style is how in the opening of the anime they used a mix of animation and real life pictures to bring it all together. It took me aback at first, but all's I can really say about it is that it was interesting. The only issue I had with the art is that it seemed inconsistent. For example, without spoiling too much, there would be scenes where blood would splatter everywhere yet the characters and surrounding area would appear completely untouched.
Finally, the last aspect of this anime. The sound. Now, music in an anime is incredibly important and this one did it right. The backing music used sounded good and fit the scenes perfectly, and was great at instilling whichever emotion it desired into the viewer, whether it be suspense or sadness. I don't remember many atmospheric sounds being used, and if they were they did not have much impact at all which is quite disappointing. As for the opening and ending, it felt as though they should be swapped. The opening is an incredibly slow paced and calming song, and generally just felt like an ending song. And the ending was the complete opposite, the ending song felt as though it was made for a completely different anime, it's extremely upbeat and more like a pop song and really just felt like a slap in the face after something really sad story wise would happen and then you get hit with one of the most upbeat and positive songs. However, the sound in general wasn't bad as the voice acting was amazing. The voices fit the character's personalities perfectly and conveyed the emotions and feelings of the characters very well.
Overall, the anime itself wasn't terrible, it just had a disappointing ending. If it wasn't for that, I think it could've been a 9 or a 10, as I did really enjoy it. All other factors were great and almost perfect and up until the final episodes I really enjoyed watching this.

Highschool of the Dead, an apocalyptic anime that could've been great if it wasn't utterly ruined by the poor physics and vast amounts of unnecessary ecchi.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind ecchi in anime at all, but this anime really just tried way too hard with shoving the fanservice down our throats. There were multiple occasions I thought I was watching a hentai with all the actual sex scenes cut out. For an example, a female character could move just a few steps and her tits would be flying all over the place. The physics in this anime are just terrible, and the
...
infamous scene that showcases exactly how boobs work shows this perfectly.
And that isn't the only problem I had with the art, the art is also just inconsistent and it's really disappointing with how beautiful the visuals are. I honestly would've rated the art a 10 if it wasn't for the inconsistency and poor physics, because the special effects, the scenery, all the cinematics were just so amazingly well made and genuinely beautiful, and I find this especially impressive given the anime is now 11 years old and in that department still manages to beat many animes that are airing this season. I really feel like if the writers didn't try so hard to shove tits in our faces the artwork would've just been better and less disappointing.
As for the story, I feel like the story was honestly a let down compared to everything else in this anime. There were some plot holes, but in all honesty it could've been worse, since many plot holes were patched up. However, one of my least favourite things story wise in this anime is the progression. It just felt slow and boring, it was like they didn't have enough content to actually show us so they stretched out all the insignificant parts and called it a day. You see, for the first 5-7 episodes despite the slow pacing and plot holes I was quite enjoying the anime, but it just kept going downhill and slowly got more boring each episode. Not to mention plenty of the dialogue was just plain embarrassing. Like, sure, I'd expect that from a 2010's anime but in some cases it was to the point I had to pause and just take a second to think "What went through their mind when they wrote that out?".
Speaking of dialogue, the voice acting was actually pretty solid. The voices matched the characters perfectly, and really brought them all to life. There were plenty of atmospheric sounds that also managed to make the anime feel much more alive and also created good suspense in many scenes. Now, one of the things I enjoyed from the sound of this anime is the backing music. Backing music is very important in any sort of media, using the right type and genre creates the desired feeling in the viewer and this anime did a good job with it. The only issue I have is that, contrary to what I just said about them doing a good job with backing music, is that there were a fair amount of scenes that needed backing music and just simply did not have any at all. It just ruined the scenes, made them empty and awkward to watch. The sound is another part of this anime I would've rated high if it wasn't for this one thing that, although small, can really make or break an anime.
And finally, the characters. The characters in this anime really just felt like I had already seen them in plenty other anime. They all fell into some sort of stereotypical anime character category, and all were just mediocre at best. Even the ones that made me go "Oh, I like this character!" I felt were still just ok. Not amazing, not terrible just simply ok. They didn't feel like they were well written, and some of them made me wonder "Why are you even here?" and the reason they were there was most likely for the sake of fanservice. They barely did anything, just stood around whilst all the action was happening, and really the anime would've been fine without them. And not to mention, with the characters that do actually manage to contribute to the story, they just have either boring or inconsistent personalities. They seem to constantly switch up, and it just makes you both confused and annoyed.
Overall, this anime felt incomplete. There were moments where I was enjoying it and excited to watch the next episode, but it slowly just got more and more boring just to have an even more boring and lacklustre ending. Honestly, I'm disappointed in myself for even taking the time to finish this anime even after I was bored by it, all for the hope that it would have a satisfying ending. In the ending, this anime is a 4. It's saving grace being the visuals, and if it wasn't for that I probably would've rated this a 3.

Happy Sugar Life, an anime that appears nice, happy and bright and is actually just filled with messed up people and a messed up plot.
And speaking of the plot- jesus christ it was some sort of plot that's for sure. I don't have much to say about it, but one positive is that it was pretty suspenseful at times! Which is good in this kind of anime, it invokes unease and anxiety in the viewer. Other than that though, each episode was riddled with plot holes which unfortunately made it hard to take it seriously. On top of this, it also felt very rushed at
...
times and had many predictable scenes. So if you're looking for an anime with a story you can take seriously, this definitely is not the one for you.
As for the art- In my opinion, the art and animation of an anime is very important to the point it can save a bad story. Unfortunately, that is not the case with this one. There was poor anatomy in certain parts, however this was less noticeable. Something that was more noticeable though was there were scenes where character's hair clipped through their head. This is the first time I've seen this in an anime that isn't 3D animation, and the fact the first time I noticed it was in a serious scene too really did not help. It just completely killed the mood. As did the animation, it was very stiff in some parts and some scenes look as though they did not put any effort in and it just makes it more comedic than anything, when it's clearly not supposed to be comedic.
However, one of the most noticeable things that I really liked about the art is how bright and colourful it is, and the way it completely contradicts with the anime. It's obviously one of the first things I noticed, and the fact it left a positive impact is good. Another positive is the visual effects, this arguably in my opinion is the best part of the visuals of this anime. The effects added an intense feeling to the scenes, and made them a lot more intimidating than they would've been without.
The visual effects also made the characters much more intimidating than they actually are, unfortunately this is one of the only positives relating to the characters. Each character is incredibly easy to hate, and none of them seem to get any character development. The most we actually get from them is some sad backstory that is seemingly supposed to make them more likeable and make us feel sorry for them, but their past does not excuse their current self and their current selves are just unlikeable. Like I said earlier, there are many plot holes in this anime. A lot of these plot holes relate to the main character and, without spoilers, the main character is portrayed to be smart, however she is constantly making mistakes that are easy to avoid and many of her actions leave you wondering "Well what was the point of that?" or "Why didn't she just do this instead?" and it's honestly just disappointing and contributes to the poor story of this anime.
And now my final point; the audio. To me audio is not only important in anime, but is one of the most overlooked and underrated features of all media. It is incredibly important, and probably the best feature from this anime. To start off, the opening is catchy and nice to sit through. It showcases the nature of the anime very well and definitely helps to set the mood before you start the episode. As for the background music, this one is the one that seems to be lacking in the sound department. Whilst the background music matches the mood of what's going on and really sets the scene, it's also all generic anime music. I feel like I've heard it all before, and their could've been better choices. Especially for the flashback scenes. However the sound effects- now those were good. They added to the scenes and made everything feel so much more alive than they would be without. The final thing I can applaud for the sound is the voice acting. The voice acting was great, each voice fit the character's perfectly and you could genuinely hear the emotions in their voices. Good job on the voice actors, definitely one of the saving graces of this anime.
Overall, despite my critiques of it I quite enjoyed this anime. Unfortunately, I enjoyed it because of how absurd the story was and the fact I couldn't take it seriously. But one thing it did correctly was it caught me in the suspense, and I couldn't wait to watch each episode and found out what happened next. Solid 5/10.

Doubutsu no Mori really is just the embodiment of Animal Crossing, but as a film. As someone who's been playing Animal Crossing since they were a kid, this film just made me incredibly happy and all the small little details were so satisfactory. This is one of those films that makes you appreciate the finer things in life.
With the story, there was about 3-4 different arcs in this one film and they're all pretty short. Usually, I would hate this is in an anime film. Something like this is a bold move and most of the time does not work out, but to me this
...
just makes it feel more like Animal Crossing. Considering this is an Animal Crossing film, I feel as though this was a good choice due to the fact that when I do play animal crossing this is exactly what it's like. Doing small little things every day, running around my village and just having a grand old time. That's what was happening in this film, it was showing you the day to day life of villagers in the game. It was heartwarming, and in the end it all tied together. Like I said, usually doing something like this in a film is a risky move, but I think it paid off.
Now, my two favourite things in this film- the art and the sound. Both of these aspects I feel not only made the film more enjoyable, but made it more homely and nostalgic. The art was exactly what you'd expect from an Animal Crossing film, it's nice and pleasing to the eye- but what's even better is the background art. The background art in this film was amazing, it really brought all the scenes to life and made them look like a scene you'd see on someone's background or as their header. And then the sound, the sound was just amazing. The Animal Crossing soundtrack is one of my favourites ever, and the way it was used in this film was great. Not to mention all the atmospheric sound effects made the film feel so much more cozy and again, added to the nice animal crossing feel of it.
When it comes to the characters in this film, they were all true to the games I feel. And to top it off, all the characters are unique and loveable. They all have their moments, and they're all memorable. The characters work well together, and we get to see their friendships slowly develop up until the end.
Overall, I really enjoyed this film. It was definitely worth the watch and I might come back and watch it again someday, maybe show it to my friends as I'm sure they'd enjoy it.
8/10.

Honestly, this anime had me thinking I was in 2018 and my friend was showing me the unfunniest vrchat video on the face of the earth, and they were thinking it was comedy gold.
Now I'm not a fan of any of the vtubers featured in this, the only one I had even heard of before watching was Unity-Chan, and I think it's definitely safe to say this anime really is not made for people who do not watch vtubers.
First of all, there was genuinely no story for the first half of the anime. None at all, and when they introduced just even a little glimpse
...
of some sort of plot, not only did it not make sense in the slightest but it also felt incomplete, rushed and felt like just another one of their bits they did each episode. They also made it incredibly hard to be invested with each bit being about a minute or two since they were just jumping from bit to bit. Not to mention, each bit was not even funny- I don't think I even laughed once in the last 5 hours, and I honestly would've laughed more watching old minecraft roleplay videos from 2016.
As for the art and quality, this show genuinely looked like it was running on 5-10 FPS. A powerpoint slideshow run on my microwave would've been higher quality than this. And the art- the sad thing is, the 2d art in the opening actually looked ok, and yet it was only used in the opening. The 3d models honestly could've been alot better I feel, as the hair and arms were constantly clipping through eachother and the torso. Whilst I get these vtuber models can be hard to make and it is not as easy as it sounds, they still could've done alot better of a job.
The sound is one of the redeeming parts of this anime, as I honestly didn't have many problems with it whatsoever. The two openings were pretty catchy, and the ending was ok too. The other songs used fit the atmosphere, and the sound effects helped too, but the actual quality of the anime really just made the sound work almost unnoticeable.
And now the characters- After reading the discussion posts on this anime, it's easy to tell all the characters featured in this anime are real vtubers, and probably good ones too! But this anime does not portray them in a way that makes them interesting or in a way that makes me go "Oh, I might check out their channel!" Instead, I'm more uninterested in them than I thought could be possible. They have essentially no personality, and are all unoriginal and boring, repeating the same bits over and over again.
Overall, this is genuinely the worst anime I have ever watched. Again, it might just be because I am not a fan of vtubers! But either way, I feel if you have to be a fan of an outside source to enjoy an anime, it was never that good anyway. Spending five hours of my life just to watch this genuinely felt like torture. This anime is what they show prisoners on death row, and I would not touch whatever the creators of this anime were on with a ten foot pole.
And with that, I'm going to bed. Here's to praying those vtubers don't end up in my nightmares.

This is the first isekai anime I've watched since SAO, and I really hope not all isekai anime are like this because holy mother of god watching this felt like watching a dumpster fire that just keeps burning for no good reason.
Story - 3/10
If anything, it felt like there was barely any story and each episode was just them showing us the main character is overpowered and then throwing fanservice in your face and calling it a day. Each episode was incredibly repetitive and at first, I found the main character being overpowered a bit funny and I was ok with it but then it
...
just kept happening again and again, the anime became incredibly predictable and it just was not enjoyable.
Art - 4/10
I didn't pay much attention to the art, but it really did just seem like normal anime art. Something I noticed that definitely ruined it though was that a lot of the female characters just look like children to a disturbing degree especially with some of the content of this anime it's just.. uncomfortable.
Sound - 6/10
I feel like the sound was one of the redeeming factors of this anime. The opening was pretty catchy, and the ending was good and ok to sit through too. The background music sounded good to me and helped to set the mood at times.
Character - 3/10
All of the characters were boring and reminded me of every other stereotypical anime character from every anime I've watched. The main character is incredibly overpowered, incredibly bland has close to no personality. The two girls accompanying him were also boring and realistically just there to serve as fan service or damsels in distress so the main character can, again, show off how overpowered he is.
Overall - 3/10
This anime is one of the few animes I've completed and been able to say "yeah, this anime was terrible." not only would I never recommend this anime to anybody, I would recommend them to stay as far away from it as possible.

Decided to use this anime as a way to get back into anime since I haven't watched in a while, and I can say whilst the anime was not one of the best I've watched it definitely worked. (* ̄▽ ̄)b
Story - 5/10 - There wasn't much plot or story in my opinion, it just felt like filler episode after filler episode and with the ending it feels incomplete and that there was supposed to be so much more. (;⌣̀_⌣́)
Art - 8/10 - I don't know much about art, but the art on this I'd say is pretty good. It isn't amazing or anything like that, but
...
it's not dreadful and doesn't leave you grossed out by it. (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b
Sound - 8/10 - The sound was good- definitely a lot of moments I had to lower it and also the opening was great! I ddin't want to skip through it and I had it stuck in my head at times. The ending was also nice and enjoyable to listen to as I commented on the discussion page for each episode.
( ̄▽ ̄)/♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪
Character - 7/10 - At the start, I didn't really have any opinion on the characters. They're all very predictable and lack depth but as the show goes on and we learn more about them they all become just a bit more lovable.
(≧◡≦)
Enjoyment - 8/10 - Good! Despite everything I wasn't bored at all and had fun watching each episode. \(^▽^)/
Overall - 7/10 - Not amazing, but a decent watch. It's the kinda anime I'd recommend to someone who's already watched alot and is looking for a quick, fun watch. Whilst I think there was alot of things they could've done better, it was still worth the watch. (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b
