I just had to write a review for this shitty anime with characters that do more despicable things than Gendo Ikari from NGE. Apparently a girl's parents were greedy doctors and used to milk the villagers dry for money and were thrown out of the village but the girl herself wasn't thrown out. i don't know why parents would abandon their child or why the girl still lives in that shitty village at all. i still don't get how her family is involved the main loser's mother's suicide when it appears in the last episode as though she died saving his life. while this girl ... is constantly being beaten, something that would cause anyone, including the viewers, to shudder, the hero is busy flirting with his harem of girls and the adults in the village seem to egg on their children to torment this girl. if there really was a village like this and a person is tormented like that everyday they would become serial killers in the same vein as that kid from the monster. i really would have preferred an ending where the girl kills our lead loser in order to save him from his utter stupidity and then murders all her classmates and then herself. instead she seems to take beatings without question and moreover invites them with provocation and in the end sacrifices herself so that the loser can remember how his mother really died. fuck this shit.

Excellent series with amazing characters. The mother's reasoning for leaving her child is quite reasonable and she doesn't truly abandon her. She simply feels that if she continues to take care of her, she would be a horrible mother and left her to relatives that would take care of her, while she gets back on her feet. This feeling is further reinforced by Shouta's mother. Also instead of having a teenager take care of her all by himself, his family is actually present and bail him out when he screws up. In a way no character in this series is truly evil and no character ... is truly perfect -> only realistic. One should watch this if you are looking for a good romance or a good slice-of-life.

I find this anime to be somewhat sadistic in that you cannot criticize it for its quality yet it feels quite unsettling. While the story taken from the visual novel is only average the characters are exceptionally well developed and feel very real, especially Mitsuki, who is too deeply in love and Takayuki who is too burdened by guilt for one person to realize the pain he's causing to the other. The characters are flawed and realistic and the facial expressions are done quite well. One more gripe i have about this is that Mitsuki and Takayuki are never shown to be truly happy ... even after they reunite. Do not watch this anime for entertainment. You are better off watching a useless harem for that.
