This anime was a hard one to grade, it had its good moments and bad moments. I per say didn't dislike it but at the same didn't fell in love with the anime.
Story: I liked the story, it easy to understand and to the point. At some point you really got invested in whats happening to the characters and the general direction of the series. The thing is I never really felt all-in to what was happening, it was even repetitive at times. What I think happened was the pacing and the 22 episode time frame. It dragged to much for my liking. Its
...
like eating ribs but it was mostly bone, but it was a good plate of ribs nonetheless. As I said, the story is fairly simple and easy to follow so it dragged on for a couple of episodes. You could miss dailouge if you wanted to and you wouldn't really miss anything. The story was just trying to get from A to C as quickly as it could and filled the time at B with non important subplots or speeches from the pianist playing at the time to kill of time. Even though point B lacked point A and C where enjoyable. The story also felt it was going to deliver more with its sublots but it mostly ended out of nowhere. the MC mostly settles for side chick because why not. Then theirs the loli that was in the story because why not and it didn't really get a conclusion to her story. It felt like it was just thrown there to get to the 22 episodes.
Characters:
Theres only 2 characters where that actually matter the rest are just side characters to fill the rest of the series. The MC and main waifu where what carried the show for most of the anime. They both where developed correctly and it felt natural where they where going. The rest of the characters where filler honestly, not one where stood out. The Side waifu was there to just really have a shoulder for the MC to lay his head at the end of the series. The Main rivals of the MC who where they're for the entire series never really got a paid off, mostly to add more feelings to the MC but if they weren't in the series that nothing would have really changed. If nothing really changes if you where a character or not then where you really important to begin with?
Music: The music came out great in this anime, mostly because its a music anime with a lot of drama in it. If the music didn't come across as likable then you failed as a music anime.
General Feel:
It was a decent anime, it had its strong moments and it had its lacking. It was one of those series that I really didn't feel the urge to finish it quickly but it was fun to watch when I did. Maybe if it was shorter It would've come across better and with less time wasted getting from point A to C and more relevant scenes more across instead of moments where you could tune out and wouldn't really miss anything. I feel a score of 7 is good enough for this series. Would i recommend it? If your a big fan of drama, yeah I would.

This anime tried to be so many things that it became nothing at all. I watch this anime out of various remarks of it being the next big thing. It really did have the components to be a special gem but was dirtied to many subplots going at the same time. Some got lost and somewhere half ass. It’s not to say that is was all bad because their where some good things too, but the bad overweight the good.
Story:
The main problem with the series was that it tried too much to be many things. It tried to be a comedy, tried to
...
be deep, tried to be a psychological, tried to be adventure, tried to be drama, tried to be a romance, tried to be a harem. It tried to be a lot of things and it got all jumbled up in the process and it all came out looking bad at the end. At the start I really liked the aspect of tackling the same problem from different angles. The MC has this ability which he comes back to life from a previous point in the past, he uses this to try and change the future. At first it felt like one of those story adventure books which grants you the choice of picking where the story goes, you might end up with a good ending, bad ending or dead. Then you start from the beginning and try it all over again for the best outcome. At first this anime felt like that, the MC started to cross together different situations from different story routes together to get the best outcome against the problem he was facing. This kept up for around the 12 episode I suppose and I was hooked for at least awhile.
The series then just tries to be too different and forgets it strong points. It also falls into a pattern for the rest of its episode.
Problem – MC dies a lot – falls into depression or mental breakdown – pep talk and comes back stronger than ever.
The MC has several episode of mental breakdown during this series which any normal person would have been put in a mental asylum long ago, but the MC keeps coming back from them as if nothing happened. This doesn’t only happen once, it happens multiple times where you just stop believing it. It’s a case of the kid cried wolf to many times.
The mix of comedy with its dark tone, “psychological aspect”, gore, love just made for a bad combination. When you fell into a dark atmosphere, it would be broken by a simple joke and then the series turns into a harem then tries to grab you back into a dark atmosphere. There’s no synergy.
The anime tries to bring up multiple storylines but not a single one was actually completed. The series starts off with the bowel hunters which survives the intense fight just to say I’ll be back” and she never shows up back in the series or even mentioned again. Then there’s the crowing of the new king for the empire which never gets resolves because the story gets derailed, hard. They start talking about the successor for the king around half the series and nothing happens for the rest of the series. Also at this part it was really bothersome to watch. This series tries to be taken series, so when the candidates start to talk on what they’ll do with the empire if they ever have control made me want to stop watching this anime. One of them said she will do whatever she wants, she will get it all and all will bow. Another one said she will use it as her playground, a bunch of nonsense that would never actually fly in the real world. You try to actually talk like that and you would instantly get a mob in your front door. Then the main female leads talking and brings up equality. It just too easy to see where the bad guys lay and where the good guys are. The series treats you like an idiot just in case you don’t know who the bad guys are.
Then there’s the harem aspect of this show, it’s completely uncalled for and the MC gathers a couple of potential GF. The main waifu is barely seen throughout the series while the MC spends his time with another girl called rem that saved his life multiple times and basically is his pillar for support when the MC falls into those dark times. Yet the MC is stuck on this idea that he completely loves the main waifu just cause she more beautiful I guess??
Another aspect that really left me thinking was the MC before entering another world. The MC and no point talks about his life before the fantasy world. Doesn’t feel a shred of lose for his previous life or his parents or anything at all? He just accepts it in 5 seconds and continues down his new life in this unknown world. At no point in the series is this mention and it’s just poor story telling. If the series wants to be taken serious then it should be a lot more consistence with its plot. This also applies to his power which brings him back to past upon death, he never really questions it and doesn’t even bother to explore it. If he tries to talk to someone about it, he feels this pressure on his body that doesn’t allow him to speak. The MC first though is that it’s a mechanism that doesn’t allow him to share his ability with others. He doesn’t even bother to try to communicate this IMPORTANT fact in any other way and just decide to not tell anyone. This ability also has a lot of different applications: It can also kill other people to shut you up or expel any attempt at brainwashing your mind, it just happens and you’re supposed to roll with it.
Characters:
There all bland, have no progression what’s so ever expects for the side girl of the MC and some secondary character. Not even the main cast gets developed. The problem with this is that the story filters out the characters to quickly and brings a new batch of characters into the story not letting any of them really get a time to shine. The story starts off with a pretty tight cast of characters for the first few episodes which you really feel for. After their arc they suddenly disappear from the entire series, appear for one episode mid series and disappear again. This basically happens each arc, each with new characters.
The villains, oh boy did they mostly all sucked. The series is 25 episodes long and tried to build up at least 5 villains. The series gets you to hate them all way to quickly just to roll out the next one making them all feel forced. The one that really busted my balls was the last one, the magicians what’s his face. All he really did was creepy facial expression, screamed a lot and gore. It felt so forced upon in just one episode of buildup, it came out looking even laughable at how over the top the bad guy looked. The anime was just basically saying “Look at how creepy he looks, ohh spooky, hate him”.
The characters that were supposed to be build up (MC and main waifu) where there least expanded upon. The main waifu disappeared from the anime mid series and had no character development what’s so ever. The anime just relies on the entire “Half elf’s are hated because of the connection to the witch” and the series hammers that home to get sympathy on the main waifu and that’s all it does for 25 episodes. The MC’s no better, goes through a mountain of hurdles and multiple dark periods and at the end of the anime nothing phased. Its also stated that hes spends his day in his room just playing games and wasting his time, but for someone that wastes his time, he is athletic, agile, strong and is stated that he somewhat trains, so the characteristic of the MC are changed through out the series when need be.

At the end of the day Re:Zero tried too hard to be different and all it did was become a jumbled mess of a story. I felt like I got lost just trying to express myself and if I did then I’m sorry. Was it a complete waste of time? Maybe, if you look at it with just a sense of entertainment and don’t look in to deep then it’s a good time to be had, but if you’re looking at this series for a deep plot and compelling characters then look somewhere else.

This anime at first glanced looked very appealing to the eye. Its about current military might clashing vs Mid evil times. It had a concept not done regularly and surely was warranted a watch.
This series at first started of strong but as the episodes went on I gradually got more and more turned off as I watched. This series suffers from wanting to be so much that it failed in mostly everything it set out to accomplish. But at least it succeeded in being good Japaneses propaganda.
--
Firstly, I never liked one sided series. By that I mean one side is completely more
...
dominant than the other and its not fun seeing a series where one sided completely dominates the other in every aspect. I at least expected for the Mid-evil kingdoms to form some kind of advantage sometime. Nope! The JSDF(Japanese Self Defense Force) completely demolishes everything it comes against. It was even able to beat the red dragon(which is suppose to be the strongest creature in the other world) with only 3 jeeps and a pair of guns. The JSDF is portrayed as the ultimate fighting group that not even other countries could hope to beat, with scenes of american or Russian soldiers being completely amazed at how good the JSDF is.
--
Secondly, the characters. The protagonist which is not interesting in the least is given the role of an otaku just for the sake of making him relatable to the fans. This otaku is given the role of lieutenant because why not and goes off into a different world to begin forming his harem.
The rest of the cast is even weaker. Theres an elf girl which is looking for her dead father but she doesn't want to admit hes dead. This storyline goes nowhere. Theres The Demi-god loli which just drops everything shes doing to go off with the protagonist. Lastly theres a mage that starts to focus more on Science than what her master has been training her for in less than a couple of weeks. The rest of the cast is just there.
The crew the protagonist assembles are all from the other world which are all incredibly useful but somehow the protagonist in a single episodes befriends them all. These girls alone could give the JSDF a run for their money but they conveniently join sides with the Japanese which are steamrolling through their world. Logic?
Lastly the culture exchange. Thats not presented in this anime. The culture exchange is just the Mid-evil society basking in the glory of how cool and useful the japanese are.
--
Some of the pros? This series had some moments where some plot points where brought out which where interesting but suddenly discarded. It failed to capitalize on its strong setting and decided to insert more harem moments instead. There was one moment which i liked where the refugee camp the japanese started was solely being turned into a small town by the residents(which are the mid-evil people that lost their homes early in the anime). The Japanese where protecting and shaping this small community and it looked like a place where both worlds life together. This aspect was rarely touched.
--
Conclusion: This series might give you a good time if you like harem series with not much depth to it. Its an entertaining watch if not much thought is giving to it. If you where looking for a more serious anime then look away but if you where looking for some diehard army anime with explosions, One sided curbstomps and lolis then look no further.

This anime was such a let down. From the first 4 episode one would think that its going places just to later find out its going straight down a cliff. The story at first seemed cool on how they stole a building and what not to create a new city from the rubles. But when they go to the past to explain everything then it just turns to crap.
Characters:
First of all you hardly feel attached to any of them. The characters are just motivated by a crap love story that goes no where. How did asuma and white girl chick get love ties anyway? It
...
felt so forced and out of place. The panda thats suppose to be a sensei is useless. I thought he was going to kickass but he never gets too. All the characters just arnt interesting.
Story: What started off as a cool premise fell way short. The whole taking over tokyo thing could of gone way better. The ending made no sense what so ever.
Art: Good but what the fucks wrong with some characters eyes. All black or white, shits ugly.
Sound: eww nothing memorable.
What started off as a good series ended in a train crash. If you have others animes to watch then ignore this one for the time being.

When getting into Nichijou one must know that's its a comedy series. Some people don't like comedy series due to its lack of plot, sometimes repetitive jokes or even because there not even that funny! I for one have watched a couple of series like Nichijou, Slice of life comedies. Mostly all of them are usually like 12-13 episodes long. Most of them get pretty repetitive and you don't really laugh. Nichijou has 26 episodes, wow.
I really liked it.
Its just something different while being the same. Its hard to explain, you'll need to watch it.
The comedy: Its simply refreshing, jokes come in any shape
...
and size and its variation is just the best. They rarely recylce jokes and heres the kicker, there actually funny! I found myself just laughing at the screen like an imbecile. Everything is just great, the expressions, the exaggeration at times, the general mood of everything. Its actually funny!
What adds to Nichijou is the art. It might look like whatever but its actually pretty beautiful, Its so simple yet so good. Everything from the detailed backgrounds to the characters. Its all collides in one beautiful cluster f@ck. One might not notice quickly but you'll come to love it.
The sound isn't really that memorable but it fits the atmosphere which is the important thing.
All in all, if your looking for a good comedy series to pass the time then look no further. This series will have you laughing, some stunts and jokes that you have never seen or consider will get you by surprise and make you laugh. Now i'll stop here so you can get watching.

I'll be honest here, If you haven't played the game(the anime is based of a game) for this series then odds are you wont like it. The story isn't deep, there little to no character development and somethings are just plain wacky. Then why did I give it such a big score? If you played the game then you already know what your walking into. The game doesn't even take itself seriously, it continuously breaks the 4th wall and its just one huge gag while it tries to be funny.
For people like me who have played the game then this anime is the best thing
...
ever because we get to see the character animated and moving around, not just a picture of them talking on screen. This is why the people who have played the game give it good scores, because it gave us what we wanted out of the series we already know. If you haven't played the game then don't take it seriously. If your where looking for a silly anime then you just found it.
The story is centered around Neptune and her younger sister Nepgear as they try to save gamindustri alongside there friends. Its a pretty normal plot with a faction trying to conquer the world while the heroes tries to stop them. The story is just arcs from the game animated into a couple of episodes with a few changes. We get most of the characters ranging from the second game(MK2) to the third(victory). It was fun seeing Linda(underling) and pirachu walking around.
"Even villains can use the power of friendship!"
Things like this are what makes this series so enjoyable. It ranges from phrases like that to trying to get they're friends naked on the beach to trying to defeat killer foods. The neptunia cast is pretty large having a punch of different characters that accompany the protagonist through her journey. Some characters appear throughout the series that really get your hairs up if you know them from the game. You probably wont feel anything if your just watching the anime.
Another thing you would notice if you played the game is that they incorporated the game's music and themes into the soundtrack for the anime. It was great hearing those catchy tones again. it really set the mood for the anime. Yet again one would feel indifferent towards this if they haven't played the game.
The art is a 10/10 with no question. Sure there are far better animations out there but thats not whats important. Just seeing the characters speak and move around, have their hands and just be themselves is enough. Thats the prime reason why I watched the anime.
The anime to me was like icing on the cake for the game. If you played the game then this is your dessert. if you only watched the anime then your just eating Icing alone. Not that fun. If you are thinking of getting into the neptunia world then start of with the second and third game of the series. Overall I found this series to be great, a fun watch.
