Tasogare Memorandum

Tasogare Memorandum is a much shorter read but both manga have very similar vibes in that they are slice of life with sort-of mystery undertones. Both have laid-back tones but can have serious moments when they want it. Simple, heart-warming, and wholesome reads.

Bocchi the Rock!

Both anime have main leads with crippling social anxiety and have very similar overreactions when encountering anything outside their very small bubble. They slowly but eventually learn to gain more confidence in themselves. There are superficial differences in plot and set-up but notable ones are that Princess Jellyfish is about inner beauty and has romantic elements whilst Bocchi the Rock is about music and making friends CGDCT-style. Jellyfish is also about young adults while Bocchi has highschoolers as the main characters. Thematically though they are very similar and both have visually creative gags and have well-executed comedic tones

KimiNozu is as close as you can get to a season 2 of White Album 2. Both tackle similar themes and focus heavily on the emotional development on the characters in a dignified and interesting way.

Sora yori mo Tooi Basho

Same studio and director so they have similar vibes. Both have pretenses as simple CGDCT anime but that hides some fairly heavy character drama with episodes allocated to each character's own drama. They are both great coming-of-age dramas with a tangible focus on finding new adventure in the world and within yourself as well as putting an emphasis on the value of friendship and doing things together. Hanayamata actually has the better animation and direction of the two whilst Sora Yori has the tighter, more relatable story that reaches the heart.

Ousama Game The Animation

These two anime are hilarious in how incompetent they are in terms of writing, direction, characters, animation etc. etc. There is literally no logic or common sense used by the characters throughout the show and they both end up being a hot mess of poor character motivations, pacing, and crappy "horror". These two are easily the best "So bad it's good" anime out there and the ultimate entertainment for just switching off your mind for 12 episodes and enjoying the ride.

Hitohira is almost exactly a prototype Hibike to the point that it's scary. MCs are similar in that they are fairly shy people who are coerced into a club activity (Wind music club for Hibike! and Drama club for Hitohira) and grow to appreciate their respective clubs and the things that come with it throughout the course of the series. Both are primarily highschool dramas and excel at character drama. The dynamics between the characters are similar especially between the MCs and their senpai.

Both are anime with themes of dealing with your inner turmoil. Main characters have different, but similar problems (one has social anxiety, the other has target panic) that are well-explored and of consequence to their respective stories. Both mains learn to rely on others and form a tight relationship and friendship with others through some kind of activity (archery and fishing). There's also a strong parallel in the personalities of both anime's main cast. Both anime are are very feel-good and are excellent in building up emotional highs.

Both are gorgeous looking coming-of-age SoL stories. Both have a surprising amount of drama underneath the cutesy style and the characters go through a lot of great self-reflection and development throughout the course of their respective series. There is a strong similarity thematically in that the main characters of both shows want to strongly improve themselves (and what it means to shine brightly) in their endeavors and this pushes their shows forward.
