Though both are vastly different in genre and plots, the two are very similar in terms of presentation. For those who fell for the artistic usage of patterns in Gankutsuou as I did, then Kuuchuu Buranko might be for you. KB is a mish-mash of medias, combining colorful, ornate patterns with live media. Like Gankutsuou, it is was truly makes this eleven episode series unique. Also, as stated before, despite the different genres and telling of stories, the two have compelling tales, and is certainly worth a watch for something different than the norm of today's ecchi and otherwise.

Horrendous gore, bone-chilling visuals, and a creepily-cute girl to tie it all together in a nice intestine bow. Both Ibitsu and Tokyo Akazukin pride themselves as every drawing is detailed with ornate squiggles and jointed angles in all of their disembowelment moments and twisted limbs. The gore is prime in both mangas and for a horror genre, that is admirable. Their stories too are quite compelling, but fair warning, Tokyo Akazukin is VERY racy and a great amount of lolicon. That would definitely turn others away. For those with the stomachs and open-mindedness, give TA a try if Ibitsu charmed your bleeding, beating heart.

Both lead males form relationships with a girl who has a magical jewel/pendent sought after by several people. This single artifact (which also holds a water theme) is considered invaluable to the baddies of each show. Love is a slight factor between the two protagonists, though in NaTHaT the romance is very, very subtle. Other relations (testing loyalty, keeping friendships, earning trust, regret, etcetera) are much more prominent in the show and the wide cast lets you meet a surprisingly complex handful of characters.

Smut abounds as there is at least one love-making scene every chapter between both of these manga. Due to this, sex rules the average story lines between them. If you're looking for two girls kissing, flirting, and the like every single time you turn a page, this yuri manga is likely for you.

Despite the gaudy outfits provided for the main heroines when they use their special powers, both Uta-Kata and Sailor Moon take a step down deeper into the more hidden realms of their gifts (or curses) side effects. Both Usagi of SM and Ichika of Uta-Kata are plagued by the darker side of their powers and end up being the focal point of the world either being saved or destroyed.

Both take a step into psychological twists in relation to the supernatural. However, unlike Ghost Hound, Tactics is far more light-hearted. Though this series have a slight creep factor from time to time, it once again does not touch GH. However, there are a far number of likenesses (boy who sees things, ghostly entities, etcetera) for there to be a slight parallel drawn between the two.
