All I can really think of An Inquiry Concerning A Mechanistic Worldview of the Pituitary Gland is ???????????????????????????????
I'm 100% sure the only thing that made me read this oneshot was the synopsis. The synopsis sounds very intriguing, like it might be a good read, doesn't it? Do not be fooled. This piece made 0 sense as there was literally no real "plot" to follow and I say that because it didn't make any sense it being all over the place. There was not even a shred of enjoyment while reading this either, only an uneasy feeling sat in the pit of my stomach as I
...
saw thousands of fetuses being crushed in what looked like a compactor they use in garbage trucks (-_-) And if that alone makes you want to puke, you probably shouldn't read this.
I am very, very disappointed with An Inquiry Concerning Something Something Gland, though, because how can one possibly fit SUCH a plot like this into less than 16 pages? Obviously Shintaro Kago can LOL but what I'm trying to say is that if this were much longer, contained character development, a backstory, all the elements to a great storyline, this would have been absolutely epic!!! But sigh..this is Kago we're dealing with and his manga, although falling in the category of extremely bizarre and not sure of what you've quite read, what do we expect???
Overall, I do not recommend this manga unless you're into just looking at some pretty grotesque imagery for the fun of it then by all means, this is yours but other than that, don't waste your time.

All I can really say about this anime is that it is short (literally very short) and extremely sweet!!!! The opening is really adorable - I especially enjoyed Aiura chibi's, Ayuko falling (lol), and Kanaka running to hug the crab gaaahhhhh so cute...Just based on that, why not watch Aiura solely for the op? LOL..but anyway, the humor they could pack into 4 minute episodes was surprising! I found myself laughing not just once during a single episode, but several times. The homeroom teacher, Yamashita-Sensei, was probably the funniest in my opinion with Kanaka coming second. Saki's mundane personality and humor balanced out the entire

anime because if it were all too cute, we could have died from moe-overload. Then there's Ayuko somewhere between it all, just being so gosh darn adorable. Come the last episode, I was strangely sad it was over because it felt TOO short and it really is a very enjoyable anime! I mean, each ep = 4 minutes. op = 1. ed = 1, so really we only get like 2 minutes of plot yet somehow it completely worked???? It only takes about an hour to watch, no more than that; so if you're ever bored, looking for some time to kill and don't feel like committing to some complicated, 45-minute episodes or you're just looking for something cute to cheer you up, Aiura is your answer!

Ahhh...another classic by Junji Ito himself. I've been waiting to read Jigokusei Remina when I was in a definite mood for some good gore/horror, and Junji can always satisfy my appetite for that. The story leans a lot toward syfy though, with flying cars, cell phone watches and such, which I've never been into that genre, but it being a piece by Junji Ito, I knew he would combine his usual grotesque style and syfy-ish feel into one perfectly.
!!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!!!!! I'M SORRY BUT I FELT THE NEED TO SAY A FEW THINGS...
I read a few discussions at the end and
...
was glad to realize I wasn't the only one who felt the same way about Remina the girl and Remina the planet - like there was a deep connection between the two and Planet Remina was either helping or saving her at times when she needed it. For example, the mob tied Remina to a crucifix and was just about to kill her when missiles were launched at Planet Remina and something backfired to cause hundreds of explosions only to upset Planet Remina to create an earthquake. like Remina was there the whole time, tied to the crucifix and still alive??? You can't tell me there was no connection between the two!! There were a few more scenes like that in the story so I think this was a sneaky move on Junji's part making us identify the correlation between Oguro Remina and Planet Remina without having to say it.
"Army of One" oneshot at the end was perfect. It tied into Jigokusei Remina's theme extremely well. I actually read it a long time ago not realizing it was a chapter in Remina until now and thought all this time that Natsuko was behind all the murders, (lol ya I know...) but after reading people's comments I think it was a sick, never-ending cycle of mass hysteria. How could one 20-something year-old-girl do all of that in one night without going unnoticed? And then the song. It was some hypnosis tool used to influence people to kill.
Ah well anyway, I definitely recommend Jigokusei Remina to anyone definitely into gore meets syfy! And the oneshot at the end has always been my favorite, so look forward to that, too!

I have NEVER read or seen a manga like this. You can comprehend the beginning pretty well but as you move along, in my opinion, it's a very bizarre story of cause and effect. By page 13, we see an extremely complex happening all at once thus the cause and effect begins. Then after that I honestly have no idea what starts happening lmao. But I continued because it's only 16 pages long and the art itself kept me going. It is outstanding. The 3D concept is out of this world. I have never seen a manga artist like Shintaro Kago take manga to the
...
next level like he does. So that's why it really disappoints/maddens me to see people rate this manga, including his other works, so low because "there's nothing really to it," but really there is SOOOOOOOOO much to this manga; that is why I stress to future readers you MUST approach Kasutoro Shiki with a completely open and different mind. Just because there is no obvious plot line, can't we appreciate a manga solely for it's art if it's done just as perfectly as Kasutoro Shiki's was????

I'lll just get to the point here: it wasn't very good. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I did NOT understand any of it???? Like firebird357 says, the plot for the main characters, Hanako and Ryoji, were rushed in WAY too fast but at the same time I understand why the auther did this. It's just like a movie; when the plot for the main character(s) isn't directly shown or said, we instead get flashbacks with bits and pieces of what happened until everything comes together and we understand why the main character(s) are the way they are. But even then, I don't
...
understand why or why the author wrote it this way. I DO NOT want to spoil the ending but I'm guessing there was a twist in there, which threw me off and made me even more irritated with this manga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Overall, the characters leaned toward pretty good, but because of the plot, sadly, it ruined good characters. I thought the art was absolutely flawless, capturing every emotion the characters felt, so I definitely gave the art rating a 10/10. Giving an overall rating for this manga was very hard for me because the characters were good, the art was outstanding, but the story was so lacking and disappointing???? So I almost dropped it after chapter 2, but decided not to in hopes of it getting better, which it never did in my opinion. Oh! I almost forgot one more thing...the what were supposed "exciting" and "suspenseful" scenes never came. I never felt neither of those emotions nor the feeling you get in your stomach when reading horror manga and you can't click the next button fast enough. I read there will be an Anorexia: Shikabane Hanako wa Kyoshokushou 010?? And to be honest with you, I'll probably read that because knowing me, I have to finish reading something no matter how awful it is. Maybe we will get more insight to everything? More clarity? Ugh...hopefully...So all in all, don't waste your time on this manga...Or do to find out for yourself? I wish a chapter 10 would be released so I can have some closure. At least.
