Both feature gorgeous female leads who are socially generally viewed as very unapproachable, and get a close bond with a supportive guy who likes flowers and who loves them.

Mikansei demo Koi ga Ii
add

Both feature shy but very pretty female leads who have difficulty in social circumstances and are generally viewed as difficult to approach. Their shyness is in part due to how pretty they are, making others worried about approaching them, and they become more isolated from others as they grow up. However, in Mikansei demo Koi ga Ii, the shyness is portrayed much better. The female lead in Mikansei demo Koi ga Ii is actually a shy person, who is awkward but slowly opens up to people she is close to, and very reserved and has difficulty to talking people she doesn't know well. In Hibi Chouchou, the female lead isn't really shy, she's much more so quiet and has difficulty communicating anything to anyone, even to those she's close to. In the latter, it's much moreso a mix of being quiet and a much stronger form of a social barrier: social anxiety.

Shimanami Tasogare

Cat Street has non of the themes stemming from queer identity, but it's very similar in a lot of respects: it focuses on a high school student who really doesn't know where they belong. One finds comfort in a lounge by a mysterious person called Anonymous frequented by many different queer identities, along with adults and elders who are in many ways parental figures. In Cat Street, the mysterious head of the school provides a place for lost teenagers, so-called stray cats, to find a place to find themselves. And as the main characters graduate from high school, they take over the school to guide the next generation of "stray cats".

Nana
add

Both feature complex relationships rather than the more simplistic love stories common to anime. There's some deeply traumatic themes later in both stories. While Paradise Kiss focuses on fashion and breaking into modelling/fashion design, Nana is music-oriented. There's also themes of queerness in both (much more overt in Paradise Kiss, and mostly subtextual in Nana). Finally, although the character models for some characters are similar, their actual personalities are very different. Caroline and Nana Osaki, George and Ren, Arashi and Nobu: although these characters might look similar to each other, their personalities are vastly different.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
add

Maid Sama has all of the best elements of Special A, while being a vastly superior show. The plot, character interactions, and character development are quite similar, but in every respect, Maid Sama is clearly superior. Usui and Kei excel at everything without effort, defying the laws of physics. While Usui's excellence is constantly subverted, Kei's unparalleled skill constantly reflects his superiority to the rest of the cast. Usui's attempt to save a damsel in distress by climbing a building and kicking down the window is hilariously undone when she tears apart the handcuffs restraining her and subjugates her captors. Usui jumps off the roof of their school, practically without a scratch, so Misaki's classmates don't see a picture of her working as a maid. His luxurious lifestyle when Misaki tails him after school is a show he puts on only since he knows Misaki is following him. Special A knows it's ridiculous, but still takes itself seriously.

Hotarubi no Mori e

Although only one of the 4 chapters of Hotarubi no Mori e involves yokai, there's a very similar feel in that one chapter and the bittersweet interactions between humans and yokai, including romance, the ephemeral nature of human existence, miscommunication and hostility between them, and more. Both stories are excellent, a testament to the author's skill as a writer.
