Easy, if you like a story where the autor loves to destroy the protagonist and each character one and every time like an endless loop, then you'll enjoy this series.

The whole story doesn't have a protagonist, the one who gets treated like a true one is a secondary character, the main character is constantly hated by the author.

I really don't understand how this show has such great score in MAL. The plot is pretty simple and cliche, the story goes in a loop of a constant hope-desilusion and enjoy-destroy it's plot and characters. You can enjoy a chapter and then the next one something totally ... random (more like plot armor rather than random) happens and the plot rewinds.

There's almost none character development, even if the characters becomes "stronger" in each chapter, the author like to ruin that development with a nonsense "situation" to wrap the plot armor and allow the show to have more misery and suffering.

Really, don't waste your time in this, even if you like baseball, go watch another sport anime instead of this garbage.

TL;DR: Do not watch it unless you're into suffering drama with a huge lot of plot armor, this show throws every build up and character development to the trash. And the animation does not help neither.

If you saw the movie, it was an indicator of how miserable the plot armor is in this story, which throw every intent character development to the trash.

A typical dynamic with sport anime is to be a development about trying to give up the best, crash with a huge wall and then continue development to the victory or somewhat satisfactory ending.
But this series does not take the second part of ... this typical plot.

Is full of plot armor, it tries to sell you a nice story of talent and leveling up the femenine soccer, but if fails as the show constantly making up characters, scenes and situations to stop the talent, and in the end of each arc you feel like everything was for nothing and everything was throwed without any sense.

This show plot turns does not makes any sense, the plot keeps coming with things only for convenience and making not only the main character but everyone feel the worst.

Please save yourself time and do not whatch it. There's a awful lot of better sport anime.
It's a shame they wasted this opportunity to make a good show about femenine sport.
