OP-Yume no Shima Shinen Kouen
ED-Shiroi Oka - Maromi no Theme
Story-10/10-The whole series keeps the tense atmosphere.. While there is a lot of weird events.. everything is comprehensible.. The series gets very complicated.. but everything is able to be clearly understood.. I was always amazed and how everything happend.. and still made PERFECT sense... The story progress in sections.. the first couple episodes is about the victims.. and then we build on each incident as the detectives study more and more about each case.. then the storyline ignores them and jumps to other areas where the same "things" are happening.. and
...
finally the story goes into the future.. and wraps everything up.. A lot of the times you are laughing.. when you know you shouldn't be.. you know the situation isn't suppose to be funny... but it is anyways..
Animation-8/10-They did a really good job at creating the tone of the series.. While it is horror.. its nothing too shocking.. and they do add a lot of "not scary" details... There is not a lot of focus on background OR characters.. its just the way everything is placed.. or what perspective we are watching from.. They have a lot of different art styles the series goes through to show the different mentality each person has.. which helps a lot for character development... The anime is creepy.. and yet "not creepy" at times.. and they are very tightly intertwined so people always feel weird since they are in a strange setting.. but it quickly changes.. very unsettling.. They also do a lot of scenes where they set up an event.. and have you imagine the ending.. like you see a person raising the bat.. and they swing.. and your brain connects the ending..
Music-9/10-The OP is just freaky.. the way the music plays its really cheery.. and when you see everyone smiling.. you start feeling a little dizzy.. for the smiles seem so fake.. so unrealistic.. its just feels weird.. which is perfect for the series.. the ED is great too.. a very Slow.. and mournful melody.. it creeps you out.. cause its like everything is dead... The soundtrack is awesome.. for they build up suspense quickly.. and then drops everything.. a very nice support of the horror part of the series..
Characters-10/10-Wow.. the characters are the sufferings of the people personified.. You have a girl who is struggling to create the next "animation trend", you have a humble woman with a wild and dark personalitysplit personality.. you have the corrupted cop trying to do his best for his family... and you have the popular kid who loses everything when he is framed as being the attacker... An episode is devoted to each of those characters as we learn about what they are going through and what results from them... You also have the two detectives who are trying to solve the case.. you have the rash and unrestrained veteran and the calm and gentler newbie.. You then go on a hop and get a totally new cast that are only shown for one episode that help build up the storyline and the mystery...
Value-5/5-This story is a very good example of how a horror/mystery series should be like.. the music and animation help out the story to give the audience a very good feel of horror and mystery...
Enjoyment-5/5After each episode i was just like wow... I can totally see why this is horror/mystery.. and i always waited anxiously for the next scene to unfold.. while trying to guess what is going to happen.. This is a great series to kill time... or to just start on thinking about stuff.. This series hints at a lot of weird stuff.. but never really crosses the line physically...which makes it really fun to watch..

Byousoku 5 Centimeter
Genre:Romance,Drama
Length: 62 minutes
Story/Character-10/10-Makoto Shinkai has already been known by his masterpieces, The Place Promised in Our Early Days and The Voices of a Distant Star, as an author of fantastic and heart-wrenching stories. So it was not surprising when fans when the trailers of this movie created an enormous hype throughout the anime community. Did this movie disappoint? Lets just put it this way. After watching HALF of the first arc, I was already sucked into the movie. Sucked in as in... I was so drawn INTO the movie, I felt EVERYTHING the main character felt. I cried(well almost) every teardrop that fell
...
from his eyes as he wrote his love letter. I was crushed by the tension he felt when he was about to meet Akari after so long. I overwhelmed with his frustration every time the train was delayed. I was ecstatic when he finally GOT to meet Akari. I basically became Tohno. And that.... was just the FIRST arc of this movie. This movie brilliantly delivered the story in three distinct and solid movements. Each giving the same story but with a perspective entirely different from the other. By doing this, the movie was able to have the audience feel everything about the movie. By having only three main characters, and then having three arcs to immerse deeply into each of them, I was able to get a complete feeling to all the characters, which only made the story so much more enjoyable and in a way I lived through the characters. The story became MY story.
Animation-10/10-Well, it was expected. The scenes were still as sharp and clear as his previous movies. The backgrounds ever so lovely. Every scene was a standalone master portrait. This movie took on a very symbolic approach as the scenes have an enormous impact on the atmosphere. Some moments are so filled with emotion that it literally just takes your breath away. This is a category in which NO ONE can dispute that this movie deserves a 10/10.
Music-8/10-The soothing orchestral soundtrack of this movie complements the stunning animation and story perfectly. Even there are not any quick or intense songs in this movie, the number of tranquil songs that sets up the scenes are really pleasing to hear. The seiyuus are also spot on, each of them really able to act their part in the movie. They did a really great job bringing out the most in the characters with their passion.
Value/Enjoyment-10/10-*SemiSpoiler* After watching this movie I was shocked. Never before in my life had I ever been so upset after an anime ending. (Elfen Lied came close). After going so far with the characters the ending totally just stomped my heart to the ground. I ranted and raved about the ending to my friends. They did the same. However, even though we were all so distressed by the ending. We loved it. We all hated the ending so much, but we ALL agreed that it was the BEST and ONLY way to end the movie. We LOATHED the ending, but we RESPECTED it at the same time. The movie took all our feelings and emotions and had its way with them. After a while after the aftershock of the movie, you will feel like you have just felt everything possible to feel in those 60 minutes from watching the movie. And even though the ending hurts so much, you will agree that this movie was awesome.
Rewatch? At first right after watching the movie, you would either, watch it again right after, hoping to catch anything you might have missed. And then watch it again and again just because the movie was so moving... or not want to ever watch it again, for you wouldn't want to experience such a staggering rush of emotion. But then soon, you will want to watch it again, hoping that you the ending won't be so bad after watching it again. And you will do it again and again... But each time its the same, as the movie STILL impacts you as strongly as the first time watching it. I loved this movie. Everyone else I have ever talked to also loved this movie. Even if you hate dramatic movies (which I do) you will STILL love this movie. Watch it. Now.

Great Teacher Onizuka
Genres, Comedy, Drama, Ecchi, School
Episodes-43
OP-Driver's High,Hitori No Yoru
ED-Last Piece,Shizuku, Cherished Memories, Driver's High
Story-10/10-There is so much that happens, and with a whole class the adventure is nonstop. There are a whole bunch of side stories that gives information on the different cliches in a classroom, then at the end the story finishes with a great climax. While the mood is usually funny, there are some sad and lots of suprising moments that make the series very enjoyable. The series has lots of those what will happen next moments that just really make the story very interesting.
Sound-8/10-The OPs/EDs are just great I loved every single
...
one of them. The music feeds the atmosphere of the series perfectly, and with 2 soundtracks there is plently of music to go around. The seiyuus fit the characters pretty well most of the time.
Character-10/10-With a whole classroom of students almost every type of personality is shown, and presented in a very humorous way. Onizuka's personality is really unique, he acts stupid most of the time but there are times when his seriousness really makes him seem cool. He is always very unpredictable and always amazing the viewer and shocking his students.
Animation-6/10-This series is pretty old, about 3-4 years old. The art and animation really shows the age, but since this is basically a comedy series, it doesn't hurt the series that much.
Value/Enjoyment-10/10-I LOVED this series.. i was addicted to the manga about two years ago.. and finally watched the series. This is one of those anime that you MUST have!! I was laughing through every episode! I read the manga first about 2 years ago.. but I still laughed at every funny scene despite knowing what was going to happen.

OP-Forever
ED-Yakusoku
Story-7/10-Well.. I guess.. the girl turning into a weapon.. is not the most original idea.. (Saikano) but atleast its the girl AND the guy fighting together.. Story is pretty good i guess.. in the end of most episodes.. you feel like they accomplished something.. while they are building up character most of the time.. But you really (its so obvious) see the relationship between Ren and Coud grow.. Coud stops being a jerk really quickly..and that was pretty cool.. unlike other series.. where it takes like 20 episodes.. The ending really sucked, if it was the first time you have watched
...
an anime.. then the ending might be really good, but for me it was wayy to Cliche...
Character-8/10-You really see the characters grow up.. you can tell that the main part of this series is the relationship between Ren and Coud... and they do a really good job.. the other characters are there to compare and contrast relationship.. There a decent amount of main characters.. 5.. and they have their distinct personailties.. They meet a lot of people who are there just to make the series more interesting..
Music-8/10-The OP is pretty good, its by Savage Gardens and they are great.. The ED.. was slow.. but eh.. didn't really like it.. they stuck to the usual.. fast OP.. slow ED.. The soundtrack is by Yuki Kajuira.. so full points for the soundtrack part.. The soundtrack.. was pretty good.. decent.. compared to Yuki's other OSTs..
Animation-6/10-Nothing really impressive.. the fight scenes are okay.. but they replay the part when Ren becomes a weapon.. so points got docked there.. Background.. character drawings.. are all.. okay..
Value-3/5-Its a nice adventure series, with good character development.
Enjoyment-4/5-I really like this series.. its just fun to watch.. and it makes me feel "good inside" whenever they accomplish something.. they usually finish minor problems in an episode or two.. so it feels pretty fast paced.. The ending felt a little weird and too predictable, to me, the ending killed the series.

OP-Sakura saku mirai koiyume, Sonzai
ED-Mirai he no Melody, Utamaru Ekaki Uta, Sonzai, Sakura saku mirai koiyume
On the island where the Sakura are full bloom all year round, the wishes of the people are granted. Asakura lives with his younger sister, Nemu, where they are not blood related. One day a childhood friend, Sakura moves back and immediately starts to get together with Asakura, however his lies with his sister...
Story-6/10-The story seems like any other romance/drama series.. except with the twist of magic, which has minor influence on the overall story. There are a lot of bizzare things that are made to
...
seem "normal". There are three phases in the storyline, the beginning is all introductions, a happier time, then comes the mysterious phase, where the relationship between Asakura and everyone else is shown, and then the last phase where the situations are a lot more tense and serious. I liked the beginning and middle of this series... the ending was a little too weird and stiff..and too focused on three people..The unique thing about the series is that in the last couple of minutes in some of the episode there will be a focus on one character just walking around.
Characters-6/10-There are about two main male characters.. with the rest being girls.. and more than half of them develope a secret crush on Asakura sometime during the series. The good thing is that, their feelings are more covert, so its not exactly a harem series.. Its pretty obvious that the main conflicts are between Nemu and Asakura.. There is character development in the minor characters.. but not much in the main characters which is okay, for the main characters help develop everyone else. What is really interesting is how... *Spoiler*Some characters actually actually "leave" the series towards the end. The relationship between Nemu and Asakura is a bit weird, in that their actions seem too unnatural.
Music-6/10-The OP/ED are both average. The soundtrack is composed of lots of slow/depressing songs as well as some "happier" ones, which really reflect the wide range of emotions the series goes through. The seiyuus are all pretty good.
Animation-7/10-There some really nice day/night scenery shots during the endings of each episode as they focus on one specific character strolling around or whatever. The art is pretty good, with average animation backing it up.
Value/Enjoyment-6/10This is a pretty average romance/drama series, with all the cliches... I liked the series in the beginning as everything seemed atleast normal, then the second half came along and everything went all dark, depressing and just weird.

OP-Byakuya ~ True Light
ED-Yasashii gogo,Hajimari no hi, Caged Bird,Michishirube
Story-8/10-For most of the episodes othe series is really chill, after introducing the characters, most of the episodes after the first few are like fillers, but are fun to watch. The last couple of episodes seemed like a crash. The series became pretty serious, with the whole mood of the series totally changed. However, because of the ending it does feel like the series actually went somewhere in the end.
Animation-8/10-I really like the character designs, for everyone looks really good. The scenes look fine, with the CG art looking okay and not overly blocky
...
or weird, they could of done without it though. The animation is average, but they did really well on the CG animation, which was not very blocky or unnatural.
Sound-6/10-The OP/ED and sountrack are average. Seiyuus are pretty good.
Characters-7/10-The characters are pretty likeable, there are no really annoying characters, even though some of them do annoying stuff. While there is character development, it isn't done that smoothly, their personalities just seem to shift all of a sudden. Its not that bad since you short of expect some things, but when it happens you are sort of suprised since it seems too early.
Value/Enjoyment-7/10-I really liked the coolness of this series. There is always action and intensity in the episodes, while there is always comedy to back everything up. There was a lot of times when the series the situations would of been really cliche or predictable, but because the comedy parts really make all those parts acceptable. This series is a good candidate to watch for some action, comedy, and light romance.

OP-Hikari
ED-Namidaboshi
Story-6/10-The story maintains a freestyle mood, where there are a lot of miniture conflicts that don't seem to have anything to do with each other. The series seem to really like to jump around with plots, which does keep the series "fast paced", but it also makes the storyline seem annoyingly choppy. The series was intended for 50 episodes, but was cut short at 23, which is really odd considering how series are usually 26. There is a noticeable jump in the series where its obvious that there could of dragged on.
Music-8/10-The OP is pretty good, the happyish ED really gives away the fact
...
that the series is always gonna have happy ending. The soundtrack is very similar to Getbackers, and is almost as good.
Animation-6/10-The fight scenes are okay, but sometimes everything seems like the artist was high, for the colors of the scenes would just be so random. The ART is average, with some average to below average animation, those lame freeze frames.
Character-7/10-Its like a lot getbackers with the fact that the "main" characters are two guys who have different special techniques or abilities, that are trying to stop crime, while trying to earn money. The series introduces a lot of characters and just like getbackers they often meet each other. There is character development, but it usually seems to rushed or calculated.
Enjoyment/Value-7/10-This series is pretty cool, but doesn't seem extremely special or great. You can build up a lot of excitement through some arcs, but the excitement just dies right after every arc.

OP-Hit in the USA
ED-My World Down, Moon on the Water, Slip Out
Caution: This anime does contain some adult language.
Story-7/10-Really well done... While there seems to be a semi-slowness in it.. the story is still very interesting..You start by meeting Tanaka.. with his boring life.. and then you get to meet Ryuusuke.. and his life changes so rapidly.. I liked how they introduced so many individual problems.. and then solved every single one of them in a way that makes you feel good.. or that justice was served.. There is always an underlying plot.. from forming a band.. to getting fame.. the ending
...
is so unexepected.. but great!
Music-8/10-Well.. this is a series about music... The OP is really catchy and pretty good.. The 3 EDs are just great.. with the first one being normal.. and the other 2 are actual songs that they sing in the series.. both are one of my favorite songs.. the soundtrack is like an album.. with most of the songs being actual songs.. with lyrics.. the band Beck.. if they were real.. would be a band that i would actually enjoy listening to..
Characters-7/10-They liked flooded this series with character development... with the 5 main members of the band.. plus a whole bunch of other people.. the great thing is that you get to see "seemingly insignificant" people over and over.. and you really notice the change in them each time.. There are also no annoying characters.. and you are seemingly surrounded by people of different areas.. from the pool.. to school.. to the concerts.. you get a real good idea and feeling of the whole area... O yea.. when the characters talk english.. its so obviously dubbed.. its sometimes okay.. but most of the time its REALLY annoying--.. so thats where the minus came from..
Animation-6/10-The art is similar to Futakoi alternative. Art is okay, though sometimes things look pretty nice, though there is always a dull look to everything. There are lots of times when it seems water colors were used to make the scenes. Animation is average.
Value-4/5-This series is obviously valuable for being one of the rare series about music.. and they do a really good job.. the high points are for music, storyline, and the uniqueness of the series..
Enjoyment-4/5-I finished this series in 3 days.. watching 10 episodes in the first day..This series was really fun because of how the characters change..and how the problems are solved..and there are quite a few problems..plus I really like listening to the songs..I also was able to actually "enjoy" songs i would never of thought of listening to.. like really slow songs.. Moon On the Water..

OP-Soramimi Cake
ED-Strawberry Heaven
Story-9/10-This really has a sense of progression of how the people went through high school.. In the first half of the series.. They go through what they did the first year of high school. THen they go through another year.. and another year.. and show us how the people change as they are in the same situation.. but one year older... They go all the way through high school..
...
Music-4/10-I think this is the worst I have ever given for music.. THe OP/ED are both pretty bad.. they just.. eh.. ionno.. bad.. the soundtrack.. has like nothing.. however the music does fit the mood../situations.. but there is no point in just listening to the music without seeing something at the same time..
Characters-9/10--The characters are the best part about the series.. since everyone is different you get a whole bunch of unique people forming one group.. so there are a lot of "humourous" conflicts.. There isn't exactly character development.. but you get to know the people really well..
Animation-5/10-There is nothing spectacular here.. they use a lot of SLOW scenes.. like literal pauses.. but its for comic effect.. especially to emphasis.. the slowness of Osaka..The drawings are pretty simple.. no real detail anywhere.. nothing to really admire..
Value-5/5-I think this really coupld pass off as a classic.. This set like the standard for all school comedies.. ie school rumble.. gokujou setokai.. There is a lot of rewatch value too.. since i really felt like i accomplished something after watching the whole series..
Enjoyment-5/5-I really had fun watching the whole series.. There were just a couple of really.. really random episodes.. but that just helped explain the character more.. This show is hilarious.. and probably could be watched out of sequence.. or individually.. its practically straight up comedy.. and it does a terrific job with no great visual or audio help.. This series has LOTS of rewatch value!

Elfen Lied
Genres, Drama, Ecchi, Horror, SciFi, Super Power
Episodes:13+1 special episode(episode 10.5)
OP-Lilium
ED-Be Your Girl
WARNING: there is a lot of graphic, intense violence as well as a lot of nudity. Not for children.
...
Story-9/10-The story.. as the story progresses you really get to know the past of Kouta, Lucy/Nyuu, and Yuka... You start to see how their past all relate somehow and why they act the way they do in the present. There is a very nice romance/drama presented through out the series, backed up with occasional very brief moments of comedy and just enjoyment of the current setting/atmosphere... There is even a bonus episode 10.5 that is exactly half comedy and half drama. The story is a rollercoaster, taking you through moments filled with satisfaction and happiness, only to plunge you into dispair and grief, only to bring you back up for a few moments of relief and hope and then sinks you down again.
Sound-8/10-The music is one that is really hard to understand, at first the OP might seem a little too weird and depressing, and the ED a little to happy and unfit for the series.. in the end both really grows on you. The slow and mournful like OP introduces us very nicely and sets the mood for the horrible situations that Lucy had to endure, it really shows the pain and agony that she goes through. The ED is a very nice happyish song that just seems to happy for the series. but if you were to listen to the lyrics you would understand that the song is what Nyuu/Lucy's heart is crying out.... The ED ends each episode in a way as if to try to comfort the audience from the current situation, and to give a little hope to what the characters are going through. The soundtrack itself is very mixed, the majority of the songs being slow nervewreaking moments, and a couple pleasant relaxing songs.. each song is able to trigger a specific scene or two that was very memorable...
Characters-9/10-Each character, Kouta, Lucy/Nyuu, and Yuka are really well developed. We learn about the past of the three characters individually at first, and then at one point or another Lucy/Nyuu and Yuka's paths crosses Kouta, which brings the three together in a way at that, now once again they are reunited, except that Yuka never really knew what happend, and Kouta and Lucy/Nyuu don't remember. As the story progresses we learn more about their pasts, and their significance and then in the end everything is brought together for a fantastic reunion. Kouta who has amnesia doesn't remember the past because of a tragic incident, while Lucy has the split personality Nyuu. Lucy who has gone through the world and endured a lot of pain understands how cruel the world can be and Nyuu is the childlike side of Lucy, the carefree girl who is pure and free of violence and sin. The two sides contrast each other really nicely. Kouta loses his memory from one significant tragedy, while Lucy experienced all the discomfort and hate of life great or small before developing a slit personality. While Kouta's brian shuts off entirely after the tragedy, Lucy struggled to live and pursist, she eventually gave in, but not completely for she was able to maintain another personality, Nyuu. The other characters are also developed nicely as we learn about their pasts which then helps explain their supporting parts.
Animation-8/10-The way everything is shown is to die for....literally... While there seems to be a lot of violence and gore, it is there to make a point. Instead of subtly making the audience infer what Lucy/Nyuu is doing like most series, they blatantly present everything. Because of that we get a really good feeling of her anger and wrath, which then relates really well to her past as it is slowly uncovered and revealed. Another point is the ecchiness, again it could seem a little excess, but again it is there for a point. To show the innocence of Lucy/Nyuu's split personality. Nyuu with no idea of whats going on, and Lucy who is confident and anger driven, who knows about the darkness in humans... The combination of horror/violence and ecchiness is a really strange combination, but the series brings out the extreme of both to create a strong support for the entire theme and story of the series. The background scenes themselves are very beautiful. From the pretty Sakura trees by the road to the dark scenes of Lucy unleashing her misery. The scenes supports moments of the series very well.
Value/Enjoyment-10/10-I Really liked this anime.. despite watching the first episode.. deleting everything.. and then redownloading it a few months later. after i saw the first two episodes i was hooked and couldn't stop watching.. i liked it soo much I really wish there was a second season. For me, this series blended romance, action, drama, thriller, and comedy together perfectly. Every moment spent watching this series was pure bliss. This series had a perfect combination of music, animation, storyline, and characters, for if anything was missing, this series would not of been able to shine as brightly as it does.
