Another overhyped 'this will save anime' thing that gaijins love to gawk about. This anime had around the same cult hype as attack on titans. It tries to justify fanservice, average writing, and average art altogether as if this was some kind of masterpiece, when in reality it's amatuerly done.
Story 7/10
Another one of those that goes with a bang and ends with dissapointment. In the beginning, its story was very well done and could've taken many directions. It was open minded and very fun to watch at, but as the episodes went by, I could do nothing but see in terror of what this
...
anime became after being hyped so much. They put pointless filler episodes and crappy story arcs which weren't needed for the overall story and enjoyment in Kill La Kill. Its story tries to be unique, but in reality its nothing more than a shadow of Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggen. Story was overall a dull experience with asspulls all around the place with a sad sad ending that was expected. This is another replica of a shonen clone that wasn't executed well. You can make an analogy of this show to a music song that was a 'one hit wonder'.
Art 6/10
Some people say that the art is good, but I really disagree in it. This anime tries to tie in silliness with seriousness, which doesn't blend in well and ultimately fails at it. The first couple episodes had solid art, but after that most of the episodes except the 'important' arcs in the story had mediocre-horrible art as if they didn't know how to distribute the production of an anime. Art just looks childish and it really TRIED to mix it with seriousness, but it failed.
Sound 6/10
The only type of songs that are even close to mentioning are the action packed ones like they put in Fate/Zero(they all sound the same). It's not good, but solid. Nothing to write home about.
Character 5/10
Characters showed the same dissapointments as the story. None of the characters had depth or as they were all simple with little to no explanation for the side characters. The motivation for side characters were quite bad. Also one of the characters are so bad that they could be compared to Jar-Jar Binks by trying to forcing comedy into the viewer. Characters are simple and easy to understand, but none are interesting in general because their motivations, logic, value, etc are all explained in the simplest way possible and the viewers have to 'just' accept it.
Enjoyment 8/10
Even with all the critical views in this average anime, the enjoyment of these series was very high though thanks to starting with the bang. But this shonen anime was quite interesting to watch despite the flaws. It was dead beat entertainment that was actually entertaining.
Overall 6/10
Even with the enjoyment aside....This anime is one with flaws that could've been so easily fixed, but it just had to fit the meta of having over 20 episodes for an 'epic'. This anime is nothing to write about because behind all that hype, this anime is just another shonen-esque anime. This is a shadow of Trigger's past Tengen Toppan Gurren Laggen. Just watch it if you have the time, but if you don't, don't watch it.

There really are a variety of anime around aren't there. This anime was probably the highlight of the winter season compared to Kill La Kill which lost its overall promise easily. Standard hype strategy of start with a bang, end with a dissapointment. But space dandy is different. As much as I despise the Gintama-esque animes such a dandy, I enjoyed Dandy thoroughly as it was the best of the winter 2013-14 season.
Story 5/10
This anime is very experimental and reminded me of the tatami galaxy because every episode seemed like a different 'world line' of the Space Dandy galaxy. Every episode is different and
...
may be unique or just completely flat. I get that each episode had different directors, but the show's execution was done in a way that was boring at times with no merit. Even though that being said, I really loved those 'unique' episodes as they were very well done. But really there is no story other than the fact that it's about 1 human 1 Talking Cat and 1 Robot trying to catch aliens with a ambiguous 'to be continued' sign at the end. The overall episodes are somewhat enjoyable, but nothing to be amazed at except for those few gem episodes.
9/10
Art's really good and reminds me of the old style animation while being somewhat modern at the same time. Animation is top-notch with little to no rough edges.
Music 10/10
The music is outstanding, esp. the ED/OP of the anime.
Character 9/10
Space dandy like Cowboy Bebop is more about the ride rather than the destination. The characters are all likable and even the side characters are thoroughly explained unlike the latter of TV shows. They are all interesting and likable, but the fact that most side characters are thrown away after an episode makes me wonder the question, why even include them. Well just waiting for the next season.
Enjoyment 8/10
I throughly enjoyed this experiemental anime show as it was unique in its own way. There were a few unique episodes which I absolutely loved, but most of space dandy's episodes were either dull or not even worth mentioning. Even though, I didn't like the episodes itself, I loved the characters inside it.
Overall 7/10
Overall it's a fun ride to watch dandy, but I found it very difficult to review because of the fact that every episode was different in its own way whether they are bad or good. I would definately watch this anime at the expense of free time, but it's not a must-watch.

Story 2/10
In terms of story the only thing that'll grip you is the plot of this anime and the surreal situation around it. Giants taken over world? Live in a damn cage? Pretty interesting, but the story itself about a teenager putting so many asspulls and breaking universal laws is interesting enough for me because objectively Kyojin has a very weak story. It's dull and dead beat entertainment. Nothing about it different from anything else other than the typical revenge shonen story. No explanation or anything with asspulls, when it tries to be serious story, but hey it's a shonen. What the hell do
...
you expect?
Art 10/10
Despite the story being completely half assed, the art is gorgeous and unique in its own way with very high production value. It's eye candy.
Sound 7/10
Sometimes the sound just doesn't fit the atmosphere and the OP/EDs are good, but they have nothing to do with the overall plot/story.
Character 1/10
I will say this two times that you can get it. The characters in Shingeki are uncharismatic idiots. The characters in Shingeki are uncharismatic idiots.
Motivation for most of the characters? Haha, no explanation. Development at all? Haha, none. Any depth at all? Haha, none. Dialogue is at least coherent? Haha, none. Likable characters? Haha, none.
The fact that most of the characters lack any depth due to the fact that while introducing a shit ton of characters, they don't explain anything about them either while they just die off. The only character with backstories is the hero and heroine of the show. Not surprising.
Enjoyment 4/10
After figuring out the fact that after the first 4 episodes were just carefully thought out for hype and attention grabs i quickly became disinterested as this show was turning into a shonen mish mash. I did not enjoy this anime at all. I saw potential in the anime, but they just wasted it away by having a weak story and having very weak characters.
Overall 3/10
If you are looking forward to looking at watching paint dry go ahead, but if you aren't don't.

Well this anime might be one of the most pretentious and most overrated animes I have ever seen in MAL. I'm seeing people give around 7-8 in MAL just because it looks 'unique' in a special way in their own.
I'll first talk about the criteria that is centered around MAL before I get to the juicy parts.
This anime was undoubtedly one of the better animes around the season it spawned upon, but lost its promise half way throughout the TV show.
Story 5/10
I don't want to be such a critical guy here, but this anime is really dull in terms of story and deliverance.
...
It shoots out random quotes from Pascal, Nietze, and other philosphers and tries to explain them to the viewer as if creativity was not allowed. There are no hidden metaphors or any room for interpretation in this pretentious story. Most of the quotes they say are random and show no intelligence whatsoever because most of the characters in this anime are uncharismatic mental retards with the crappiest dialouge you will hear in an anime when you get to the raw meat and bones of it. Story revolves around those uncharismatic quote throwing retards. You begin to not care about the story at times because the characters are boring and there are couple asspulls you will begin to see.
Art 8/10
The art is one of the highlights in this anime as they are fluid and well done with some decent character designs that has a striking resemblance to death note. It's has good art thanks to its production value.
Sound 8/10
As a fan of Supercell I am very biased here. But the songs in the anime itself goes well with the atmosphere in general, but none are memorable.
Character 4/10
This anime is supposedly a 'story based' animation, but its characters lack depth and interest. Almost none of the characters actually go through character development and they are forgettable and dull at the same time. Its main villian is supposedly an intelligent person, but in reality he is the shitty shadow of the white haired guy in Death Note(the manga). The side characters are all just there for the sake of have side characters. The only ones with some history and small depth are the hero and the heroine. But the heroine barely changes throughout the anime and puts asspulls like never before.
Enjoyment 7/10
Even though the story and characters were retarded and boring in general I still liked this sorry excuse of a pretentious anime that wasn't created by shaft(get it?). I throughly enjoyed this anime to the brim because it's just dead beat entertainment.
Overall 4/10
Just because this is a 4/10 anime does not mean it's a shitty one. You can throughly enjoy animes like these and have the false idea that this anime is a 'deep' anime if you just watch it for the animation and sound.
Watch it on a rainy day, but if not. Never watch this.

I will try to be as most straight forwards as I can.
Pros -
One of the best animated films in terms of animation
Fluid and Great sound for mood and story
Unusual/Sweet story
Pretty good characters
Good narrative
Cons -
...
Not exactly original. Cliché
No deep plot
Ending might not be satisfying(1/2 satisfied me)
Somewhat erratic
Tried too hard to look like a masterpiece or an epic
A bit random at times
Final Score and Grade in my opinion 87/100; B+
Already a summary and synopsis there.
I like it for its great animation and I disliked it because of the story presented. I also think it tried to be pretentious at times. Story was just above average and not great. Also talked about some things that had nothing to do with the story or develop the characters. Also has music that doesn't fit the mood sometimes. Character development isn't that impressive and tries to be too dramatic at times.
MIGHT BE A SPOILER
Also the heroine talked about how she couldn't walk anymore and you don't know what she's talking about until the end. There are couple things like this which are just ambiguous.

This manga was created from multiple artists and authors. Out of all of the five chapters I have read I have only found 3 to be extremely pleasant and satisfying. I won't tell which, but they are psychological and beautifully created.
IF you love to read short pieces of manga that reflect on emotions or on self-satisfaction.
Other than the 3, the other pieces are average or mediocre and a waste of time to read. I would've given this a 10 if the other two stories weren't there, but we can't.
This manga has intelligence, humour, and beauty!
