There's nothing particularly terrible about this show. It's just a bit boring.
The art and character designs are nice and it has some good animation (albeit alongside some powerpoint-esque moments).
The music is fine though not memorable and a lot of the actors are very good and did their best with a mediocre script.
It's just lacks the tension and excitement needed to be a good sports show and the character and story depth needed to be a good drama. The two sides are also very separate and it felt like a chore to get through most of the episodes.
I'm very surprised that this is an original as
...
it feels more like an adaption of a novel that cut out the wrong parts.
I wouldn't recommend.

This is a pretty generic male idol TV show. It's fine if you enjoy the genre but you can do better.
The main problem that I had with it was that it (mainly) felt like a musical without the songs. It would try, and occasionally succeed, to build up to some kind of emotional peak by creating some sort of small drama via dialogue. This would usually coincide with a performance which one of the various boybands is going to put on. Then when you're expecting someone to express their emotions by producing a nice ditty you're instead given a couple of characters having another brief
...
conversation. If you're lucky you get a song played in the background.
When you are given an actual performance it's forgettable. Any large amount of movement is done in 3D that doesn't look much better than a PS2 cutscene. The still art is fine and I think the character designs are good, but there's nothing impressive.
The characters themselves are fine, if a little cartoonish, they're just given nothing to do. If the show was structured like a generic cute boys show where the characters react to a variety of setpieces (eg one day they go to the beach, one day they have a competition, one day they need to study for exams etc) I think it would be somewhat enjoyable, however every single episode that I can remember is just the characters preparing for a talent show, the result of which has absolutely no consequences. (Technically in-universe there are consequences, but as a viewer you know exactly what is going to happen.) At one point there's a bit of backstory that is much more interesting to me than the main plot, but this is forgotten about quickly.
Despite liking most of the characters I also think that there's way too many. If you halved the cast and gave the remaining ones more time then I think the show would be much improved.
A few of the songs were fun, and the voice actors are good. If you like cheesy Japanese pop songs then you will probably find a couple of tunes that you like. However it would probably be a better use of your time to either just listen to the music separately or watch the voice actor concert.
It's not the worst thing that I've seen and is pretty inoffensive, but I wouldn't bother with this one. If you're into the video game (which doesn't have an English translation at the time of writing), then you might get something more out of it.

This is a fun little show. Nothing special, but not offensively bad either.
The story is a typical 'teenager with magical powers saves the world' tale. It doesn't really do anything new, but it's a good enough base to build off of.
The characters are surprisingly engaging for such a silly light hearted show. The protagonist is fine, a bit bland, but with enough personality to qualify as the main character.
Although none of the supporting characters are amazing, they are all memorable and some slightly subvert expectations, which is always welcome. You can believe that they have lives outside of the story that is being told.
...
The powers that the characters have are also a little bit different and interesting.
The show's style is silly, but distinct and deliberate, and I think that it works. The overall quality seems to be lacking the 'smoothness' that nicer looking shows have, and the character designs are a bit exaggerated and bizarre. However, it all feels right.
Although I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this to anyone, I wouldn't discourage anyone from watching it either.

Is this anime good? No.
Is this anime enjoyable? I think so.
Would I recommend it? Not as a piece of art, but if you wanted something to laugh at with friends (and you were comfortable at watching something fanservice heavy with said friends), yeah, go for it.
A breakdown of the episodes;
Episode 1 - Mediocre sex comedy
Episodes 2 -6 - What?
Episode 7 - Actually pretty funny. I would recommend watching it if you have an immature sense of humour.
Episodes 8-12 - Somehow wraps up the plot and almost manages to make the previous episodes make sense. I'm not sure how.
...
The good;
Genuinely made me laugh at points. The humour is random and immature, but I liked it.
The characters, though mainly terrible people, are mostly fun to watch.
It probably would actually have some rewatch value since there's (kind of) a twist that you (or I at least) don't figure out until near the end.
The tone is cool, it doesn't take itself too seriously.
There's noting particularly wrong with how it looks or sounds.
The bad;
If you're looking for realism, plot or character decision wise, this is not the anime for you.
The female characters are mainly there to take their clothes off.
There is a lot of fanservice. The version I watched had a lot of censorship, but I'm sure you can find uncensored versions somewhere (although I have a feeling that there's one particular scene where the censorship actually makes it more risque).
It has cutaways to random meta scenes. I personally thought that these fit with the tone, but they might annoy you if you're actually invested in the plot.
The least interesting character is the one that you're actually supposed to care about.
In conclusion, it's not good, but I enjoyed it.

I went into this with an open mind. Perhaps the show would rise above its description. No.
The positives;
The opening is kinda fun. Sounds a bit like a track that might have placed 5th at Eurovision in the early 2000s.
It made me laugh. There's a few so-bad-it's-good moments.
The negatives;
...
Where is the soundtrack? There's a bit where a guy is supposed to be playing a violin and they just leave the sound out. Did they think that I wouldn't notice?
For a show that centres around handsome guys, their designs are pretty ugly.
The show is shot from your (the viewer's) perspective. I guess that this could work if the show didn't accuse me of being a lush, too stupid to use binoculars, and a borderline pedophile.
The scenarios are too broad. I feel like they should have focused on only school scenarios, or only university scenarios, or only adult scenarios, but they do all of the above. Surely one person isn't going to like them all.
The scenarios are too specific. How many people want to be sexually assaulted by a horror movie antagonist? I'll tell you, there's just one, and they made this show.
There isn't really any animation to speak of. This wouldn't be too bad if it looked nicer, though.
In the last episode the strange looking boy turns into a sheep. What are you accusing me of?
So in conclusion, don't watch it unless you have an incredibly specific fetish.
(Food stall ouji-san best boy.)

This show is pretty average.
The protagonist is entertaining and can be funny at times, however the rest of the cast is pretty generic. The cast is very pretty-boy centric, and the show in general is obviously aimed at female viewers. However there are a handful of not-terrible female characters also, which is nice.
The setting is a bit unusual for a Japanese cartoon, being set in a (I'm guessing) 19th century English boarding school. It actually seems as though a bit of research was put into the setting too, which is nice. I think that they also tried to give the supernatural things a bit of
...
a history, although they lost me on that one.
One of the things that annoyed me a little was the gag episode that was towards the end of the season. I don't have anything against light hearted episodes in general, but this one just wasn't funny. It also ruined the setting for me, having the students partake in a Japanese-style festival. It would maybe be okay as a DVD extra, but it ruined the flow of the series for me.
The music is average, although I always enjoy it when the voice actors sing the opening and ending themes. I can't really judge the voice acting itself, but it seemed okay.
The style of the show is clean and you can clearly tell characters apart, but there's nothing particularly exciting about the art. The (few) battles in the show are quite choppy, and there's definitely a lot of repeated footage going on, especially in the last few episodes.
Whilst this show is technically bland, I still found it enjoyable enough to watch through and I'll probably remember it for a little while. I wouldn't tell you not to watch it, but I wouldn't put it at the top of your list either.

In my opinion, this anime is bad.
It has a good opening song, and I quite like the main character's design (although I know that there are others who don't). In addition, whilst I can't really say that they're good per se, the male characters' designs are different from the norm.
Its art and music seem fairly average. I watched it in Japanese, which I'm not a native speaker of, so I can't really comment on the voice acting.
Unfortunately, the plot and character development is bad. The story isn't particularly interesting, and the characters are incredibly boring and generic at best. A special mention goes to the
...
main character who could easily be replaced by a stick of celery. She is incredibly passive, barely speaking when spoken to, and has no semblance of a personality.
I usually find reverse harems enjoyable, if not particularly good, but I can't think of a reason to encourage anyone to watch this one.
