Post apocalyptic anime. We have all seen it done countless times, but rarely it gets done in an unique and proper way. Usually it is a generic copy paste plot wise of everything else. This anime blends the likes of Owari No Seraph plot wise with the aesthetics similar to Full Metal Alchemist. For me it hits a sweet spot.
Heavenly Delusion; also known as Tengoku Daimakyou, is set in an apocalyptic setting. The people living in this world live in fear for enemies named "man-eater". Despite the joyful characters it has moments that it gets dark, which gave me goose bumps that I had
...
when I watched Made In Abyss.
Sounds
The music in this anime are straight up bangers and the background sounds are nicely done as well. At times I found myself fully immersed due to the good use of SFX.
Aesthetics
The artstyle and color palette are very fitting for this genre of anime. Especially when it shows some of the post apocalyptic elements. The visuals are extremely nice and pleasing. I am thoroughly satisfied with the art style. The animations are also top notch. The sci-fi elements it has, had me surprised in a good way.
Story
It is a very captivating story. It had me hooked in the first episode with its pretty much unique way of story telling. Within the first couple of episodes you will quickly understand the setting of the world. Kumo desu ga, Nani ka? was an anime that did story telling equally as good as this one in my opinion. The most interesting thing is that a lot anime need you to wait until the season finale before the climax happens or the plot twist drops due to which you suddenly understand everything. This anime boosts confidence by revealing everything as you go. For example I am currently 7 episodes deep and I understand the past, the present, and the future implications.
Characters
All the characters with voice lines have personality. I can not emphasize enough how important this is in story telling. So many times there are side characters that are just there for the sake of feeding the plot with generic robotic lines. The characters in here experience things, have feelings, and make you feel like they do. The main cast obviously is a lot better than the side cast, but the sides and background characters feel like they have gotten a fair share of love as well.
Final verdict
I haven't been able to find a flaw yet in any of the points above. These are the things that matter for me, therefor I rate this at an astonishing 10. It is still possible that the climax can mess everything up, but given the high production quality I highly doubt that such a failure would happen.
If you are curious about watching this anime, make sure to at least give episode 1 and 2 a swing. It gives you a very good idea about the story. A couple more episodes and you will understand the plot and characters, etc.

If I had to describe the god of high school it would be like this...
Imagine that there is a new fine dining restaurant near your place. It has a high reputation and all your friends can only say good things about it.
You enter the restaurant, everything is high class. Gold plates, diamond coated furniture, marble floor. It truly looks and feels divine. The people working there are extremely beautiful. All together it looks fantastic, like a dream.
You walk up to your table and get some marvelous appetizers. This got you hyped for the main course. You don't care about the budget at this point, you
...
just want the best of the best after being teased with the appetizer and the delicious drinks.
It is finally time, the waiter serves your food on a golden plate covered with a bowl. You can feel the searing heat from the distance.
He lifts the bowl and on the golden plate, below the golden bowl you can see a turd.
No matter how fancy it can be, a turd is a turd in the end of the day. Even if it is served on a golden plate. This show was exactly that.
The animations are outstanding as well as the sounds and the voice acting. The story and character development are a hot mess. I can not enjoy shows that have no story unless they are just something to watch and enjoy to forget about it afterwards such as some fighting orientated anime. This however tries to have a story when it hasn't. It introduces random elements that make no sense up until the last episode from which plethora won't even ever get mentioned again. Wasted screen time for what could have been story/character development. If you have a bad story to tell, I'd rather have no story and just epic animations. Some shows do that and they are great at it. This show tried to introduce story elements and they failed badly at it.
You might enjoy this if you just watch it for the animations and nothing else, but I pay more attention to a show than just the visuals.

I value story a lot more than the other factors, hence why the final score is lower than the average with all the other points combined.
Anyway let's get straight to it! A new movie containing some new material of our lovely friend with an addiction for brutally causing a goblin genocide.
In this movie it should be noted that the first 25 minutes are a complete recap of season 1. If you are new to the franchise then you will understand some of the backstory and characters. I would still strongly advise to watch the first season as you will learn a lot more about
...
the main cast and then just skip the first 25 minutes. In case you have watched the first season then it is up to you if you want a recap to remember what happened before this movie took place.
So now to the actual movie. The brutality and gore are all the same and glorious. The attention to detail is not that great in general, but suits the chosen art style perfectly resulting in nice visuals. Nothing is to overwhelming. Paired with the sound effects it can send chills down your spine at the right scenes.
The story is very lacking though. There is new content but it is a very mediocre one. Quite cliche one would say. There is no fancy things and just a new character that has a fair amount of development for the given time she had on screen as well as overall time in the movie. We learn a lot more about goblins though, the way they can adapt and evolve. How quickly they learn and how far from stupid they are. They are simple creatures, but they pick things up rapidly. This movie highlighted that fact in quite a gruesome manner.
Timeline wise, this is straight after season 1. So if we get a season 2 we will know whether this is canon or not and whether the new character will serve a role in the future or not. Or if you have read the manga you might know whether it is canon or not. I haven't so I don't know it.
Overall I did enjoy the movie. It was only a hour of new content and felt very short. I would have loved more content, but I am satisfied. It was good, not great, not bad.
PS: If you are new to this, watch the first episode of season 1 to get a general idea about what kind of show you are about to delve into. It has a lot of gore and painful to watch moments.

Let me start by saying that one of the things that weighted in my grading for this show was the overall refreshment and unique feeling of this show compared to your generic standard shows that are there for 12 episodes of fan service or shows that have continued for far too long.
While I am not a fan of the art style... I must be honest, they pulled off an extremely good job with it! This show contains gore, great visuals funky characters and an extremely interesting plot.
Let's start with the story. Our duo Nikaido and Caiman live in a place called the Hole.
...
In their are all the people without magic. They are pretty much used for those who do posses magic and are used as guinea pigs. As the obviously don't accept this they have a lot of strong people that physically fight and kill against those with magic and vice versa.
The city of magic is... quite an interesting place, it contains demons that are capable of many things, including trades. Most of the demons are friends of the individual called En. He and his party pretty much rule over the magic domain. He is also the enemy of the duo.
Now let me get one thing straight, in this show... everyone is a villain. There is no good. There is only bad and worse. People get murdered left and right. People kill others for some pocket change or just a bad argument or hell it can be a festivity.
This is actually quite good for this show, why? Because every character is lovable and gets his/her own fair time in the show including background story and character development. For example in an anime that puts heroes in the spotlight it would be very weird to like the villains more than the main cast, but in here it's normal if you like the odd characters, because they all are worked out properly. They all have their own unique charm, including the side and potentially background characters.
This show has one of the catchiest openings. I have never skipped it, same thing applies to all the ending variations. There are quite a few and each is not exactly original but very unique. When the opening starts you know that you are in for one hell of a weird adventure and every single episode will keep you entertained.
This show contains very muscular folks, including the women. They are extremely good at combat too! So if you are here for the ecchi slim girl show you are at the wrong place.
Due to its unique charm, funky characters and great sense of humor this show was extremely enjoyable for me. I have not watched as much anime this season as I did in the past, that is because everything is starting to become the same well selling plot, the same kind of animations, the same kind of fights, just a slightly different story.
Dorohedoro was the refreshment I was looking for and the one you perhaps need as well!

--The review contains spoilers--
First of all, this is not season 2, I repeat this is NOT season 2!
This is the second part of season one. This part continues where the first part ended!
This continues where Summer A discovered that Hana died. This makes season 1 overall very complete and part 1 makes a ton more sense with this part added to it.
So now that is out of the way let's get to business.
...
This part completes the story of season 1. After Hana Summer A is having it's first trial. This trial results in overall more harmony for Summer A but a smaller Summer A. Certain team members decide to leave for various reasons.
This season heavily focuses on Summer B as they get 2 new members... little do they know that those 2 members are extremely dangerous. They however turn out to be vital for Summer B's survival as well as for this seasons climax! Summer B is quite carefree and makes a lot of mistakes, the 2 new individuals try to whip them in shape... or do they just want to get rid of them? All in all every character develops quite nicely through this part.
I am honestly very pleased with the character development. All the characters, the likable and less likable ones have major growths and think about what they have done so far. This allows them to see things in a new light. This also sets up the environment mindset wise for season 2 (if we will get any).
The art was pretty mediocre at times. I am not going into much detail other than the ship. It looked great but the animated bits were very blurry, hazey and clunky in my opinion. This also applies to other parts throughout the second part of season 1.
The story was very enjoyable. Since it was all released at once I was not stuck with cliffhangers and could just watch it at my own pace.
Sound effects could be weird at times but were overall okay. Nothing special, nothing lacking either.
This is a must watch if you watched part 1. Without this you have not watched the entire 1st season of 7 Seeds!

If you are into shows that cover alternate dimensions, time travel and pretty much traveling between dimensions then this might just be the one you've been looking for. It gives a lot vibes from Steins Gate, one of my all time favorites and it honestly kept me desiring for more until the final arc.
The final arc is notorious. It is awfully obvious that they simply just ran out of episodes as things will seem and feel very rushed story development wise. The first few episodes of the final arc will definitely blow you away by the new things it will add to the overall
...
plot. The execution is just so poor. It is honestly saddening. And the ending is an even bigger let down.
That aside, everything up until the last arc is simply amazing. If it weren't for the final arc I would've rated this show a lot higher on average. The characters are still quite dull though. Some great characters get randomly killed off, others get introduced and never get any screen time afterwards. Others are just there to make the MC seem like a wise person. The characters themselves barely hold any presence which doesn't make them outstanding or memorable. Plenty of them were just made extremely unintelligent especially in specific situations where many solutions were present. But we need to see a shining MC. I don't like that kind of thing in shows.
I did like the art style it was clean and neat. Not only that some of the animations were great. The twist at the final arc makes it even better animation wise. They definitely had quality and a budget.. just wish they had more episodes for a proper ending...
Sound effects were from good quality, maybe even great. Despite the dull characters the VA's did a good job delivering emotions.
Finally the story. The whole story is actually amazing. I dig time travel and alternate dimensions and this show covers those 2 topics in a very interesting way. Even with the final arc all questions got answered, even if it was in a rushed manner, the story was complete. There certainly were annoying moments and moments that I do have my doubts/concerns about but all in all it was quite enjoyable.
The final arc will be a major let down but the other arcs are so impressive that it still scores an average of 7. If the final arc was of the same quality I would rate it a 9 with only the characters being the thing weighting the overall show down.
Do note that my opinion isn't factual. You can disagree with me and you are free to do so.

One Punch Man is, as the title implies, about a guy that defeats everything and anything with just one punch. Season 1 showed us how crazy it can get and to what lengths it can go as well as who Saitama is as an individual. And this was loved by many many fans all over the world.
Season 2 continued where season 1 stopped. But the focus, however, this time isn't at Saitama and his daily routines. It is rather at what the world looks like outside and around of this ridiculous strong person, because he isn't exactly famous. How do the people and monsters live,
...
act and progress without the knowing Saitama? What goals do they have and what do they fear? Heroes and monsters alike, this season focuses on those points so that we can learn more about monsters and the other heroes. This however didn't appease everyone since some people just watched it for Saitama mindlessly butchering hordes of monsters. This season involves politics, logic (as weird as it might sound) and characters other than Saitama from which quite a few are extremely nicely portrayed!
This gives us a new story while we watch it from a different perspective, the non overpowered perspective. And it was a story that I enjoyed.
The art definitely went up quality wise compared to season 1. So if you loved the animation quality there you will most likely love it here too.
The sounds were over the top with all the squishing and bone cracking effects, but I loved it.
As I mentioned there are a lot more characters that get focus. In this season you will see their growth as individuals but also how their morals changed or came to be based on things experienced. Aka a great character development.
While this season ended in quite a fashionable manner with a closure to the event that took place, the story is far from finished. I either expect a part 2 of season 2 or a season 3 that continues where season 2 started. We are presented a new end boss, one that easily tops the season 1 final boss. So the follow up of season 2 has me thoroughly hyped.
TLDR;
If you watch this show purely for Saitama you will be disappointed since this season will show more about how the world operates and how the other individuals with significant status act.

Look at the scores I gave this show. It is the most ridiculous review I've ever written and show that I have witnessed. There is a TLDR at the bottom.
As usual Netflix has a talent for flushing out incomplete garbage. But this show was different. The art was honestly pretty amazing, I love the artstyle. I really did! Sound was definitely on point, from music to ambient sounds. Sure there wasn't a lot, but what was present was of good quality.
The characters were very interesting and had great developments as well, at least in the main team. Each character had their own unique role and
...
their own pros and cons. This is extremely fitting with the story.
The story is about having people wake up after a cryo sleep that lasted god knows how long. They are the only humans and woke up when earth became habitable again. Since a meteor shower had quite a negative impact on it. Spread over teams each team is placed at a certain location near a vault where they can find supplies to start villages, communities etc in order to populate earth again and in order to survive. To establish a good basic for future generations etc.
Honestly it is really a great story since it gives so much room for the character development. And then we have flashbacks highlighting some of the characters certain talents and trauma's.
Now I will start with the bad things... and also the reason why I don't recommend this show. You will get tossed around as a viewer. First you watch the story of a certain team, then before it is even finished you will be shown the story of another team. Before it is finished then back to the earlier team. The stories had no significant connection and there were plenty of stories, not just 2. That left me with a foul feeling. So in the hope that it will at least be finished or that you get to see what you had been hoping for you keep watching...
Sure the characters get more interesting, but they make blatantly stupid choices suddenly all for the sake of plot twists. Which are extremely obvious. There is no actual reasoning for certain events. Just to throw the viewer (you and me) off. I really hate those kind of things since it is an extremely low quality effort of achieving something. Just like jump scares in horror movies.
So while you start to realize the road that this dumpster fire has taken under guidance of Netflix the end is nearing (aka episode 12). One side of the story shows that it will be very promising and that it will be great! And then it is halted, we switch to another team. Then they get to an important point in the story and then we get a cliffhanger as season finisher. At an extremely important point as well. This isn't your ordinary cliffhanger, this is one that will make you hate that you wasted hours by watching 12 episodes just for this.
This is an anime about survival and surviving essentially without technology. They don't leave much room for a second season but more like an episode 13 to finish up episode 12. The way they went around with not finishing all the team stories is more like they simply left holes in the overall show. With a second season you can't fill those holes since a second season would be like 11 episodes of flash backs and other perspectives (to complete season 1) and then the last episode would probably finish episode 12... but fact is, all this isn't present.
TLDR;
We are left with an incomplete show that can't even finish the stories it tells and shows. It gives you an incomplete open ending. Hell it isn't even an ending. Netflix probably forgot to add an episode... that kind of ending. Do not watch this. You will be wasting your time. It is quite a miracle for how this show ended up being ruined given the quality elements it contained... but then again it is pretty much Netflix's standard for their exclusive anime.

First of all let me start by telling that I am the kind of guy that enjoys a good story so the story weighs heavy in my overall enjoyment of the show. I like to see a thread connecting each episodes due to a plot unfolding or a secret being uncovered to deliver the viewer one hell of a good time.
Gunjou no Magmel honestly had me hyped. A story about pretty much an alien island filled with unknown goods variating from species to fruits with certain extra's. With that we get presented one hell of an amazing looking and acting main character and his
...
side-kick, a strange but interesting girl that usually guides our mc around with her robot.
Our mc has made quite the reputation and great high status for him in a positive way. This is mainly due to his teacher though. This leaves space for great back story content.
Since the island is so dangerous a lot of people ask the mc help for his services which comes at a price. His adventures on the island is extremely interesting due to the mc having loads of knowledge about the island and the inhabitants. There are so many mysteries surrounding the island and the mc especially the connection between the two! Or three if you count his side kick. She is extremely talented, knowledgeable and fun!
BUT... this show isn't about all that. Most shows usually start by getting the audience familiar with the daily routine of the mc and potentially his friends/others involved to the plot. Here it is the mc doing his daily things (won't spoil it for you). So 2-3 episodes pass and this is where shows will show you that something is happening that forces the mc to not live his daily routine any longer! This is all based on a basic story structure that has proven to be successful, interesting and fairly enjoyable for both the writer and reader/viewer. This is called "Hero's journey". Feel free to google it to find a great summary about it to understand it.
So after the mc is introduced to something that isn't his daily routine the plot will begin and the story starts to unfold. This combined with a mysterious island, people with ridiculous abilities and a mc with quite a hefty reputation.. sounds like the ingredients for a quality show right?
The show however doesn't get past the point of daily routine. This show is only about his daily routine. There is no plot. There is no story. It is just a character with certain powers, a sidekick and a mysterious island doing daily things. Nothing more than that. The mc doesn't have a goal and won't get one. Each few episodes consists of small missions that are unique to each other. The only connection is the mc and his sidekick and the island. But we will never learn anything useful about these 3. We learn more about the people involved in his daily routine.
Since I love stories I can't enjoy this show since there is none. Even if it was a show with an unique story (or more) per episode I would rate it a lot higher. I am confident that not many people share my thoughts and opinion so I do suggest to watch the first 3 episodes. What you see is everything you will get. It won't get better, it might get worse depending on the "mission". If you enjoy it then you should watch it.
I find it extremely difficult to describe that this show has no story, but just boring daily routines from someone. But I hope I got my point across. This is because the summary is extremely misleading. There is no actual exploration at unknown grounds (from character perspective). The continent already exists for quite some time and plenty of people in this show know it, so it isn't brand new.
The synopsis tricked me into being hyped for nothing. Hope it won't do the same for you. If you enjoy these type of shows, you might be able to rate it more fair than I can, have a blast.
Do note that only the story is non existent. The art is stunning! Animations are great as well. Sound effects are fitting and good. Characters are extremely interesting, but there is no development, meaning you will learn pretty much nothing of value, making them mediocre at best. This combined with no story gives me a hard time in enjoying this show. If those 2 don't matter to you then the show might easily hit a 7-8 for overall enjoyment. For example if art and sound were bad, but there was a great story + character development present I would rate it 7+ as overall enjoyment. That is because I don't care as much for animation + sounds as story and character development.

I will start off with a summary of the show to explain why I like and dislike certain aspects.
This show starts out with quite an annoying MC at which most viewers agree to him being extremely annoying, maybe even the sole reason of dropping the show. But this character gets the biggest personal growth, which is a nice thing to see. He is cocky and extremely arrogant. A saddening combination.
Revisions, the title itself, is actually quite an enormous spoiler. The show involves multiple timelines where a new timeline will be predicted based on changes made in the past. A certain corporation has special agents ensuring
...
the right changes are made, from which we know the agent Milo. A truly lovable and logical girl that simply is there to do her job.
The year 2007 (might be a couple of years off) is where everything started. A small cast of youngsters will either save or destroy the future for mankind due to a new deadly virus being released. When they are children they interact with a time traveling agent without knowing it. But this is when their faith has changed.
Each of them grows up in their own way to the present where they are teens. All except for one have life goals, but then a big disaster happens which results in a whole city being transported roughly 300 years in the future to a barren wasteland where the virus is ruling. Humanity has perished and it is up to them to make it back save in their own time. With them I mean their entire city, not just our MC crew.
Their ordeal in a new era is filled with personal growth, action and an actually decent story. While some are cocky others try to grasp the new situation and to adjust.
I don't consider the information above a spoiler but rather something necessary to understand the overall plot better while watching, because this show covers 2 complex factors; time travel and alternate time lines. As similar as they may sound there is a significant difference between the two. This show expressed the difference really well.
With that comes a whole bunch of important characters, there isn't an actual main character. Plenty of them have their own given roles with everything being properly and logically animated. Even the characters at the back that are barely shown. Most of these characters experience quite the growth due to the sudden extreme change of environment. In just one episode you can understand what the mindset of most of them is and after a couple you can see how the whole ordeal affects them. And honestly not many shows nail that factor.
This show also has no fan service. That means more time for actual story and growth. Some things are cliche though which had an impact in my grading for character development, while the enjoyment was mainly affected by the cocky arrogant type. Otherwise the grades would be an 8 for them with an overall 8.
Art is a tough one. I am not fond of CGI but I guess I've either accepted it without knowing or they actually have good quality CGI. I can't complain much about it. I'd rather have it drawn the traditional way, but this is just a matter of preference.
Finally, sound effects are nothing special. Good voice actors, fairly basic effects. No extra special sound effects for environments to make it sound more immersive. But this is just nitpicking.
So after this long wall of text, I do recommend watching it, especially if you're into shows that are about time travel / alternate time lines!
Also side note, it is classified as a mecha anime, but don't expect something like Gundam or Gridman. It is more like fancy exosuit prototype. So if you explicitly look for mecha, this might be a let down.
