Initially added this in my growing list of BL manga a few years ago. Decided to pick it up and it was...sub-par. The art is pretty simple and doesn't really do much for me, or the story for that matter. Character development is hardly there. It rubbed me the wrong way when Isao asked Zen if he wanted him to be his new mommy, like Zen is his pawn to win Koutarou's heart.
While reading the first chapter, I thought, "How old is Isao if he was talking to Koutarou's wife as a kid? They both look the same age..." Found out in the next chapter ...

Lovely Complex is a series I have wanted to read since I was in middle school many years ago. I always heard about how great it was and that it's a staple in the shoujo genre that I grew up with. I recently decided to give it a go. At first, I genuinely enjoyed the banter between the two, it was believable enough that it set the stage for an enemies to lovers trope. The art style is flexible without being overbearingly cute.

Going in, I was hopeful for Escape Journey, because as it was the characters and art were good so far. Most of the ratings and reviews sung its praises, and I figured, "Hey, it must be good." Then there was a r*pe scene in an early chapter. Ruined everything about it for me. Assault is not funny, nor does it add anything to the plot other than signs of a toxic relationship. I tried to get into this manga because I had friends who liked it when I was in high school. I personally don't think I should have bothered. What I read was a boring story with predictable tropes and dismal artwork. I understand it's based off the anime, but the artist definitely took some liberties. As someone who read the entire series, I wasn't very impressed with this OVA. There were characters that I had never seen before that weren't in the manga (I think) and a plot that isn't in the manga either. It went from 0 to 100 really quick.
It was interesting, but at the same time I hated it. I hated the voice they gave most of the characters. I hated the faces they made. I hated how confused I was half the time. I only enjoyed watching it for how absolutely absurd it was. The writing was awful. I'm practically convinced whoever wrote this hasn't ...

Probably one of my favorite mangas I've read that I found through this website. Unfortunately, I had to drop it due to the fact only 6 chapters are translated in English. The 7th was mostly a car chase scene and not a lot of text until the end of the chapter, however it is pretty understandable through common sense what transpires. This manga just seemed incredibly boring to me. I think the biggest issue I had with it was character development, specifically Yuuki. Getting to the second volume, I realized I seriously had no idea what his personality was like besides being obsessed with this mundane girl. His classmate Shougo was also pretty bland and characterless.
