This is not just the worst anime I've seen, but one of the worst shows I've ever seen. The main idea of this show is in this post-apocalyptic world children (why children???) pilot these giant mechs called Franxx in order to defend humanity from these creatures called the Klaxosaurs. While that all may sound interesting, the show quickly goes downhill. I f I were to write down every problem in detail, I would be here all day, so instead I'll just speed run all of it for you:

boring mc (makes Kirito look like a multilayered Shakespearean antihero by comparison)

One dimensional and deeply annoying side cast

creepy ... pointless fanservice (INCLUDING THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED KIDS AND MECHS)

VERY inconsistent character writing (Is 002 evil, is she misunderstood, why did she just try to murder 10 people? Who cares! The show's just gonna pretend all that didn't happen and change her personality in the span of like 2 episodes)

Introducing aliens in the third act because why the fuck not

Taking "inspiration" (directly coping sometimes scene for scene) from much better shows

One character turns into a giant mech at the end (I'm kidding this actually happens) And becomes a space martyr.

This isn't even half of all the BS that happens in this show. If you want the watch an anime about children fighting in giant government robots, go watch evangelion. this show is terrible and I strongly advise that no one watches it.
