While it can be enjoyable in a "so bad it's good" way, I think it gives a wrong message about bullying and its consecuences that can be harmful to readers. Therefore, I can't recommend it.

The art is good but nothing spectacular.

The thing with this manga is the fact that it isn't so much of a story around bullying and how it affects everyone involved as, for example, Silent Voice, but revenge porn where the Aizawa, a previously bullied kid, hurts the people that hurted him and we, as an audience, are made to feel good about it. While the manga initially plays with ... the idea that Aizawa is evil or at least morally grey it changes its mind and decide to make him an anti-hero who is always right. The main bullies are pure evil in a generic way

It's a shame because there are good ideas thrown in, as, for example a bully repenting on his actions or how bullying can arise for very small things.

First of all, I think it is a great read. Much more recommendable than the anime as it has a slower but justifiable pace. Yesterday wo utatte deals with characters and their ties with the past. Personally I think that the first part of the manga is superior because the love element wasn't as present (because there was no end in sight) and the mangaka could have mini arcs of 4 or 5 chapters about how to deal with an specific problem/situation. Later that wasn't the case and I think the story suffer from that.

About, the characters, they are not likable at first glance, ... they grow on you, except Shinako, she never does. Nah, I'm kidding, there was a point in the middle of the story where she is awesome, but is really short, and her ending does leave a bad taste. Regardless, Haru is a joy to read, Yuzuhara, Rikuo too (much less emotionless than his anime counterpart), and every side character is memorable.

The one that the anime does the greatest disservice to is Ruo, as in the anime is mostly a one-note character infatuated with Shinako. On the other hand, we see a brat with a really nice and robust character.

Finally (spoilers)

The ending arc was horrible to read, not because it was objectively bad, but because it was all about love and almost every relationship was about someone chasing someone, the other not liking them and still trying until it worked. It's not that I dislike this trope but you can't have every relationship play like this: Rikuo and Shinako, Haru and Rikuo, Anamiya and Haru, Rou and Shinako (the worst by far), Rou's friend and the girl who kicks everyone for no reason, the photographer and Haru's boss. EVERY ONE.

Anyway Shinako and Rou's love is distasteful and it is not justifiable in the story at all. It seems to me a way to have a mutual break - up between Rikuo and her. Made not sense and rewards Ruo for things he shouldn't have. Of course Rikuo and Haru are awesome
