A very unique take on magic and monsters - but the "incest" though...
First of all, don't watch the show if you're not willing to sit through the first 4-5 episodes.
They're quite boring and filled with the aforementioned "incesty" vibes, which quite frankly make them really hard to sit through at times.
Though once you make it past the first episodes you end up with an extremely interesting take on magic and monsters, both design (system) wise and artistically speaking.
Fight scenes are fun to watch and visually appealing. Initially the fights have weight to them - it feels like the mc is genuinely in danger

Significantly better than anticipated!
Netflix Anime's have a stigma of having bad animation and adapting source material in a questionable way, but for Lookism and some other recent projects that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. The adaptation has decent animation and isn't overly reliant on CG. Artstyle-wise it fits the setting of the early chapters of Lookism very well. Characters are easily recognizable, though slightly less ugly as portrayed in the manhwa (which is a plus?). Only problem I could see is how heavy and griddy the later chapters of Lookism get and how they're going to fit certain scenes into this style. Considering that ... |
