So sweet can hurt your teeth, but completely worth it. Loved that it was short and sweet. Such an enjoyable read. The characters were enjoyable.
Great little read to finish in a day since it's only 30 chapters.
Could this have been longer to finish out some story lines? Yes. Could it gotten rid of some of the shorts? Also yes. Could they have done more with the shorts and added them to the story in more depth? Also yes.
It's a story you wish would have some more meat to it since when you sit back and think about it, it was very rushed.

I was so disappointed in this series. I loved the anime. I had gotten the box set and watched it all the time and I always wanted to read the manga, but didn't get my hands on the full series until this year. So I was so excited to finally read the series since I knew the anime took out a ton of stuff.
But OMG, the anime took the only best parts! I struggled reading through this. It was painful and I was so disappointed. I felt like the series was never going to end. I skipped most of the side characters chapters because ...

I haven't read this series in nearly a decade since it came out. It was the first series I picked up that wasn't rated teen. When I was 17! I even had to wait for the last English book as well that I picked up back in 2009. I recently re-read it again online and still enjoyed the tale. It is a fun story and a great tale of differences and growing up being different than what society believes is normal. And if you have apps like Viki I recommend watching the drama done by TBS as they did a great job following ...

People go gaga over this manga and I can see why. I do believe it is really good. Great story about coming of age and how different life events can change you.
That being said, I think it could have been better. Like many mangas, it has the troupe everyone loves to use and few do not use it well because of the lack of communication. To the point I did find it to be overly annoying and frustrating. Maybe I would have thought differently if I found this series when it first came out when I was in my early 20s, but now that ...

Like others have noted this is a very straightforward story. It is all about the two main characters. Side characters are there mostly supporting for the leads. If you are looking for a more complex story this is not it.
If you want something sugary sweet and just overall a fun time. I say pick this up. I read all 13 volumes in a day. It is quick-paced enough to do so since there are no slow periods in the storyline. Overall, I am happy I read this series and will read it again in the future since it is a fun read.

Just finished re-reading this series. Since I hadn't touched it since it ended, it is as cute as I remember, but also plot holes and all the side stories sadly do not get finished. If you have read a ton of shojo will this be predictable? Oh yes it will, but the characters are still fun.
This is a longer series, but it still manages to feel very rushed at times. The two mani characters are well-rounded. The side characters, kind of? In some ways they are and in others they are not. Don't want to give any spoilers so will not give any examples. ... |
