Is Hajimete no Gal a masterpiece? The answer is no. Is it as bad as a lot of people think? The answer is again no. After watching it I found it peculiar that so many people have such a low opinion of this series. I can understand the frustration to a certain degree but the bashing received by the series is a bit overkill. I get it. It is not original, deep, with an interesting universe or complex characters but does that make it not enjoyable? I personally disagree. I found the entire series very enjoyable. Think of it as a funny break from other
...
series. You don’t need to be heavily invested you just need to chill and laugh at the slapstick humor.
The story is not particularly strong but so what. It’s about a high school kid trying to get laid. I mean who has not been in a similar position? It’s awkward, frustrating and ultimately funny. The struggle, at times is hilarious. And to a certain degree it develops into an actual love story given that emotions develop and lust becomes love. Yes I get the fact that most of are used to seeing awesome characters getting involved in extremely weird situations with the opposite sex but in my opinion this series is a bit more realistic. Yes it is filled with weird, out of this world, situations but it is also filled with situations that are more realistic, primarily the interaction of hormonal teenagers with no real knowledge of romantic relationships.
As for the art one can only say that the creator is actually responsible for some hentai (at least that’s what I heard). Based on that I think one can imagine what the show is all about in regards to art. It is a fan service paradise. Panty and boob shots are the bread and butter for this series. Overall it fits quite nicely given that the main character is a hormonal teenager and it gives rise to several sexually fueled situation.
Sound is Ok I guess. There is nothing too bad or too exciting. It is just average.
Characters were also ok. Given time these characters could have developed into something exceptional (except the possible child molester). Unfortunately there was not much time so their development is skin deep but the basis for them is pretty good. It clearly explores the angst of teenagers in very different ways and though it is plagued with clichés it also tries to differ from other archetypes projecting the mess that is often linked with teenagers.
As I have said already the series is not the re-invention of the wheel but it is very enjoyable. I laughed in several occasions and when it came to an end I felt that I had a good time and that I did not waste my time. Of course there better series out there but in no way is this one as bad as it is portrayed to be.
I recommend it if you just want to kill a couple of hours with a very light and funny series that does try to be something more than it actually is.

Garo is pretty great anime if you are into action, demons and fantasy in general.
I discovered it by accident and even though I was kinda bored when I started watching, I quickly became enthralled by the series.
Story: 7
The story started off pretty good giving us a good background of our main characters and allowing us the necessary time to identify with their plight and suffering but it was all too soon that ups and downs became apparent. Thank god the ups outnumbered the downs by a lot but still some of the randomness introduced to this series left a bitter taste. Furthermore the relationships forged
...
and discovered in some cases seemed too convenient. I get it that they were required for the story to progress but some of them seemed half-arsed. Despite all this the story maintained a solid rhythm.
Art : 9
The art was exquisite. Everything was very well drawn and the background was very well set up. Both the character art and the background managed to capture my focus and travel me to the world depicted in the series. My one regret is that certain places that were not very well lit lacked detail. Other than that the art is up to par with the contemporary style we are used to.
Sound : 8
The soundtrack was pretty good. It accompanied each scene very well and it managed to highlight the situation depicted on screen whether this was a sad moment or a fight scene the soundtrack complemented the art to a very good degree. The opening and ending was not very good to be honest although the art utilized in the opening was exceptional.
Character: 10
All major characters were outstanding. All characters where very well writ with pretty good backstories. In very few moments did the question arise as to why a certain character made that decision. In most cases Gram made no sense but other than her all other characters were of the highest caliber.
Enjoyment & Overall: 8
I find the whole series quite enjoyable and I am glad I discovered it. I would recommend it to all who wish to see a series of this type (Fantasy, Action).

A true and rare masterpiece!
A must see anime for everyone. Personally I ignored it ever since it came out. Something just did not click for me and I put it in my back burner for ever. By doing so I almost missed on ,perhaps the greatest, drama series ever.
It is exquisite in every way. The story is exceptionally intriguing and addictive. You just have to know more. The art is extremely beautiful from the scenery to the characters the artists of this series have outdone themselves. The soundtrack is amazing and it is improved by the amazing visual effects applied to the series. The soundtrack
...
truly elevated an exceptional series to a top 5 of all time series (at least for me). As it is clear by my remarks up to this point the series is highly enjoyable I truly recommend it to everyone even if this type so series is not your usual cup of tea I am positive that you shall enjoy it. It is a masterpiece.
Excuse me for not providing a more in depth review but I feel that this particular series needs to be experienced first hand.

Story : 9
The story for the second season follows very closely the first there is no time gap but things change greatly from one season to the other. The first season was funnier and more focused into exploring the funny aspects of the characters and school but the second focuses more on the struggle of the characters both personal and academic. It focuses more on how the characters overcome their issues and struggles especially in regards to family matters, dreams and aspirations as well as deep psychological issues brought by a sense of destiny and obligation. Keep in mind that this does not mean that
...
the series is no longer funny and enjoyable but that it just focuses more on 'actual' issues.
Art: 8
The art is pretty much what you have come to expect from the first season. There are no visible differences. It is still pretty good. Perhaps the most notable change are facial expressions due to the larger variety of emotions felt by the main and supporting characters.
Sound: 6
Exactly like the first season the music seems to be irrelevant. Once again the ost does not complement the actual story despite the story line being more profound in the second season.
Character: 8
The characters continue their journey through life and in several cases they become more relatable. The character development has indeed escalated but due to this the series lost some of its funnier aspects. This is by no mean a bad thing.
Enjoyment : 8
Despite the changes this season is very enjoyable mainly because it shows us different aspects of the characters. Yes it may not be as funny as the first but the fact is that the creators dared to show us a more realistic perspective of the characters lives, something that I personally found quite enjoyable.
Overall : 8
Overall the series is very good and it is my belief that the change of pace and direction in season 2 complements season 1 greatly. I would prefer if there was a season 3 in order to see how the story unfolded after the end of season 2 but in order to explain it better I would have to add spoilers which is never a good thing.
In conclusion I highly recommend it.

Watching the first couple of episodes of Gin no Saji I was very sceptic. I had heard that it was a very good series but I just could not see it. Having powered through the first two episodes I was relieved to discover that it was indeed a very good series. It was very fun and it deviated from the norms of slice of life anime.
Story: 8
The story is pretty much what you would expect from such a series but due to the set up in an agricultural high school there were several minute changes that boosted the series as a whole. Unlike other
...
series it kept being fun and the stories of each episode managed to make the viewing process very fun. The main story was pretty basic but that does not mean that it was boring in any way.
Art: 9
Artistic wise is what you would expect from a series launched after 2010. The art was very pretty and the scenery complemented the story and characters. It just gave off the feeling that you were actually in a rural part of japan something that it is not seen frequently in anime series (for me it was the first time). Overall I would say that the art was great despite not being flashy.
Sound: 6
Sound was a bit bland. I can not say that any of the ost stuck in my head. Everything was ok but nothing was impressive. I imagine this is the case because the whole series had no epic moments that needed to be boosted by awesome tracks but still I think that it could have been improved.
Character: 8
All characters were designed exceptionally good. The main character was bit hard to like, at first, but as the series progressed and you get to now more about him you understand why he is the way he is. The supporting characters were all well thought and diverse. As a whole the characters managed to help unfold a pretty funny and enjoyable series filled with hilarious 'accidents' but also with deep emotional moments that help the development of the characters.
Enjoyment: 9
As I have stated above the series was very enjoyable since it deviated from the norms. It is highly recommended to all who wish to watch something uplifting and humorous with that being based on fanservice and slapstick humor.
Overall: 8
Overall I would give this series an 8 due to the just fair music and the fact that the season ended very abruptly. Of course there is a season 2 and that may be a little harsh but the fact is that episode 11 (end of season 1) seemed to end in a hurry. Had I been forced to wait for the season 2 to start I would probably not have watched it.

Seikoku no Dragonar truly is one of the worst things I have watched. It is an awful series and I would not recommend it to anyone. Despite having potential the creators disappointed me gravely. I watched the entire series thinking at the end of each episode that it cannot get any worse. I was mistaken.
Story : 3
As I said before the series had potential primarily due to the general story idea. Regrettably the end result was horrible. The story, in several cases, made absolutely no sense. Dozens of plot holes and the poorly written backgrounds for the main and supporting characters made a bad
...
story line into something utterly pathetic.
Art :4
Art may well have been the only decent thing about this series and when I say decent I do not mean that it was neither innovating or unique. It is more like what you would expect from this type of anime. The art in several cases seemed rushed and uncreative since no effort seemed to have been made to give that extra spark or glamour. Plus I did not enjoy the strong influence from hentais.
Sound : 2
Everything in relation to sound was completely subpar. The soundtrack was at best mediocre. Nothing really stuck with you except an annoying ending theme. The opening was not much better. As for voice acting I have to admit that once again they made no effort to create something unique. All characters were poorly voiced to the degree that almost all characters reminded you characters from other anime. It seems to me that no attempt was made to make them 'unique'.
Character : 1
As I said before the characters were poorly written, portrayed and voiced. Nothing good can be said about them. No information was provided during the series about them, none that made any sense at least. Even when an attempt was made to introduce some piece of information about the characters background it was swiftly demolished by some random event that had no place being there or irrelevant interruption from another character thus creating the illusion of a cliffhanger.
Enjoyment & Overall: 3
In essence this a horrible series that I would not recommend. Nothing in it can be viewed as good or average. The creators failed miserably and this failure could only be explained if this was their first attempt in anime creation. Furthermore I blame the stations that decided this was a good anime to air and further pollute the anime world. In my humble opinion nobody should have to suffer viewing this series unless you feel you need to punish yourselves.

Heroic Age is truly an extraordinary anime. For me it is a must see series.
Story : 9
Though the story may seem a bit classical for those of us who are fans of the sci-fi genre I want to assure you that it is non the less amazing. Yes it is the classic battle between humanity and the alien forces and yes there are heroes/champions for each of the warring factions but despite these cliched details the story is so much more. It is an extraordinary tale that depicts an awe inspiring journey of Age and the Princess towards the future not for the human race
...
or the Nodos or the other races but for the universe as whole. It kind of reminds me of the journey of Odysseus, the Greek hero who traveled the seas and encountered numerous perils and obstacles in his journey home and towards peace. I can keep going but I could never do justice to the story. In my humble opinion this an epic story filled with action, intrigue, chaos and dozens of feelings.
Art : 10
The art is another outstanding feature of this series. Though the art is not high class and edgy like newer anime series (Gundam 00, Code Geass, Tengen Toppa etc) it is truly remarkable. It gives off a vibe of older series that were created during the 80'2 and 90's. While watching Heroic Age I was constantly reminded of such series as Space battleship Yamato 2199, Captain Harlock, Gundam Wing etc. of course I do not claim that the art is the same as it was for these older series but that it just gives off a similar vibe. The artists managed to combine to very different art styles into one and the result is truly amazing.
Sound : 8
The soundtrack was pretty good. The opening and ending songs were well suited for this type of series and they managed to hook the viewer into watching them. The rest of the music throughout the series was very good as well. Each music piece complimented the scenes depicted. Music in this series managed to compliment the story telling and allowed the viewer to receive the anguish, sorrow, determination, joy etc of the characters.
Character : 9
Each of the main characters was written quite brilliantly. I, as a viewer, was able to follow the actions of our characters very easily. In essence all characters made sense. There was no part that confused me. Of course there were times were I disagreed and even cursed towards my screen but I think overall this fact made the characters more human and more believable. The one small issue I had with the character development is that certain things that occurred in the past were lost in a sense but to explain further I would have to spoil you.
Enjoyment & Overall : 10
Of course this series deserves a 10 +. This series has been extremely enjoyable and intriguing. There have few other series that I have enjoyed so much. everything about it was top notch. It is very rare for this level of quality work to be produced. To not see this series is to have missed something exceptional.

As anime viewers we are all searching for the next magnificent series that will get us hooked almost instantly. To be honest this is not the case for Strike the Blood. In no case does this mean that this particular series is a failure but it's also not a masterpiece.
Strike the Blood is a typical harem/superpower/vampire fun series. It is the type of series that will help you relax and laugh through accidental sexual encounters and/or accidents.
Story: 7
As I already said the story is pretty generic and in most cases you are almost certain as to what it is going to happen. Then again
...
just because you know does not make the whole experience less enjoyable. Yes there could have been more effort given to the story as a whole but the fact is that the way it is now it's quite efficient for the genre of the series.
Art : 7
The art is pretty good in general. Personally I have some doubts about a couple of background things but I would not want to spoil anybodys fun. The characters are pretty well drawn although they are pretty classic and standardized. The transformations and usage of super-powers is quite nice. It is clear that the artistic team put a lot of effort to make the fighting sequences more appealing to the viewers.
Sound : 4
The soundtrack was not anything exceptional.. At best you could describe it as decent. Both openings were pretty good but thats about it. Despite having finished watching it less than 30 minutes, I cannot for the life of me, remember another instance where the music excited me. Even in the fighting scenes the music was pretty underwhelming.
Character : 8
Even though character development was not a priority for this series I found the majority of the main and supporting characters quite enjoyable. There were some cases where one could relate to their 'plight'. What I enjoyed most is the fact that each female character had a very different origins story and motivation to assist our main protagonist. It really put me in the mood to read the light novel and manga in order to get all the information.
Enjoyment & Overall : 7
As I said before this is by no means a masterpiece series. This is a good, fun and predictable series ideal for relaxation and enjoyment.
If you are looking for something that would get you hooked please move along you will not find this here.

Perhaps one of the worst anime series I have ever had the displeasure of watching to the bitter end. My recommendation is to just skip it.
Allow me to explain why.
Story 3
Economic crisis, fiscal instability, human greed coupled with the money battles via a form of avatars. The whole idea seems interesting in a sense but the end result is not. The whole conceptualization is faulty. The story progression is full of plot holes and gaps, irrelevant information and please let us not forget several overdramatizations of actual things. It is highly ridiculous when at some point the story tries to portray that the IMF
...
(Yes the actual organization) is responsible for the global financial crisis due to its activities and inactivity. I mean who had that brilliant idea. Fiction and reality are two different things of course, but damn just because you have an exceptionally weak plot you can't just fill it up with pure randomness. The end result will be, as in this case, a horrible series.
Art 5
Well the art was not bad or good. I have to admit that the artists had their moments (primarily in the creation of the main characters) bu there were also times that I thought that they should not be allowed to work under the influence of mind altering substances. The whole financial district seemed rushed and ugly . Furthermore given that the financial district is some form of parallel universe or another dimension or something of the sort it lack any similarity with the actual world.
Sound 3
Other than a couple of songs that were utilized in specific scenes ( after the last battle the song was magnificent) all other music associated with this series is at best poor. Not only nothing that would fascinate and excite you but the exact opposite. Most of the music was bad and not connected with the scenes. The opening and ending songs were more like noise to me and not something to get me fired up.
Character 1
All characters were horrible. Even the ones you think are awesome in the beginning end up horrible. First of all there is NO character development. Apart from the two 'main'characters which we know less than 1% of their identities, ideologies, thought patterns etc. all others are complete mysteries. It is like they do not exist to the viewer cause simply they have no reason to exist. There are cases where a character is repeatedly part of the 'action' and you do not even know their name. Simply PATHETIC.
Enjoyment & Overall 3
For me 3 is quite generous. I had hoped that the series will reward me by sticking with it and that it would prove me right to have devoted my time but in the end all my fears came to be real. This series is a huge waste of time. It is not fun, interesting, intriguing and it does not entice me to find the original mange/light novel or whatever else created this world to begin with. For me it has failed on all fronts.

Outbreak Company is a very enjoyable anime to watch. It's one of those series that can have a positive effect on your mood when you're tired and frustrated.
Story: 7
The story is a bit original, for me at least. Never before have I seen an anime where the main character actually exports the whole otaku culture. It's pretty fun how they implemented this general idea and having such a short amount of time to provide the viewers with enough details/explanations as to why and how this is happening they did a pretty good job.
In no case you should expect an anime with no holes or arbitrary
...
stories but rest assured assured that the end result is quite enjoyable.
Art : 9
The art was extremely good, especially when you take into account that it's only 12 episodes. The artist team really did their best to create a very appealing world and beautiful characters. Of course they did not have to wander off into unknown territory and that made their work a bit easier. The races and tribes that reside in this parallel universe are the usual suspects (elfs, dwarfs, humans etc.).That being said the outcome was exceptional.
Sound : 6
The soundtrack could have been better. It seemed that not enough thought was given to the music for this anime. I can not say that it was bad but it was nothing memorable either. In some cases the soundtrack did not complement the scenes and in others it seemed to be perfect. Overall a decent result in regards to music but it had ample room to improve.
Character : 8
Most characters were very good although there was a great inequality of available information for some of them (mostly supporting characters). The main protagonist is a hardcore otaku and a hikikomori. Fortunately enough the story explains as to how this came to be. The supporting characters as I stated earlier suffer inequalities between one another since there are some where the viewer knows their background story and others where the flow information is limited at best. As a huge fan of anime I was able to extrapolate certain things from the characters based on their behavior since the maintained a classic character pattern. There is your loli, your BL Pervert, your timid maid and other usual characters. in essence all of them quite good for this type of series.
Enjoyment & Overall : 7
This anime series was quite enjoyable, easy and fun to watch with no complex story lines or difficult character plots. It is what you would expect from a 12 episode series. I would recommend it to everyone who want to relax watching something fun and easy.
