Code Geass and Higurashi both initially seem kiddish, but manage to overcome that impression by the end of the first episode. The sheer quantity of emotion contained in each series is almost overwhelming, as is the ability of each to switch between being light-hearted and series almost instantaneously. Both are gripping and excellent for marathoning.

Angel Beats!

Both are very whimsical with absurd premises and some character development. Angel Beats! has a much larger cast than Fumoffu and its main characters also develop more. Additionally, Angel Beats! is fairly sad at points.

Bones made both of these animes with about the same depressing, slow-moving tone. The major difference is that DtB is very episodic and Wolf's Rain tends to just wander all over the place. The protagonists, Hei and Kiba, are practically the same character.

Both animes are very strange and somewhat horrifying at times. They also have the ability to alternate between the mundane and much more intense scenarios. Both have superb characters, though those in BRS tend to be more believable and those in Higurashi tend to be more unique.

Each is a horror anime revolving around a mystery and the graphic deaths of students; however, Higurashi is more light-hearted (at points) and less generic than Another.
