side note: this review is an attempt at spoiler-free. You still get some... hints of the future chapters, though.
I was half-hearted at first because the art was not really my style, but now I regret not reading it earlier.
Isekai is a cliche plot. Like, really cliche. Everyone overuses it now, and I thought this would be the same. But no, it's not. Instead, it's more like a mass-isekai where everyone only remembers the past by seeing magic or hearing the old tongue. The worldbuilding is great and there's none of that OP isekai reincarnation harem nonsense where the MC has insane DPS and builds a
...
harem off of that power.
The author don't make the characters dense or stupid, nor do they make them too powerful. There's have a solid concept of magic, inheritance, offerings, bloodline, and so on. Those parts are really consistent. I also like how the church is stated to be neutral and most of them stay neutral, aside from those with personal feelings for the Moswickians or Zerestrians.
The MC is not overly lucky. Not everything tips in his favor, and it takes a long time for them to figure out who was behind it. There are hints, and they all have an idea that it's 'that person,' but they don't have proof and 'that person' hides that very proof pretty well. 'That person' is willing to sacrifice his 'thing that is not his D' to hide it for a little longer. They make the identities obvious too, but 'that other person' doesn't remember it until chapter 70+.
-kind of spoiler-ish (if you haven't gotten past chapter... 10, was it?, don't read on unless you want spoilers)-
They don't make Harusumi too nice or too mean. He didn't want to help Motoi since the Moswickians had ambushed them and killed them all 'on the surface,' which makes him rather hypocritical considering how earlier, he'd talked about fairness and how the conflict was no more to Tsuzuki. Unlike those other people in other mangas who go like "the war is no more, who cares if I and all my comrades and friends died, that was last life and this is this life haha. Forgiveness to everyone, non?", Harusumi still has a bit of a grudge, which makes his character a little bit more realistic.
